This may be an impossible question to answer, because there are a million different circumstances that may factor it, but here it goes.

When we are saved, we are forgiven, right? I know the differce being saved makes in one's life, but I see people often have to face the consequences of thier past life; we reap what we sow. Gal 6:7

So, if God's wrath is no longer on us, how should we take this? As punishment? How do you take something like that without feeling condemed? I know God wants to show us where we are wrong, so we can be better. This is really awful, and I know it's not true, but I worry God will be like "I forgive you" (and he always does, thank God), and then later bring on a sucker punch in the stomach for something that he forgave and forgot. Am I totally off my rocker? Is my mind warped? People cannot get away with things, I know, it's not right. But what's the difference going through something hard saved or unsaved, if God is mad at you either way?

PS- hope I was clear, it's hard to write exactly what I'm thinking. And yes, I AM saved.

Not all of the bad things that happen to us are Gods wrath or punishment.

John MacArthur is doing a study on this right now.

So far he has named 3 of the 5 reasons bad things happen.

I can give you 3 of them but I have to wait till his sermon tomorrow to tell you the other 2.

1- to reveal out true nature.

You can look at the way people react to bad circumstances and see where they are in their walk with Jesus.

2- To humble us.

We get so caught up in the things we accomplish in life that we forget or fail to give God the credit for it all.

3- To draw us closer to God.

What do we do when we are in a bad situation? We pray from our hearts to God for help. It makes us seek God.

I see. I give in sometimes to distractions the devil likes to give. I think I think too much. I know God is awesome, and the most worthy person I've met of my trust. He doesn't work like people. God is good! I mean, Jesus does not want us to feel condemed, then we won't pray to him and stuff. I'm sorry, I'm now very aware why I wrote this post, it belongs in the encouragement/advice section, not the doctrinal questions. (sorry) Thank you Jesus!

The quick answer is to take the advice of Giaour. John MacArthur is a sold preacher and teacher -- one of the very few preachers on television and radio that I ever suggest people to listen to, other than R.C. Sproul.

You can be sure that God will not forget the sufferings of Christ on your behalf. That's where you need to find your identity, in Christ, and not in what you're doing or not doing, and certainly not in what you did in the past! The notion that God is angry with you is a product of your sinful imagination. I've got one of those too.

You can always trust the promises of God. Whatever suffering you experience now works for your good and for the glory of God, whether you understand it yet (or ever in this life) or not. God had his heart set upon rescuing you from your sin and misery, even from eternity past. The Father, Son and Holy Spirit discussed your entire life, planned for your birth, your conversion, your sanctification, and your glorification, even before the words "Let there be light" were spoken. Rest assured that all things work together for good to those who are called according to the purpose of God. God purposed to save you. He will never leave nor forsake you.

Rejoice in the fact that hard times cause you to run TO God rather than from him. That's what hard times do to those who are not truly saved. They may look saved for a little while, but when hard times come, they blame God, and do not cease to blame God, and get as far from him as possible. You and I may become frustrated, and though we should pray hard that we would not, we may even blame God. However, if we belong to him, the Spirit of Christ abiding in us will not allow us to carry that sort of wicked notion about God for long, and will bring us to repentance. And that's what we will be doing for the rest of our lives until the Last Day -- repentance of our sins, and faith in Christ, repentance of our sins, and faith in Christ ...

I understand what you are talking about.....

think about how the accounts of David's Life was......

in one account, there is the incident of the woman on the roof, and he is watching her, and then... yep, and then..... a man dies, and a child dies, and..........

satan is using this against David in his trial, and God is using the other account of David's life....

satan: but it is right here, he had this man placed in dangers way, so that he would be killed and and and....

God: nope, dont see it here... not in my book it isn't.....

satan: but I saw the whole thing happen, and it is written right here....(Kings)

God: you forget, he asked forgiveness and repented, and it no longer shows up in my revised book...(Chronicles)

this is how it will look for us, we ask forgivenes and repent..... thing is, alot of people do not repent.

everyone of us will answer for each and every word we utter - good, bad and indifferent,

each and every one of us will answer for every deed we do - good, bad and indifferent.

we have been forgiven, and once we have accepted Christ as our Savior, our Lord, our Master, we become saved, this does not give us any right to continue to live in sin (doing the same things over and over and over again, this would be the same as placing Christ back on the cross over and over again. this is not pleasing to God....

i have heard people say that it is ok to do something cause they are saved and once saved always saved, but the fruit of their work does not show this.... they obviously do not love the Lord, for if they did, they would keep His Commandments..... their salvation is even in question, for they are not producing fruit, muchless, Lasting Fruit....

Fear of the Lord God Almighty has gone by the way side. people do not fear the Lord anymore. for that matter, they do not even respect Him or Honor Him any more.

the penalty of sin is death, the penalty for breaking the law is death. the law has not been done away with, it has been fulfilled. the penalties have not been done away with. those that have have accepted salvation will not have the penalty of the law brought upon them, for they have been pardoned, but, we are told that we will stand and account for every thing in our lives....

this will not be a fun time, even those that are saved, this does not mean they are lost, just will have to answer for our lives.

some people will have a rude awakening, when they find out that repentance is not the same thing as pentance.

those that have truely taken Christ into their hearts, bare fruit as such, they have become a new creation, a creature that is no longer doing the same things as they once did.

a person will slip up, and they should ask forgiveness and move on, God is faithful to us, and it will be forgiven, already has been.

As far as the east is from the west that is how far he hath removed our transgressions.

Sometimes we have a poor image of God- sometimes how we see God like our physical father, etc.

He would never sucker punch you. We just have to learn from our mistakes and He will give us his ability to do it.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
