When a topic gets too heated the mods will delete it. Sometimes even christians who love to be peacemakers will feel put on and contribute to the drama which eventually closes and or deletes a thread. There is no one person responsible, its usually a combination and often it's due to matters of presentation and misunderstanding. Even the most peaceable amongst us can misinterpret something and feel hurt and lash out. Those who take a strong stand against what they feel is wrong are often misunderstood as being hateful, spiteful, devisive or arguementative. It's all part of being human.

If you get a thread deleted...praise God that it was deleted before more hardship was caused and then go take a shower and have some camomille tea...don't take it personally.

Thank you for the explanation....i suppose i took it a little personal...not so much that it was deleted...more cuz i thought i would get an notification that it was done and maybe why...i have been a member here for a while (don't come on all the time)...but did not realize that they deleted the whole thread....I am a calm person most generally and like to think i post with respect....so yeah...i was a little shocked that the whole thread was gone and not just closed. I did end up receiving a response about why my post was closed....i totally understand and i do not have hard feelings of any kind. Just a little saddened that it has to come down to that at times...with any post.

In hindsight...i would like to thank the mod for deleting the post....i do not want anything i write to cause such chaos or strife with my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. *hugs to all*

In Christ, Jenny.

Wouldnt it be more beficial for the offending posts to be deleted rather than the whole thread? just seen a reasonable thread deleted on love and respect with the Eph 5 v33 thread pulled. there were a couple of heated flames, but nothing to warrent the whole thread going. We have lost alot of interesting debates in past becuase of this. If people want to respond to personal things then do it in PM not on the thread, most people couldnt care less and just think oh dear here we go again.

Having been the recipient of some nasty responses in the past (especially because of my beliefs) I can understand why a thread would be deleted. I have had one closed myself because of this. I have tried to make peace with a lot of people only to be told (honestly, this happened in a chat one time!) that I have a demon. I still laugh at that one.

I appreciate the mods on this board so much because all they want to do is glorify God. That is the main thing that all of us want, regardless of our doctrinal differences. If they have to delete a post because it wasn't glorifying the Lord, fine, do so. I think that's great. Especially considering how little the number actually is of administrators they have here at Worthy!!!

Anyway, had to jump in with my response to this one. May God keep us all in the spirit of unity despite our doctrines.

Anita

Sometimes offensive posts are deleted, sometimes the thread is just closed and sometimes the topic is deleted. It depends upon what happens. I have wittnessed all of these. If a thread is going along nicely except for one person's posts or a spammer or troll, they will delete the posts and any which quote it. If a thread which was going nicely suddenly takes a header they will just close it. Sometimes a topic is ascerbic from the beginning and the best response is to just close it.

Ladyraven, I agree entirely, everything just becomes a big mess and is not glorifying to God and I have seen another thread deleted and another closed, and praised God each time! I thought on Jenny's thread however that at least the first page could have been saved and the rest closed, but I am just glad that the debate is still not going on.

I want to just share my heart here. A person should be able to share their convictions without being challenged. In defending myself after being challenged, I have come across as judgemental unintentionally. I was so frusturated I couldn't see straight.

Sometimes the best thing to do is just remember who we truly stand before and not try to appease man's arguments. I have felt more challenged rather than exhorted on these forums. On chat however, I feel more exhorted in love. I am not afraid to ask a stupid question, attempt to spell a word I am not sure of, confess that on some matters I am mostly clueless ar the moment. I often joke that I am feeling "blond".(No offense to blonds! Everyone knows us brunettes pick on blonds cause we are jealous! ) On chat noone for the most part ever ridicules my spelling or finds fault in a way that hurts my feelings. Because it is done in love from sister to sister or brother to sister. Today there was a bible story I was trying to recall this morning on chat (Balaam and the donkey)and did not quite get it right, someone explained it to me and there were no hard feelings. There has to be a feeling of love behind it and it is essential to make sure that is established that first. I learned this the hard way a few days ago, when I wanted to share info that I thought might be helpful, and this person become defensive and by then it was too late to try to find common ground as she would not listen to me anymore. Then it really did turn into an argument as her defensiveness (a result of my failure to establish friendship and love first) got the best of me. :whistling: Thank you for the grouphug Jenny, I am so in need of that. I love each and every one of you, you are all my brothers and sisters in Christ and we will all be in Heaven someday, and all these misunderstandings will be cleared up. Tears are just pouring down my face right now, I would love so much if we could all just get along and love each other.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
