But, to answer the question:

Free will isn't a theory. You can choose to post here, or not. That's free will. Every time we make choices, we are exercising our free will.

Having said that, saying, "Aside from the 'free will theory' " in connection to your question is like me asking you, "Aside from the Law of Gravity, why don't I float off the Earth and out into space?"

We all fail. Even bringing a child into the world is setting him or her up for failure. It's inevitable. It's how we are. It's human nature. God didn't want a bunch of mindless robots who couldn't make decisions for themselves. That's why He put the Tree there. He gave us the choice, and is continually giving us the choice: Him, or not. Choosing anything but Him is always a failure, and it's one most of us, Christian or no, make every day.

But, because He loves us, He gave us a way out. He gave us Jesus. Jesus paid the price for all our failures. He can pay the price for any and all mistakes and mess ups you ever have and ever will make, Serpentine, if you let Him.

I'm just wondering...why did God put the The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil in the garden if He didn't want Adam to eat of it? Aside from the free will theory, why did He do that when He had the foreknowledge that man would fall? That seems odd to me.

Personally, I wouldn't set my child up for certain failure.

Ane hey...where did the angel with the flaming sword go? And where did the Garden go? Are they still there????

Though you try to throw a monkey wrench into this thread you are not going to shake our faith. For we are the head and you are the tail and we claim this garden for the Lord.

Questions

Why did God put the Tree of the knowledge of good and evil in the garden if He didn't want Adam to eat of it? Aside from the freewill theory, why did He do that when He had the foreknowledge that man would fall?

Answer

Though it seems hard or odd to you it's really quite simple. God did not create man inherently evil but good for all that God created in the beginning God pronounced that at the end of the day that it was good. God is not a slave master like Satan who has to tempt mankind into doing evil. When God created Adam he had no knowledge whatsoever of what evil was for it was not in the world yet. But what was in the world was God's law not to eat of it cause if you do you will surely die. Man was governed by that one law and protected from evil as long as he obeyed the law.

But old serpentine slipped into the garden cause he had to somehow get that man Adam to eat of that tree in order to enslave the human race taking them captive against there will. So the serpent brought temptation and enticement to the woman and tricked her by lying to her that she would not surely die and she ate the fruit of the tree and gave to Adam. And then there eyes were opened to the evil because of the serpent not God as man was protected by obedience and doing good because he could only choose good for man did not know evil so he obeyed the one law. And that is why the serpent had to use trickery and temptation to get them to fall and it worked man fell and evil was in the world and they knew they was naked. So it wasn't God it was serpentine using his trickery the blame needs to go the right one.

You say personally you wouldn't set your child up for such failure. No I guess you wouldn't but you would give rules and make boundaries to obey in order they would be safe. God gave one law one rule that governed them for their safety as Satan was already a created being and it was he in whom he was trying to protect His children of as he rebelled against God.

Where did the angel with the flaming sword go? the angel with the flaming sword was a cherub angel. So the cherub angel returned to the throne of God as that is where the cherub angel resides ministering on His behalf.

the wheel within the wheel Ezekiel ch 1 & Ezekiel 10:18-20; Revelation 4:7-10 the churubims worship God day and night and minster on behalf of God when he speaks.

As far as where the garden of Eden is at now is it is not known as there was a flood in Noah's time that destroyed all the people and animals that was not saved on the ark so everything was wiped out in the earth everything was totally covered in water. so it is uncertain at this time in history to know the exact where abouts as some believe it is still under water. Cain in the book of Genesis 4:16-17 went out from the presence of the Lord and dwelt in the land of Nod that was on the east side of the garden of Eden and took a wife from those that were living on the east side. As the family of the earth grew they started spreading out from the garden.

Just want to tell you that your thread has been a tremendous blessing to me personally help me get through lot of troubled nights. I so thank you for obeying the Lord's leading to do this. It help to ease troubled mind and heart as depend on word so much to keep me.

Exodus 27

1. And thou shalt make an altar of Shittim wood, five cubits long, and five cubits broad; the altar shall be foursquare: and the height thereof shall be three cubits.

2. And thou shalt make the horns of it upon the four corners thereof: his horns shall be of the same: and thou shalt overlay it with brass.

3. And thou shalt make his pans to receive his ashes, and his shovels, and his basons, and his fleshhooks, and his firepans: all the vessels thereof thou shalt make of brass.

9. And thou shalt make the court of the tabernacle: for the south side southward there shall be hangings for the court of fine twined linen of an hundred cubits long for one side:

10. And the twenty pillars thereof and their twenty sockets shall be of brass; the hooks of the pillars and their fillets shall be of silver.

11. And likewise for the north side in length there shall be hangings of an hundred cubits long, and his twenty pillars and their twenty sockets of brass; the hooks of the pillars and their fillets of silver.

12. And for the breadth of the court on the west side shall be hangings of fifty cubits: their pillars ten, and their sockets ten.

13. And the breadth of the court on the east side eastward shall be fifty cubits.

14. The hangings of one side of the gate shall be fifteen cubits: their pillars three, and their sockets three.

15. And on the other side shall be hangings fifteen cubits: their pillars three, and their sockets three.

16. And for the gate of the court shall be an hanging of twenty cubits, of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen, wrought with needlework: and their pillars shall be four, and their sockets four.

21. In the tabernacle of the congregation without the vail, which is before the testimony, Aaron and his sons shall order it from evening to morning before the Lord: it shall be a statute for ever unto their generations on the behalf of the children of Israel.

      I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

      For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

      2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices. 

      So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

      Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end. 
      Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house. 

      Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

      Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
      Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

      So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
