2 Peter 1:19-21...

And we have the word of the prophets made more certain, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts. Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet's own interpretation. For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.

As the prophets never interpreted their prophecies with their own minds---neither should we engage in any freelance interpretation either. The Holy Spirit is our interpreter. Tune into Him.

Really; then why isn't everyone Catholic? And how on earth can anyone believe in this rapture nonsense (a product of the 1800s)? There are thousands upon thousands of Christian denominations alone; a lot of freelance interpretation going on there I'd say.

Proverbs 14:15 The simple believes everything, but the prudent looks where he is going.

1 Thessalonians 5:21 but test everything; hold fast what is good,

I do my best to hold fast to what is good; guess I'm just a do-gooder at heart. -- Nothing wrong with prophesy but just make sure it's really a prophesy to begin with.

My comprehension level is just fine; thanks. ---- I'm taking it ALL in and evaluating it. Everybody picks and chooses which scriptures they believe more than other scriptures. It's inevitable because we have some contradictions; some errors; and over 2000 years separating us culturally and linguistically from the authors.

I've never met a virgin yet whose had a baby; and that belief is NOT a requirment for going to heaven.

You make a nasty implication by mentioning my comprehension level and politely invite me to a nonbiased study??? I see exactly where you're coming from and it is not about having a polite, unbiased study. I've spent too much time on here already; I told you I'd print off your chapter but I haven't had a chance yet. I'm also trying to finish up that book I mentioned called "Meeting Jesus Again For The First Time" so I can return it to the 87 yr old man who lent it to me. I also have family; they all went to Wal-Mart today while I wasted my time away on here. I need to spend a little time with them too; do you comprehend; does this compute???

You know what; I just changed my mind. I'm not gonna print your chapter; peddle it to somebody else who doesn't comprehend quite as much as I do.

The virgin birth strikes at the heart of the doctrine of Christ Divinity. If Jesus was just a man, then we have no guarantee that he was sinless. If He was not sinless, then He was not the spotless Lamb of God, and was not able to die for the sins of mankind.

The virgin birth teaches us that Jesus was born of God, not of Joseph. It was God who went to the cross. Jesus as God died on the cross. If you reject the fact that Jesus birth was purely the product of the Holy Spirit over shadowing Mary, and if you reject the clear statement from the Bible, that Mary had not known a man prior to giving birth to Jesus, what other parts of the Bible do you also find it OK, to reject?

A true Christian must believe that Jesus was born of virgin by the power of God in order to believe that Jesus was both 100% man and 100% God. There are simply somethings about the Christian faith that cannot be compromised upon. If you reject this basic premise of Scripture, you are not a Christian. No one who rejects Jesus' Divinity is a Chrisitan. True Christianity is based upon this truth. The very plan of redemption is meaningless and impossible without it.

Hey guys, I read this post on another thread and it made me think of you. [link]

And I ask what does that prove? Only that you need back up or can't use your own words? Wait... so far your own words have been backwards, disrespectful, inaccurate, just plain backwards thinking.

You are decieved, obviously confused, and as undone said, we are constantly having to defend our faith, which God commands us to do so, therefore as human beings, we can get touchy as well. My brothers and sisters here have given you quite a perspective and the words to take heed to that Gods Word is Truth!

Of all the posts so far I've encountered by unbelievers like you Hypathia is that Joseph is Jesus father from his own seed is the whackiest notion!

I also have to wonder why you choose your user name because the definition is basically Secular. So this doesn't suprise me that you or of a "liberal flavor", pick and choose what YOU want to believe in the Bible, have these absolutely distorted views of Christians, how you can claim to be one and go against God's Word is baffling.

We have attempted to reach out to you and yet your heart is hard and closed to the fact that there is another way of seeing the Lord. The way He wants you to see Him.

It's a thing called simple TRUST, complete TRUST, in Him, in His Word, in His promise and assurance. There is nothing wrong with not understanding some things in the bible. They are not meant for us to understand. Did you ever think that God placed these mysteries there so that we might grow in our faith by believing in our TRUST that one day all these things will be revealed.

You continue to attempt to back up your ideas just as we may continue to attempt to help you see the light and the truth. But the Truth is righ there in the Bible and without the Holy Spirit to give you the wisdom to know the Truth, you walk in darkness.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
