Greed is a sin no matter what you call it. Just remember that not everyone who is fat is gluttonous.

This is a good subject in which i have wondered about. my thoughts are that eating food is not a sin in fact eating your bread to the full in a blessing from the Lord in the bible. If food was a sin then we would have to stop eating to remain clean before the Lord. There are lot of teachings going on to day that we should abstain from meats and certain types of food. which is a sign that we are living in the last days to us recorded in timothy

i think it a wise thing to take care of your body it just is good sense. Those who have illnesses will live longer if they take care and eat good foods say like in the case of diabetes it is just good sense.

Jesus taught that it was not what went into our bodies that made us unclean and he was speaking about the foods we eat when he said this but Jesus said that it was the sins that were inside of our hearts that was what made us unclean not food or eating with unwashen hands and Jesus also taught that the body even purges itself into the drought. meaning what we take into our bodies in the way of food and drink will be cleansed or go from our bodies when we got to go to the restroom to put it plainly. So we do not have to worry in this regards as far as abstaining from certain foods the body takes care of that for us. and Jesus has purchased our bodies by his precious blood so we are as clean body wise as we ever gonna be IMO by the blood of Jesus

Jesus taught us that we could eat anything that was sold in the market place in the shambles so food is not unclean not a sin to eat.

Now the subject was gluttony so i will address this and i will reinterate first that it is not a sin but a blessing from the Lord to be able to eat your bread to the full and not be hungry still after you have eaten as you can see very clearly in the more povern stricken countries to give you idea of what i am saying in this regards.

Gluttonous is over induldging in something where you get so much of it you get sick most people who over eat that i have observed do not go to this point even in eating disorders when they go on binges they don't go this far or they wouldn't have to make themselves vomit right. But the way I see gluttony is getting so much of something that you don't need and storing up the excess and I don't necessarily think that is fat.

the book of james refers to those who have stored or heaped up money by wrong means and so it will be a witness against them one day at judgment ebenezzar scrooge come to mind here.

but anyway let me stop rambling i just think that when gluttony was spoken of in the bible it was not referring to natural gluttony referring to food as most people assume but it was talking about spiritual gluttony as the people were let's say eatlng drinking and be merry giving themselves to marriage and so forth vasting in and over indulging in their sins without any regards for the will of God. They were eating from the "table" of the world instead of the "table" of the Lord. and we are not to eat from the table of the world.

Thus spiritual gluttony which is not addressed by the church is the real meaning and not overeating although it is just plain wise to take care of yourself but it profited little as timothy say but godliness with contentment is great gain. Just my thoughts I sure I get some back lash on this one. blessings

Hello!

I have a problem with choosing the wrong kinds of food to eat. Candy, donuts (i had 3 today) seem to be a big problem with me.

I was recently told I am a diabetic. So I have not been eating pure sugar.(except the donuts today)

I now eat sugarless candy, popcycles, ice cream and anything else I can get that has no sugar in it.

Last week I lost 1 pound. This week I lost another pound. So by making better choices I am going down instead of my weight going up.

It takes time to put the weight on and it takes a long time to take it off.

hi snow,

I think it will be hard for you to make the changes in general it will take some time as you just recently found this out but it looks like you are on the right track in your choices except for the 3 donuts but it good to know those donuts are not a sin that will condemn your soul to hell if you partake or eat them i pray you can continue in this way so you will live long and prosper in the Lord.

Then perhaps it is a spiritual hunger in which you are trying to fill up and don't or haven't recognized it yet. Perhaps you should pull away and read your bible and fill up on the manna from heaven awhile for man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
