Yes, right on Darski! I couldn't have said it better. It is so sad that many parents seem to see their worth in how expensive of a home they can afford, yet these houses sit empty all day and family members are all split up. I know of a family where both their kids are in daycare but not even in the same daycare. (One has better programs for certain age groups? ) This mother insists they need a huge house and do not see how so many can live the way they do making kids share rooms etc. My kids LOVE the idea of sharing a room as soon as the littlest is ready to leave our room. This mother actually brags about how much her kids love having their own room and do not like it at all when the other one comes into their room. Apparently these brothers wants nothing to do with each other. The mother says this is because they get so much "good" socialization during the day at daycare that they dont need anymore socializing when they get home. Having seperate rooms and going to fancy daycares is apparently more important to this family than actual FAMILY!

There is the worldly ideal for families, or the Godly ideal for families. Who do we serve and find our worth in, Christ or the empty vain philosophies of this world?

I have noticed that the work/don't work outside the home arguement cannot be discussed from a biblical pov anymore. To me that is sad. The whole notion that it's all "societies" rather than God's inclination is just maddening, yet this is the horse hockey that kids get fed these days. Yes, if God has called you to do something, HE will see to it that it gets done, however if you place God first you'll accomplish His calling HIS WAY. There are roles laid out in the Bible, we can't ignore them just because society doesn't like them.

At least in the time of Leave it to Beaver and like shows, these roles were acknowledged as the RIGHT thing. Even if their interpretation of them might have been rigid...

Some guy bought a new fridge for his house. To get rid of his old fridge, he put it in his front yard and hung a sign on it saying: "Free to good home. You want it, you take it."

For three days the fridge sat there without even one person looking twice at it. He eventually decided that people were too un-trusting of this deal.

It looked to good to be true, so he changed the sign to read: "Fridge for sale $50."

The next day someone stole it.
