I am dissapointed by some of the repulsive things I am hearing in the chatroom regarding treatment of our pets. Someone actually suggested another person to put their cat in the microwave for a whlie when the cat misbehaves. Just make sure the microwave was unplugged he said. The moderator had no problem with this. Would advising someone to lock their child in a closet be O.K. too? So as long as it would not cause actual physical harm? I KNOW that our pets descend from animals. DUH! Are some of us maybe ummmm.. taking that way too far? Can you picture Jesus putting a cat in a microwave unplugged or not? Also, I am appalled how ignorant people can be about their dogs. Dogs require TRAINING. People think dogs should self train or get chained up in the backyard, but that is animal cruelty. PERIOD. Dogs are pack animals, meaning they are the opposite of solitary animals. It is cruel to go against their nature as a pack animal.

About the comment that "some people actually believe that dogs descend from animals". Yes dogs descend from animals. Are animals trash? Did God make a mistake when He created them? Did He not create them to have physical pain and discomfort and feelings like us? Yes, He did! And did God not create us to have compassion? Yes, He did! God is our Wonderful Maker. He made us and he made our pets too. Yes we are superior to our pets, but ....LET"S NOT ABUSE THAT by disregarding that God created them to feel emotional and physical pain like us. The fact that we are superior does not mean that animals are created without feeling.

Do we really want to portray to the millions of cyber viewers out there that Christians feel justified in treating their pets very poorly "because they are animals"????

For those of you with a new puppy and would like good advice, here is a great thread at another forum:

http://chfweb.net/index.php?t=tree&got...8828#msg_165266

p.s. if any of you have outdoor pets or are looking for a home for your pet. Be very careful at this time of the year, druids, etc. are looking for animals to sacrifice on their Hallow's Eve ritual. Black or white cats are especially at risk.

I agree as well, Emily. I am an avid animal lover, and I absolutely hate seeing or even hearing of animals being mistreated. I think as Christians we need to be good stewards of this world, and that includes the animals that God has put in our care. If you cannot love the animal, you have no business keeping it as a pet. I don't think we should get as fanatical as PETA, but I am opposed to using animals for testing out cosmetics and such. I even have a store I frequent that guarantees its soaps shampoos and deodorants are not tested on animals.

I would also add that I think we should also be more compassionate to animals that we use for food. In the Jewish Kashrut tradition, animals are slaughtered in the most humane way possible. As opposed to nonkosher slaughter houses that use sledgehammers to kill livestock, the kosher way of slaughter is to simply prick the jugular. The animal feels almost no pain, and simply falls asleep, as opposed to the violent death they experience in other places. The kosher means of slaughter is the cleanest, the most humane, the most gentle, and the most compassionate way of preparing an animal for human consumption.

One other tradition from Jewish law regarding animals is that if you have a pet or own flocks or herds, you should feed your animals before you feed yourself.

Probably because they still recognize this world as belonging to God, and it still being His creation.

Well this is certainly is an encouragement to hear of so many brothers and sisters in Christ who also feel that although God did create us above animals, they should still be treated humanely. :noidea::24: Thank you for --> :taped:

I think my dogs are descended from people somewhere along the line! The little dears really act like (spoiled but affectionate) children!

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
