Going off meds is something that I am doing very prayerfully as I believe that it is Gods will for me at this time. I am already feeling better, more personality and desires to be myself.

I have completely dealt with the abortion and forgive myself I never had any chemical problems before this happened and feel that when things are hard that it is best to just go to Jesus and pray. His strength and His Spirit give me peace and He is my helper. Something that I never knew when I originally went on the med but now that I know Jesus He is telling me to trust Him as he heals me and renews my life.

Thankyou for your prayers.

Dear Lasere,

I am happy to hear you are doing good and healing in Christ.

Nice to know you are feeling better and have this life in Christ, He is the Sweetest!

Have you ever been to aglow meetings? Christian women meet and share Christ. I liked it when I went.

Would love to hear about your art. I have an artistic family here myself in many ways.

I will keep praying for you. What a Loving God we have!

God bless,

elkie

so can relate im 22 and have been on anti d's for 5 years. Scientific research shows that if you have been on them too long they start to work in the opposite effect. I started experiencing unusual suicidal thoughts that became just a normal way of thinking for me i didnt give a hoot about anything.

Turned out to be my meds that were making me feel that way. talk to your doctor about the down side to your medication get a physcatrist and make sure your doctor actually knows what hes talking about many dont! you need a doctor who knows his stuff when it comes to mental health. My old doctor put me through hell on earth by describing me the wrong meds. Make sure you get conselling as your coming off your meds..good luck God bless!

Not all anti-depressants have this effect, just some. Yes, talk with your doctor.

Hello Lasere,

First of all, I want you to know your situation will be in my prayers, I hear your heart crying out. When I first read your post my first concern was the fact that you are weaning your self off of your medication. (Perhalps it is the nursing in me :emot-fail:. I think that you need to be very open with the doctor who is prescribing those to you. I know from experience, even if they do not agree with your decision, they will appreciate your honesty and help you wean off safetly. Also I think it would be in your best interest to be seeing a councelor at the same time to help evaluate its effectiveness. I am not sure if you understand or not, the chemical balances that these medications cause. To taper them or complelety stop them would be very dangerous for you. When you were talking about feeling like a zombie etc, it made me think that your dose is to high. Perhalps they need to decrease your dose or try a different brand. I hope this helps, with your decision making. I think it can be done effectivley with guidance and alot of prayer :whistling: Sarah

Hello friend,

I agree with what others have said. I have been around the mental health community for over 10 years as a family member and have learned a lot about meds, counseling, etc.

As with any prescription medicine, your doctor needs to know what you are doing. Antidepressants are different than other meds in that they work differently on different individuals. In other words, you could give a 65 year old man, and a 25 year old woman the same medicine for pneumonia and the doctors can predict what the outcome will be. It is not the same for psychiatric meds (or any med that involves the brain).

My uncle had been on a blood pressure med that had an antidepressant in it. He stopped taking the bp med and he plunged into a suicidal state b/c his body had become so used to the anti-depressant.

I say "Praise the Lord" that you feel strong enough to go on without these meds and my prayer is that you can live without them! But just be careful as you do this. Tell your Christian friends what is going on as well so they can "look out for you" as the Body of Christ is called to do.

Hi,

First of all I have to strongly disagree with you "weaning" yourself off any medication. You are not a doctor, thus, you should not be self-regulating your medications. This can have a VERY adverse affect. If you are not happy with the medication that you're on, talk to your doctor. There are TONS of anti-depressants and many are quite good.

A warning if you do decide to go off anti-d- the thoughts and feelings you are going to experience are going to feel VERY STRONG because you have essentially been sedated for the last ten years (or maybe 20, i cant remember what you said.) So if you decide to do this, I recommend that you begin seeing a counselour REGULARLY and FREQUENTLY in order to have some serious help when this all starts.

Bless you.

sierra

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
