I have left a congregation (independent/non-denom/pentecostal bent) because elements of the Latter Rain and Manifested Sons of God (maybe Moral Government Theology) are infiltrating it.

Because of what I learned, I left my congregation but can a child of God leave others in darkness?

Congratulations, darski. You actually used your brain in conjunction with your spirit and exercised some old fashioned, Spirit-led discernment. Too many Christians today have no clue about their history and the fact that the heresies you mentioned pop up over and over again. Did you encounter the "Sons of David" nonsense in your church? Wacky stuff.

Anyway, it is doubtful anybody in the church would listen to you. You need to draft a letter to your pastor and tell him why you left, but I wouldn't waste time with the rest, unless they come to you. You'll only be seen as a troublmaker.

There is nothing wrong with worship or seeking the Spirit, but over-emphasizing anything is not healthy. What you end up with are a bunch of people who can't sit still for the exposition of the Word for want of "manifestations" of the Spirit (or spirit or whatever).

There is a growing problem with false teaching in the church. We are told in the Word that this is a sign of the last days.

1 Timothy 4

1Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

If in fact these are the last of the last days before the Lord comes back, then there will be no great revival..............the opposite will happen instead.

2 Thessalonians 2

1Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,

2That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.

3Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

This doctrine of dominionism creates a god-like man and the God who created man can only do something if we give him permission. It also teaches to store up riches on earth because it is the right of the sons of God to have the wealth of the wicked...............but Jesus said....

Luke 12

13Someone in the crowd said to him, "Teacher, tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me."

14Jesus replied, "Man, who appointed me a judge or an arbiter between you?" 15Then he said to them, "Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; a man's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions."

16And he told them this parable: "The ground of a certain rich man produced a good crop. 17He thought to himself, 'What shall I do? I have no place to store my crops.'

18"Then he said, 'This is what I'll do. I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods. 19And I'll say to myself, "You have plenty of good things laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry." '

20"But God said to him, 'You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?'

21"This is how it will be with anyone who stores up things for himself but is not rich toward God."

Mrk 4:; 19but the worries of this life, the deceitfulness of wealth and the desires for other things come in and choke the word, making it unfruitful

Many of the teachers use coveteousness in their teaching and don't even know it....

2 Peter 2:1But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.

2And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.

3And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.

We are seeing this at an alarming rate.

Wow..........there's so much more to these things......I don't have time to write.

In his love,

Brian

Five-fold ministryThis is a teaching that in the last days, God will appoint: apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers. (Pastors and teachers are one thing but some people can't count) This teaching is designed to give authority to leaders so that they can bring in a fresh revelation for these times - they appoint themselves as Apostles with resulting Apostolic Authority. They need Prophets for New Revelations This is just a power grab.

There is a difference between teachers and pastors and I would honestly think that would be evident. You don't have Sunday School "pastors" now do you? I agree that there is a problem when we start seeking "new revelations" above and beyond what the Bible says. However, I do believe the office of prophet is still valid today. We read in the NT of Agabus prophecying twice and the book of Revelation is prophecy as well as given to John. God is the same yesterday, today, and forever with no shadow of turning, so I'm stumped why some would think the office of prophet is no longer valid.

You couldn't be more right, Brian. The real funny thing is, Christians never seem to learn; all the things we see creeping into the church today are nothing new at all, yet so many embrace the old heresies, which have been retooled for each successive generation, like they were new. Jude is excellent at describing how false teachers work.

When God gives us a word, we listen. We don't seek a prophetic word. A congregation who is lukewarm wouldn't hear it anyway.

Satan hasn't had an original idea in 6,ooo years.

"You shall be as gods" - you'd think that whole expulsion/entropy/death thing would have told us something.

At the meetings I've been to with a worship focus, they also engage in intercession, Scripture reading, and teaching of Scripture within the the worship. I never found it to be an "overemphasis" of anything but rather a more proactive way of engaging the entire congregation in the service.

Watch Trinity TV. "Apostles, Prophets & Prophetesses" tend to climb off the wall. The Holy Scriptures emphasis Twelve Apostles - not 212 - all appointed personally by Jesus Christ and all eye-witnesses of His glorious resurrection. Isn't it quite something in these latter times that so many Christian believers wish earnestly to be something other than what they are, something that accrues power to them - it's called "power-grab" - & it elevates them over & above their brothers & sisters in Christ Jesus?! "And all ye are brothers & sisters..." Windbaggery's definitely on the rise among our faith-healing charismatic friends, yes?

Not all charismatics are "faith-healing". :whistling:

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
