Ephesians 4:14 that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, 15 but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head--Christ-- 16 from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.

17 This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk, in the futility of their mind, 18 having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart; 19 who, being past feeling, have given themselves over to lewdness, to work all uncleanness with greediness. 20 But you have not so learned Christ, 21 if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus: 22 that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, 23 and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, 24 and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness. 25 Therefore, putting away lying, "Let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor," for we are members of one another.

Eph. 5:1 Therefore be imitators of God as dear children. 2 And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.

3 But fornication and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as is fitting for saints; 4 neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks. 5 For this you know, that no fornicator, unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. 6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. 7 Therefore do not be partakers with them. 8 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light 9 (for the fruit of the Spirit* is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), 10 finding out what is acceptable to the Lord. 11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. 12 For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret. 13 But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light.

In His Love,

Suzanne

Experiencing God (September 26, 2003)

Whoever abides in Him does not sin.

Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him.

1 John 3:6

The Bible makes two things clear about sin. First, living a lifestyle of sin indicates that you are not walking in the power of the Holy Spirit, regardless of what you say about your spiritual condition. You cannot regularly spend time studying and meditating on God's Word, praying and walking in fellowship with the Holy Spirit, and persist in sin.

Second, if you do not hate sin the way God does, then you do not truly know Him. There are those who continue in their sin yet insist that they love God and belong to Him. John makes it clear: If you have a lifestyle of sin, you have not seen Him and do not know Him. You may have prayed a "sinner's prayer," or made a commitment in your church, or been baptized, but the evidence of the Holy Spirit's presence in your life is that you are defeating sin. This does not mean that you will never sin, but it does mean that you refuse to make sin a lifestyle and you immediately seek forgiveness when you sin (1 John 1:10). It means that you are opposed to sin, as God is, and you allow the Holy Spirit to eradicate every trace of sin in your life. It means that when you sin, you immediately confess it and repent of it and do whatever is necessary to avoid repeating your sin.

If you find yourself falling into sinful habits or not grieving over your sin as you once did, this indicates that you are not abiding in Christ. Return to Him in repentance; restore your fellowship with Him; and you will once again experience victory over your sin.

Hello all,

We have a question similar to the original one of this thread (Can a professed Christian be saved AND involved in ongoing sin?) posted at BiblicalDebates.com if anybody would be interested in sharing thier thoughts there. God bless,

Marvin

I think we all agree on a personal level that we do not want to persist in sin, that we love God and have no desire to be of this world. I think what we can't resolve and don't have a clear answer on is whether or not another person can still be saved and act like the devil. That puts us in a place of judgement and we are uncomfortable with that (at least I am)

So............my concluding thought is that we should live our lives in the best possible example of the victorious christian and preach the gospel and pray for the Holy Spirit to work on people's hearts.

You know when God speaks it is hard to say "God told me", but I really feel like He told me once when I was praying about a certain debate (not with anyone here) that He called me to sow the Word, not water the garden, weed it, or put out a scarecrow.

In otherwords, we can plant the seed, but we can't make it grow.

Love yall!

I'm done :P

Experiencing God (September 29, 2003)

For this commandment which I command you today

is not too mysterious for you, nor is it far off.

Deuteronomy 30:11

The Christian life is not difficult. The same Christ who lived a perfect, obedient, and sinless life stands prepared to live it again through you (Gal. 2:20). God's will is not hard to discern. He has given us the Scriptures, which reveal His will, and He has placed His Holy Spirit within us to guide us to His perfect will in every situation (John 16:13). Our greatest challenge will be to wholly commit our lives to follow God's will obediently as He reveals it.

Moses gathered the Israelites around Mount Ebal and Mount Gerizim before they were to enter the Promised Land. There, God described what they had to do in order to obey Him. God gave detailed instructions so there was no mistaking what was expected of them. Then God asked them to make a choice. If they chose to disobey His commands, they would face His wrath. If they chose to obey, they would receive His blessing.

God's Word comes to you in the same way. It is not too complex to understand. You don't have to struggle to discern God's will about adultery or forgiveness or honesty. God's Word is perfectly clear. The question is, how will you respond? Nowhere in Scripture did God excuse disobedience because His instructions were too vague or complex. Condemnation came because they knew exactly what God wanted them to do, yet they chose not to do it! God, through His Holy Spirit, will always give you sufficient revelation and strength to take the next step with Him. If you are uncertain about what God is asking of you, make sure that you are obeying all that you do know; and through your obedience, God's next instruction will become clear.

