I am personally tired of how this keeps getting twisted to an anti-immigrant or anti-hispanic issue. This problem is neither racial or about immigrant rights, its about the unabated and uncontrolled invasion from south of the U.S. border. If it were an issue about immigrant rights then they would all have green cards and would be registered with the INS, but they aren't. If it were racial then you can bet that the African American community would have sided with them, but they didn't and its not. This issue is about millions of unregistered people in our nation illegally. The problem is that all these extra people and the consequences of their presense is merely a symptom of a bigger problem. Unless we take control of our southern border and clamp down on the companies that hire illegal immigrants, any efforts to assimilate those already here will be for nothing and in 10 years we will be far worse off than we are now.

Oh yes, our immigration was so legal over here. Let's see, we came over, killed off the natives who inhabited the land, enslaved some, and anytime we wanted land we killed people for it. Yes, very legal indeed. So if Mexicans did this, would you consider it legal?

Regardless, you are broadbrushing Mexican immigrants. You assume that most of these immigrants come over solely to join gangs. Though it is true some come over for gang related intentions, this is mostly a small number. I mean, how do we know when something is a stereotype and something is factual? These illegals are costing this country millions and millions in health care, food stamps, andhousing those in prison. I live in California and see first hand the problem. All of us on boarder states see it. I'm all for being here legally but don't come over hear, have child after child and then expect us the tax payers to pay for it. I"ve said it before. These illegals can get health care that I"m turned down for, but I"m asked to pay for theirs in my taxes. Not fair. They neede to go back and do it right. This may sound harsh but you would be surprised how many of us feel as I do.
