:24:

No, that's not what I was saying at all! Never do I want us to go around pushing nations to the ground simply because we have the power to do so. I don't know how, why, or where you got that impression from my posts.

Unless, of course, you were not addressing me at all....

It is good to know that we can protect ourselves if the time comes, though. :th_praying:

If you choose to ignore what is happening, or gloss it over and excuse it as something we deserve in the first place, that is up to you. I don't plan on pulling my pants down and bending over a desk so that Iran can come along and spank me for being a bad boy.

The way I see it, it comes down to this:

1. Deal with Iran now.

2. Wait until they have nukes, and then deal with them. That one might make you feel better about yourself as an American, but it kinda scares me.

3. Ignore them, pull out of every country and worry about ourselves and then deal with them anyway when they come-a-knockin' on our door later on.

Door number one, door number two, or door number three?

t.

Ted -

The only problem with your options are that enough people out there do not believe that other nations would bother us if we pulled out of the world scene and bow our authority to the UN.

Hey, the UN has done so much for Somolia, hasn't it? :th_praying:

Ted - militarily we're not in a position to wage another war. Diplomacy is all we've really got. The good news is that it looks like Iran is ready to talk......not be bullied. Here's a pretty good article I came across [link]

True enough. If you listen close, we have about as many friends as Israel does today. On one hand, we could shrug it off and do things ourselves- but that brings repricussions like we are dealing with today on the world stage.

On the other hand, we can do what we did prior to 9/11- which is to say, nothing.

We do have some solid friendship from the UK, Australia, and a few others, but for the most part the UN has put the clamps on us. To think that it all come about because we were enforcing their resolutions in the first place makes things all the more ironic!

Actually, we are not as bad off as some would like you to believe and read about- militarily speaking, that is. We are still strong. A little tired, but still strong.

Could we handle an all-out war with Iran right now? Yes, but it would be tough and we would need a lot of help. To go it alone on this one, or in North Korea, would be stretching things to their breaking point, I fear.

Interestingly, that's why I think you will see us a little more open to negotiations with Iran and North Korea in the coming weeks. Iraq and Afghanistan are not completed yet, but our numbers are lower there, if you take a close look. We won't announce any pullbacks of massive numbers due to the enemy trying to take advantage of the situation, but we are coming home silently in small numbers. We are also in the process of building several more Divisions worth of troops as we speak. That will mean 50-100 thousand more to be ready in the next few years.

Regardless, the move against Iran and/ or N. Korea will be heavily reliant on air strikes and unmanned machines for the most part. We don't want to invade these two. The goal there is to take out their ability to produce nukes- not regime change like in the cases of Iraq and Afghanistan.

It's going to be hot on the negotiation tables in the next few months. I think we will see Iran and Korea beginning to calm down a bit in the near future, and I also think that many of the countries that opposed us in Iraq will join in with us against Iran and Korea on the television sets.

I also think that Abinadinajihad (or whatever) in Iran will suddenly fall out of power somehow within a year or two. Most of Iran want's nothing to do with war with us, but they are fairly helpless against their President at the moment. Perhaps with a little urging they could remove him from office.....? :th_praying:

Anyway, don't believe all of the hype when it comes to articles declaring our Military as worn out and useless. It's not the complete picture of the situation. We are a bit tired and need a little break, that much is true. But, if the need arises, we'll be there for you- you can bet your last shiny nickel on that.

All in all, Iran has to be dealt with sooner or later. Hopefully, it can be over a few beers at Camp David. If not, well, life goes on, I guess.

It was about oil; not strategic alliances; read some history.

I don't think they'll use them if they get them..unless they're threatened and backed into a corner. Many countries and peoples of the world consider the United States the biggest sponsorer of terrorism on the planet. We just give it "nice" names when we're sponsoring it; we justify it when we're involved with it.

One thing is for sure; if they get nukes they won't have to worry about our CIA meddling in their affairs again. Possessing nukes has a way of leveling the playing field.

dude' i can't believe you're actually an american. whose side are u on?

Other then the word dude I side with you. I cannot believe someone can be so misinformed about how dangerous this country is. If North Korea and Iran get together there is going to be major trouble for the US. Sometimes people make me wonder if there not only an American but even from this planet. We are at war against all terrorist nations, and that includes Iran. Wake up antihillbilly. Also I think it was suggested antihillbilly that you change your name.

The leader of Iran boasts that he wants to create global chaos in order to usher in the Muslim "messiah", and this makes you feel better?

Everyone forgets (or never knew to begin with) that the reason Iran is our enemy in the first place is because our CIA overthrew their reform government in the 1950s and supported a brutal dictator known as the Shah of Iran [link]. Same thing in Chili, same thing in Panama.

I think we should leave Iran alone. They're an independent nation and have as much right to develop nuclear weapons as anyone else.

Irania leaders have come out to say they hate isreal and want to wipe them off the face of the map. how better to do so with a couple of nuclear missles?

Dude, I believe in telling the truth; people don't like the truth though. True patriotism should involve telling the truth, admitting when you're in the wrong and working from there to make it better next time. -- Our so-called "crisis" with Iran didn't happen overnight, it began 50 yrs ago when our govt butted into their business. Lunacy is when you think you can do that and not have it bomerang back on you. "Might does not make right" as American colonists proved to the world's superpower Great Britain 225 yrs ago.

Iran won't be bombed back to the stone age; too much oil.

BTW - You guys can all verify what I'm telling you for yourselves. It's not like it's some big secret. It's documented historical fact. Surely you don't fall for that line that the terrorists hate us for our freedom do you?

concerning all the oil you speak of is underrated. The arabs in the middle easter countries suck their oil wells dry and do not know how to obtain the oil from them right and are ruining them and in 5 - 10 years or so they will be useless adn then boom, bam, bang

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