Amen to that!

G-d bless you all! :)

Greetings in Jesus Christs Peace and Love,

It is difficult to live in your Fathers house and not obey. Ask Arrons sons.

It is heartwarming to the Father to see a Son obey.

Can you really hear the Father if you are in sin????

Isn't the worst thing about hell the seperation from the Father? Whilst we still have Grace grasp hold of it. Stregthen your faith. For Grace is here yet another day. Grace is good. It is not just a nice squishy religious feeling. It is what empowers us to have a relationship with the Father. You cannot fathom what that seperation will mean. How when there is no Grace, there is no Faith. No hope of living in your Fathers house. No chance of being an obedient Son . Heartwarming to your Father, in His very Will. Oh' my how I weep for the lost. How I long for their Salvation whilst there is still Grace! Oh' my how I weep for those whom once merited Grace. Then went back to them selves for a warm squishy religiousity. A feeling that now I have made Peace with my Father. Let me go live. LIVE WHAT? For the Father is life. Grace is not a fleeting moment , but a lifetime of obedience to the Will of the source of that life. That very life you sqaunder. That inheritence you value. Return it to the father and see if it isn't magnified 10 fold. Offer Him what He desires an obedient Son. Not just 10 percent but all of the very Life He gave.

Let the Holy Spirit search out your heart. Let Him circumcise the very thing seperating you from the Father. Let Him have all of your heart ,strength , and Soul! Live like an obedient Son! When you fail say "Father I'm sorry! I repent and seek your correction and tender Mercy!" Act now while Grace is still sufficient! :il:

G-d Bless you Brethren! :)

sin? well here is how i feel about sin since the Lord so graciously saved me.

I HATE SIN , PERIOD...

Now do i ever sin?

my spirit is still inside of this flesh and yes i fall short and sin..

Do i want to?

NO NO NO , I HATE IT WHEN I SIN. I JUST HATE IT. And i REPENT IMMEDIATELY WHEN I DO.

There is NOT a just man upon earth that doeth good and sinneth Not....eccl.7;20

There is NONE righteous NO NOT ONE..Rom.3;10

When the Lord saved me, He put a new desire into me, and that desire was to strive my best not to sin and to please Him.

And i thank Him for that new creature that i am in HIM.

but like the word says, there is not one that sinneth Not.

JESUS CHRIST IS THE ONLY PERFECT ONE WHO EVER WALKED THIS EARTH AND WHO DID NOT SIN.

GOD BLESS AND HAVE A GOOD DAY.....Until the shout that wil take us out, much love in Christ, dare

THANK YOU LORD JESUS.

Well, since I was being inconsiderate in sidetracking the other topic, I figured I'd just start a new one and see if there would be any more response here?:wub:

How does ongoing sin factor into the salvation equation?

Can a professed Christian be saved AND involved in ongoing sin?

What do you think...........according to the Scriptures?

I'll be curious to see how anyone will answer and the discussion on this.

In His Love,

Suzanne

As a repentant sinner my life is hidden in Christ and when I sin if I confess the sin as sin He will forgive me and my life remains hidden in Christ as I abide in Him.

Now as Christ abides in me, my body no longer belongs to me, it belong to Jesus Christ so that He can live in and through me. The more I overcome the things of this world the more Jesus Christ can manifest Himself through me and others who overcome the things of this world. As we work together in the hot and cold workings of the Lord we can see Spiritually the coming of the Lord as lightning going from east to west.

Brad, your response is great.

"I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your impurities and from all your idols. I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh" Ezekiel 36:25, 26

We are all born sinners. God calls his to Him. We chose to answer. We go to God as a sinner, we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour. We are cleansed by the "blood of the Lamb"

Yet daily we all as Christians sin. Most important is to ask for His forgiveness.

His Lady,

Asking forgivness is first one the list and foremost. But after that we must fully realize Jesus Christ in us and that we should yeild to him so that He can live through us.

Most think that Jesus is away from them in heaven or that when He returns He will be physically over here or there as we are on earth.

I see that heaven must be in the heart of a born again believer for that is where Jesus lives and it's a spiritual place that He can return to earth, in and through His church

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
