Oooh - Cowboy fans have privileges. :o

I think it must be the millennial kingdom. They aren't occupying close to what is promised. I don't see the Saudi's giving up any land. Doesn't it also include Jordan and Syria? Iraq?

Not able to look it up right now, but there is a prophecy about Egypt and some other nation eventually belonging to the Lord (as in, they'll be coming around!).

Yod, great thread. I do enjoy the Torah ( especially Genesis,

with the covenant of Abraham and the Lord, the patriarchal age, etc.

Yes, the sundry laws in Exodus and Leviticus are quite strict. It also says in either Leviticus or Exodus, that if a child curses or does evil to his/her parents,

he/she shall be stoned! Man, imagine the kids today doing what they do back

in those days. There wouldn't be many left I can tell you that much.

Also, how about the circumsion of the Jewish people as a sacrifice to the Lord?

Genesis 17:10-14

"This is My covenant, which ye shall keep, between Me and you and

thy seed after thee; Every man child among you shall be circumcised."

"And ye shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskin; and it shall be a token of the betwixt Me and you."

"And he that is eight days old shall be circumcised among

Greetings Yod,

There is no penalty for not tithing either....but like the law of gravity it is real.

Those who tithe as unto the Lord are blessed in ways beyond the world's understanding.

What is this about a "balding head"? I've had one for about 30 years - I think it is because I think toooo much.

I like the way you think on tithing. I have used the analogy of "gravity" many times when explaining the "spiritual AND physical blessings" that come with "freely giving as we were freely given". It definately is a "law" that the world does not understand. Even MOST Christians can't understand that when you give - you have MORE! God has shown myself and my wife this over the years. I do NOT give as unto a church or a particular organization, but I give as unto God. For the last 9 years my giving - probably about 12-15% have gone to one particular church, and I give a small amount to our local Union Gospel Mission. Also frequently when we have received like a tax refund back, or something else where we have been given an unaccounted for amount of money, we give a portion to UGM or some other worthy place as the Lord leads. Also we have usually given to evangelists, building monies, and special church activities.

I tell you this not to brag and I pray I am not offending anyone by this, but we give as we are led by the Lord. We recognize that all we have, God could take away in a heartbeat, and we have come to really enjoy giving unto the "kingdom of God" on this earth. We have never made a lot of money, but the monies that remain for US, is more than abundant to take care of all our needs and being a blessing to our 6 kids and 13 grandkids.

I have a good story I may tell here sometime regarding tithing. But this thread would not be appropriate.

Blessings,

Dad Ernie

Hope you don't mind my two cents.

The New Testament would not make sense without the Old to point to it.

We wouldn't know who Christ was without Isaiah 53. I could list 44 prophecies of the Messiah (I'm sure there would be more) that are in the OT.

Jesus is the Word made flesh. The Word is who the Prophets said He would be and the prophecies came to pass in Him, that is why He is the Word. In the beginning God spoke the universe into existence, He was the Word, then.

We have to know Genesis or we would be wondering where we came from. We wouldn't be able to distinguish Israel from the church without the Old Testament, and I could go on.

To be without the Old Testament is too unthinkable. The Bible is a whole.

2Ti 3:16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

On the other hand, people can come to Christ without it. All they need is John 3:16.

In that same sense, how can we truly understand the 'new' law, the two commandments of the New Testament, without the Torah of the Old Testament?

The New Testament is Christ revealed from the prophecies of the OT. Hand in hand.

The OT is types and shadows of the coming Messiah, again and again. Hand in hand.

The OT is the building block of the NT, the proof in the pudding. Hand in hand.

The OT is explained in the NT, and the NT is throughout the OT. Hand in hand.

Both are awesome. :il:

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
