Hey everyone,

I guess I might as well I explain the title of this post. Last Sunday, while my youth pastor's wife was teaching the teen girl's sunday school class, she breifly mentioned the blood of the lamb. Honestly, I started day dreaming a bit about different issues during the lesson, but I really started to think about the blood. The most I thought about it, the most I relized that I never really knew anything about the blood .. actually.. never really cared because it didn't mean much to me for some reason.. really didnt' seem like much importance.. It was always kind of "yeah, I'm washed in the blood".. and we sing the songs "There is power in the blood" "Are You Washed in the Blood?"... but I never really thought much about it. I would say it and all.. but well, waht importance does it really have?

I know this is a key fundamental in the bible, but I realy dont' quite understand. I talked to Pastor Starr and he made sense, but was also in a hurry. I know that the blood cleanses us of our sins.. right? How? He also said that it wasn't just that Jesus died on teh cross for us, it was that his blood was shed.. I don't quite understand. Why is the blood so important and what does it really have to do with salvation?????

The life is in the blood, it is the laying down of the life of one innocent to cover the sin of another. In the temple times it was of a spotless animal, but Jesus became that spotless lamb. G0d provided a lamb, like he told Jacob he would do. The blood of animals was only temporary, but because it was mankind that sinned ( adam and eve) then it had to be atoned for with human blood, not animal blood. And G0d didn't require that , he sent himself in human form to pay that price because he loves us so much.

It's all about life and death, physical and spiritual.

I heard a sermon once about this. This is how the pastor explained:

In the Old Testament, according to law almost all things were purified with blood, without blood there was no remission of sin. Animal sacrafice was practiced and the priest filled in the gap between God and man. The priest would do this once a year in the Most Holy Place. But only once a year.

After Christ shed his blood, we now can enter the Most Holy Place any day of the year. After shedding His blood on the cross, Christ rose from the grave and proclaimed victory over sin and death.

It was love that kept Him nailed to the cross for you and for me.

Love and Blessings,

Angel

Blood is the source of ALL life... in both the physical sense and the spiritual sense. Physically speaking, it is what carries much required oxygen and nutrients to the perishable tissues of the body keeping them alive. So in the spiritual sense, it is the Blood of Christ that gives us eternal life.

The Passover described in Exodus 12 adds a deeper dimension to the purpose of the Blood.

The blood of the a sacrificial lamb, when applied to the doorframe of an Israelite's home, was a sign identifying the person who dwelled within. The death plague "passed over" these houses protecting the occupants from the destructive plague.

Exodus 12:12 "On that same night I will pass through Egypt and strike down every firstborn

Hi Wayne B. That was a great answer.

I do have a question though, isn't there only one Passover Day? followed by seven days of unleavened bread? Someone told me once that the unleavened bread signified the body of Jesus.

After the Fall, God actually slew an animal to make skin coverings for Adam and Eve's nakedness (rather than the fig leaves they had sewn together).

In the Law, we see the Lord prescribed a method by which animal sacrifices would be used to atone for sin. The price of sin was the loss of life with the shedding of blood. (For the wages of sin are death....) The animal would bear the consequence of the sin commited by the people.

This is how Jesus is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.

Make sense?

Sounds like the Lord is prompting you to do a study on the subject. Many people can

explain, their thoughts or revelations God has given them- but when the Lord gives it

to you- its an awesome thing. Have Fun!!

Based on my limited understanding, Passover, also know as Pesach, is the first of three major festivals and it lasts seven days. It includes the days of Unleavened Bread and Firstfruits. The three feasts, which make up the Passover Festival, signify the Death, Burial and Ressurrection Jesus Christ.

Theres a great book on the subject, which I recommend highly, titled "The Seven Festivals of the Messiah" (Paperback)

by Edward Chumney.

There is another excellent book on the blood called 'The Scarlet Thread' that traces the blood of the Lamb slain from before the foundation of the world from Genesis to Revelation. Understanding the power in the blood of Jesus will give you such confidence in your authority as a believer. Like Candi said, we can all tell you what God has shown us about the blood but when He reveals it to you, it will become life to you...so happy studying!

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
