Remember we follow a man who was murdered by the state at the request of the religious authorities for saying what he said.

:P Is that how you interpret Jesus' death? :b:

Politics? :noidea:

And do you honestly believe Jesus would be standing up for homesexual rights?

Well Jesus was murdered by powerful people who felt threatened by his message. So clearly his execution was a political act. Jesus stood up and was murdered and stands up now u for those who are weak, powerless and oppressed.

And of course religion had nothing to do with it. :)

When Jesus spoke against the leaders, what did He focus on? Politics or how they lived their lives in line with the Torah?

And what did Jesus say that got them the most upset? That their traditions weren't in-line with the Torah, or that He claimed to be the Son of God?

Clearly, it was His claim of being the Son of God. (Read the text - it's there!)

Amor - this is what is so troubling about your posts. Your description of Jesus here makes Him sound like any other religious figure!

What about Jesus being "the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world"?

What about "I am the Bread of Life..."?

What about "I am the Resurrection and the Life..."?

Do you honestly believe Jesus mission here on Earth was to "speak His mind"? :hmmm:

Because I know not a single Bible that has this quote in it. :noidea:

He came to preach the gospel and to call people to repent and reform their ways, to change their lives. Central to that change is changing the way we live. What I deplore is those Christians who see their faith as a merely spiritual thing that makes no material claims on their lives, Jesus makes it clear that this is not acceptable.

Before him all the nations will be gathered, and he will separate them one from another, as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.

33 He will set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.

34 Then the King will tell those on his right hand,'Come, blessed of my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world;

35 for I was hungry, and you gave me food to eat. I was thirsty, and you gave me drink. I was a stranger, and you took me in.

36 I was naked, and you clothed me. I was sick, and you visited me. I was in prison, and you came to me.'

37 "Then the righteous will answer him, saying,'Lord, when did we see you hungry, and feed you; or thirsty, and give you a drink?

38 When did we see you as a stranger, and take you in; or naked, and clothe you?

39 When did we see you sick, or in prison, and come to you?'

40 "The King will answer them,'Most certainly I tell you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.'

another clear example

18

An official asked him this question, "Good teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?"

19

Jesus answered him, "Why do you call me good? No one is good but God alone.

20

You know the commandments, 'You shall not commit adultery; you shall not kill; you shall not steal; you shall not bear false witness; honor your father and your mother.'"

21

And he replied, "All of these I have observed from my youth."

22

5 When Jesus heard this he said to him, "There is still one thing left for you: sell all that you have and distribute it to the poor, and you will have a treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me."

23

But when he heard this he became quite sad, for he was very rich.

24

Jesus looked at him (now sad) and said, "How hard it is for those who have wealth to enter the kingdom of God!

25

For it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God."

26

Those who heard this said, "Then who can be saved?"

27

And he said, "What is impossible for human beings is possible for God."

28

Then Peter said, "We have given up our possessions and followed you."

29

He said to them, "Amen, I say to you, there is no one who has given up house or wife or brothers or parents or children for the sake of the kingdom of God

30

who will not receive (back) an overabundant return in this present age and eternal life in the age to come."

You can't seperate politics from faith as the former is driven by the later.

Maybe he was thinking of this verse?

Mat 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

But I have no clue what translation that would be!

"The fear of censorship is often used to promote many things that should not be seen. Here in Washington State when Access TV cancelled a program because it was x-rated, the producer used the same complaint, censorship. The truth is censorship is often used in our daily lives to protect people. You can

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
