The Jesus of the Book of Mormon destroyed many.

Hi to all fellow board readers,

It is interesting to note that the Book of Mormon teaches that Jesus destroyed many sinners

when he died on the cross! you can read it for yourselves in 3 Nephi chapter 9 in the Book of

Mormon. In chapter 8 the destruction starts with much lightning and the darkness prevails into Chater 9,

by then a loud voice claimed the destruction of many cities, suppose to be Jesus (about 15 cities are destroyed

by this Jesus) If one was to study the cronology of this horrible event, it is suppose to take place at the time of Christ

death on the cross. The darkness is thick, so thick that no light can penitrate, and the Lord had not yet

been raised from the dead in the resurrected form, so this voice is just a Ghost of Christ or phantom

creating the destruction on these sinners.

The bible is clear about Christ's love for sinners, and this is the main reason why he died on the cross, (1 Tim 1:15)

In that while we were sinners Christ died for us. The blood of christ is the means by which God saves the sinner,

for His son was given as a sacrifice to save the ungodly from his sins.

Therefore the cross is an act of mercy and forgiveness and not for the destructions of so many sinners in the Americas,

as the Book of Mormon suggests.

Rpaul.

God's Word is all we have and all we need. Not some book that reads grammatically like a ninth grade student wrote it. You've got the gospel alright, (and that's about all!) but thanks be to the actual truth that was taken from the actual Word of God and placed in such a missive as you espouse. It is a sin to add to the Book or take away.

My suggestion is to read the Word of God and get the story straight from Him!

The book of mormon is a false text. Mormon religion preaches a different gospel. The bible urges us to beware of false gospels.

Galatians 1:8 But even if we or an angel from Heaven preach a gospel to you beside what we preached to you, let him be accursed.

9 As we said before, and now I say again, If anyone preaches a gospel to you beside what you have received, let him be accursed.

Mormon religion began with an angel of light, a false angel, who preached a different gospel.

Amen! It's like eating (soy--no meat!) wieners when you could have filet mignon! :21:

if scripture is all you have and all you need, then what in the world did 97% of the world do for about the first 14 centuries when they couldn't read?

They had the church there to teach them.

What did the world do when there was not a book called the Bible until 382ad?

they had the church, the one church there to teach them and to give them the eucharist which Christ commanded we eat and drink in order to have eternal life.

The church was long before the book.

and the church remains with the book, with the Sacred Tradition that accompanies Sacred Scripture and is equal to.

Hold fast to the traditions which we have handed down to you both by word of mouth and written epistle. 2 thess 2:15

the church is Catholic.

The mormon church believes in a plurality of gods and all are going to hell within it.

all.

Anyone believing in a plurality of gods is not entering heaven.

Only those that believe in one almighty God and do His will to the best of their ability can go to heaven.

that is part of it, but then why does 1 tim 3:15 seperate the two in the same paragraph?

15but in case I am delayed, I write so that you will know how one ought to conduct himself in the household of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and support of the truth.

they are speaking to christians at the time, and if WE are THE church, then HOW can THE CHURCH(we) conduct ourselves IN CHURCH?

do we leave our bodies and then go into them again? lol

and what about Matthew 18?

16"But if he does not listen to you, take one or two more with you, so that BY THE MOUTH OF TWO OR THREE WITNESSES EVERY FACT MAY BE CONFIRMED.

17"If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the CHURCH; and if he refuses to listen even to the CHURCH, let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector.

18"Truly I say to you, whatever you bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven; and whatever you loose on earth shall have been loosed in heaven.

so we see the disciples(the church?) and if he doesn't listen to them(the church?) then they should gather more(of the church?, according to you) then they should

.............take it where? to the CHURCH

how can this be if we are the church?

and how can this other church actually anathematize(excommunicate, as a heathen and a publican)?

who has this power? who had the power to pronounce the sin of others in scripture? it was the church leaders, the apostlesa, the first bishops.

peter pronounced the sin and the judgement, and God killed them.

you are not the magesterium of the church, you are a believer, and a part of the general priesthood of believers, not the ordained.

the bishops ordain as we see In scripture.

i look forward to your bit by bit response to these verses.

they totally contradict your false thinking, and ALL of Church history in the world for the first 1521 uyears of Chrisytianity prove my point.

:)

You are quite wrong, and seem very indoctrinated by your "church". We are the Body of Christ, the Church. You are just missing the full meaning of these verses you have quoted. They are spiritually discerned. Ask God to reveal to you the message therein. I will pray for you.

If you don't know what the word of God says in the Bible, then you can be deceived by any form of doctrine. But, the word of God must be spiritually discerned and you must be spiritually regenerated to receive from God what is written in the text of the bible.

You must be saved by Christ (not by belief in a religion, etc) and you must renew your mind with the word of God, especially with the coming of the antichrist drawing nigh-will you be deceived???If you hold to Joseph Smith's teachings you will be. Have a relationship with the one they are speaking against and you will know the truth and the truth will set you free.

The bible was cannonized in the 3rd century and was also in use by the majority of Christians in the 1st century...we also know they had the Torah from the very beginning.

Get your facts straight, this is the second time you've done this.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
