I like some of the new stuff out there real well. If it glorifies Christ and is not sung like a yoga mantra.

Here is a grea hymn by William Cowper 1731-1800

Of course this hymn is one everyone loves!

I love this one because it speaks of "Grace" and how we have nothing to offer God and yet He offers us Salvation in the name of of all names.

We sing that one occassionally at my church, it's a great hymn!

My favourite is probably My Jesus, My Saviour. There is another one I love but memory escapes me at the moment!

I love the hymn "Rock of Ages" too.

This stanza blows me away because it speaks of God's grace and that we can bring nothing to the throne. It is all God and His love for us that keeps us from the punishment we deserve.

Not the labors of my hands,

Can fulfill Thy law's demands;

These for sin could not atone;

Thou must save, Thou alone:

In my hand no price I bring,

Simply to the cross I cling.

"How Great Thou Art" has to be my favorite. I sing it every time we have a storm. It just bubbles up inside of me.

I sure miss the old hymns in the church service. I haven't found a church yet that still sings them.
