2Ti 2:15 Study earnestly to present yourself approved to God, a workman that does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth.

Great response Jade.

Man, remember the first post that I posted in this topic?? Read it again. They are trying to get you in that yoke buddie....Run!!

Jamie:

Just warning you. AK is so ensconced in greek intellectualism its amazing. He interprets the Bible through greek philosophy, rather than judging greek philosophy by scripture. Be careful. He values worldly intellectualism above the faith of the Bible.

1 cor. 1: 17For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.

18For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

19For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.

20Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?

21For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

22For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:

23But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;

24But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.

25Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

26For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: 27But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;

See, this comes at a time when the Greek philosophers, supposedly some of the greatest minds ever, where still fresh on everyone's mind. But the philosophers could not "think" their way into the kingdom of God. They could not find God by intellect, no matter how hard they tried. Some were leaning more towards the truth than others. Some recognized the need for ONE supreme God to have made the universe, but intellect could not provide the means to find that "Being" (as opposed to "being").

The simplicity of Christ is what confounds the greco-roman intellectual, and as well the jew. The Jews wanted a conqueror Messiah who would do signs and wonders and destroy the heathen. The greeks(and romans) wanted intellect. They wanted a "god" they could figure out and put in a little box. But God came as a mere carpenter and died on a cross to redeem man. He didn't do it through the rich and powerful, or the intellectuals, or the scholars or philosophers, or the levitical priesthood. He did it through his own shed blood. That of a poor man who didn't have a place to lay his head. Philosophy is man looking for God. The cross is God revealing himself to man, and saving man from his sin.

Saul of Tarsus didn't find God through education or philosophy. Saul spoke at least 2 languages, probably 3, and fluently. Saul was one of the most educated people alive at the time, Tot he point that Festus later told him, "Much learning has made you insane," in response to his witnessing for Christ. Yet he hated the name of Jesus before his conversion, and sought to wipe the name out from the earth, along with all of its followers. Saul never found God or his Son Jesus. He wasn't even looking for God, he was on his way to kill some "heretick" Christians. Jesus found Saul on the road to Damascus. And when he saw him, and was struck blind, he KNEW it was God, and asked him, "Who are you LORD?" It wasn't intellect or philosophy that saved Saul, it was grace through faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ.

No, God doesn't want us to be ignorant, but when you start placing your focus on your education and philosophical debates and models, you're straying from the simplicity of Jesus Christ.

I never thought I would say this to you...but :b:

Fact is you can't you snake.

Greetings Apo,

You might know that I agree with you about the Greek and Hebrew languages, however, your conversation has gone a little overboard and is defeating your purpose. We should not be name calling, that is not for us to do. Let your conversation be with all grace and love.

I have a secular proverb taped to my computer. It says: "Strong and bitter words indicate a weak cause." Something to think about.

Blessings,

Dad Ernie

Here are a couple of examples of what difference knowing the original languages can do for you:

John 21

15 So when they had eaten breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me more than these?" He said to Him, "Yes, Lord; You know that I love You." He said to him, "Feed My lambs." 16 He said to him again a second time, "Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?" He said to Him, "Yes, Lord; You know that I love You." He said to him, "Tend My sheep." 17 He said to him the third time, "Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?" Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, "Do you love Me?" And he said to Him, "Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You." Jesus said to him, "Feed My sheep.

Now check this out:

15 So when they had eaten breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon, son of Jonah, do you agape Me more than these?" He said to Him, "Yes, Lord; You know that I philio You." He said to him, "Feed My lambs." 16 He said to him again a second time, "Simon, son of Jonah, do you agape Me?" He said to Him, "Yes, Lord; You know that I philio You." He said to him, "Tend My sheep." 17 He said to him the third time, "Simon, son of Jonah, do you philio Me?" Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, "Do you philio Me?" And he said to Him, "Lord, You know all things; You know that I philio You." Jesus said to him, "Feed My sheep.

Puts a different twist on the account, don't you think?

Another example - did you know that the word we know as "praise" has more than one word in Hebrew? For example:

Zamar - "to pluck the strings of an instrument, to sing, to praise;" a musical word which is largely involved with joyful expressions of music with musical instruments.

Yadah - "the extended hand, to throw out the hand, therefore to worship with extended hand."

Tahillah - "the singing of halals, to sing or to laud;" perceived to involve music, especially singing; hymns of the Spirit.

Towdah - "an extension of the hand in adoration, avowal, or acceptance." By way of application, it is appratent in the Psalms and elsewhere that it is used for thanking God for "things not yet received" as well as things already at hand.

Halal - "to be clear, to shine, to boast, show, to rave, celebrate, to be clamorously foolish."

Barak - "to kneel down, to bless God as an act of adoration."

Shabach - "to shout, to address in a loud tone, to command, to triumph."

Now, without knowing the Hebrew words used and what they convey, can you know, for instance, that:

"Give thanks to the Lord, for his lovingkindness is everlasting," (2Chr 20:21)

is actually saying "Give raised hands in worship ((yadah) to the Lord...."?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
