I would like to open a discussion on the revelation of the Triune God in the Scriptures. When the Lord resurrected one of the first things He did was to open up the Scriptures to His followers and to the disciples, revealing Himself from Moses to the books of the prophets (Luke 24:27, 32, 34). Then in the first book of Acts we read that the Lord appeared to disciples on several occasions over a period of forty days speaking the things concerning the kingdom of God.

Through the Holy Spirit we have the Scriptures opened up to us. We can see the things of the kingdom of the heavens and, through revelation in the Spirit we can view the Triune God in the Scriptures. To open, I would like to show God

Actually, Godman, I do not have time tonight, but I would like to respond to this account #1 before you continue.

I will try to address it tomorrow night . . . if you can wait.

Peace,

William

G-man... I have heard it explained that it was Jesus Christ following the Hebrew children in the cloud based on I Corinthians 10:1-4. I notice you see it another way. While we are waiting on blindseeker could you expound on this? I know the Rock is Jesus. No doubt about it. But, the Rock followed them and that Rock is Christ. He didn't follow them as a physical Rock. Did He follow them in the cloud? Jesus is God and has always been right along with the Father and the Holy Spirit. I do agree with what you were saying also.

I Corinthians 10:

1. Moreover, brethern, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;

2. And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;

3. And did all eat the same spiritual meat;

4. And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they that drank of the spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.

What about in Genesis? The Triune is shown in the first two chapters or are we supposed to go back that far?

In Genesis 1: 1 ... "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

Genesis 1:2... "... And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the water.

Genesis 2:9... "... the tree of life also in the midst of the garden..."

Genesis 2:4 is retelling the story of creation and this time adds the "tree of life."

Would this be the Father creating, the Holy Spirit moving across the water and the Son of God, Jesus Christ being symbolically the "tree of life" in the midst of the garden? This showing the Triune, then God was talking to Christ and the Holy Spirit when He said, "Let us make man in our image."

Good thread God-man,

I have some input as well but want to see how this goes and give others a chance 1st.

Like your insight into the Rock and yours too Dove.

I have been involved in a debate with "Oneness Theology" and must admit they bring some good cards to the table. But I myself believe in 3 Persons in one Godhead. Thid will be a helpful topic to me.

Yes, I believe that there were several incarnations of Christ in the Old Testament. The pillars of smoke and fire that followed the children of Israel in the wilderness is one example. Abraham also met the Lord before the destruction of Soddom, and Joshua met the Lord before the destruction of Jericho.

Paul wrote that things in the Scriptures were give as shadows, types and figures. Therefore, when we read accounts in the Old Testament such as Moses striking the rock, we can see in typology the connection of the Triune God's salvation of His people. The Lord used these examples to reveal Himself to His disciples in a spiritual way, not literally, such as in John 3 where He revealed Himself as the bronze serpent, and later where He revealed Himself as the reality of the ladder in Jacob's dream.

Very interesting. I had not thought of the ladder in Jacob's dream. I will have to reread on that. I am very interested in what all have to say. This will be a very interesting study. I am sure there are many instances that I haven't thought of or that the Lord has not shown me. Great topic G-man. I'm interested in what you have to say also J.

After making a post in another thread it occured to me that I have been possibly missing an example. When Elijah faced off with the prophet of baal, Elijah erected 12 stones, one each for the tribes of Israel, for his alter. He placed the sacrifice on it and poured water on that. Then God sent down the fire from heaven to consume the sacrifice.

Do you think this is an example?

Great Trav. One thing needs to be mentioned here and it will show the Triune for a fact. Elijah said that God would answer with fire. So, the fire was God, the water the Holy Spirit and the sacrifce the Son of God.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

      Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

      This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

      You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

      Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

      I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

      For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

      2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

      So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

      Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
      Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

      Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

      As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

      As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

      Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
      Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

      So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
