As for Jihad, I call for jihad if my country is invaded by aliens!! If I were an Iraqi or a Libanese or an Afgan ,I 'd take an arm against the oppressor. and YOU would call for a 'jihad' if your country was invaded.it is obvious!

as for the blind, heartless crimes by some islamist groups ( especially the Wahhabis) , I am really against them. In Islam, Jihad has many meanings /ramifications. But a moslem must follow some rules if he is to be called a jihadist.

Here is the weekly topic about Christianity I suggest:

Christ was a man not God. He never says in the NT that he is Divine or God Incarnate.

"He who has ears to hear, let him hear."

This was how Jesus taught and preached and led.

His method was to provide people with the clues they needed to discover who He is for themselves - for those who actually sought to look and listen and know and understand.

He still works this way.

Think about it: if Jesus stood on top of the Mountain and yelled out to the world, "I am God," how many would believe Him? Wouldn't He be considered a lunatic?

But, if He fulfills Scripture and keeps pointing to those Scriptures and offers clues and teasers, wouldn't those who came to believe in Him do so because they sought to understand and discover Him for themselves?

Which scenario makes for the true followers?

Anyway, I think the fact that Muslim terrorists interpret the scriptures to mean something other than peace is not much of a surprise after reading many verses of the Koran, and yes, in their context.

I just read through the thread and realize that you want to answer the question of Jesus proclaiming deity.

Yes, he did, many times actually. He also had the power to forgive sins. No other 'prophets' did either of these. As well, no others were born of a virgin.

"I am the way, the truth and the life, no man comes to the Father except by me." is just one example where Jesus proclaims deity but there are many more. But I also know that since you believe Mohammed was the final prophet who was qualified to edit and delete the works of the 44 men who came before him, I believe I could post these scriptures all day long and you would respond that they were corrupted, so would it prove anything if I even bothered? If it will prove something to you, I'll post more.

So lets get to the point of Jesus coming to earth through Virgin Birth, which I know you would agree with. How do you think Mary got pregnant?

And... if all of the books that Christians beleive we are holding as the real truth of God is actually not, then where are the REAL truths, that had been corrrupted? Are they all lost? If yes, why did God allow incorrect teachings to go on for thousands of years, until Mohammed came along to finally set the record straight?

I know that many civilians have died in Iraq and that is obviously terrible if you lose family/friends in war. (Although many are being killed in Iraq by their fellow Muslims in their "jihad") However, if people invaded Britain (where I live) to give us a greater measure of democracy then I would be all for it. And if they also put our politicians on trial then I would absolutely love it!

How has the U.S. etc. oppressed Iraq? Iraq now has an elected government. The constitution was approved by referendum. Doesn't it sound better than Saddam Hussein? If Muslims want to wage jihad in Iraq then all it does is (a) harm Iraq, and (b) keep U.S. etc. military forces in the country for a longer time.
