Nobody asked me what denomination I was. I'm methodist but I'm in transition as I mentioned in another post (not sure if it's this thread). I'm very influenced by Judaism and agree with them on several points especially concerning life after death.

You guys might be surprised at how many Christians don't believe in a virgin birth even if they don't go around flapping their gums about it. I don't make a habit of telling people in real life that I don't. I've never seen the necessity of it myself. I think God sent His Son into the world using Joseph and Mary.

I'm not calling God a liar at all; I think people lie and sometimes they just make mistakes because they're fallible and influenced by their cultural surroundings. It's funny how people so quickly dismiss Jews unless they're trying to dig up a Hebrew word to prop up their position on something or when they're proclaiming how much they "love the Jews" when all they want to do is use them to fulfill their own interpretation of Revelation.

I do not believe in the Trinity. Dissent From the Trinity Doctrine <link>

I wasn't trying to be flippant about anything; I was trying to have a discussion. I don't think want some of you want discussion; I think you want conformity and nothing else.

If you disbelieve that Jesus came through a virgin, then you couldn't possibly be a Christian. You have to know who Christ is to have a living relationship with Him. Must be some other christ you are dealing with---false christ.

You have no authority to make declarations like that concerning me or anyone else who happens to disagree with you; you are not God.

I posted the first nine chapters of my book about Old Testament prophecies of Jesus on prior post on this thread, but I'm posting chapters ten and eleven in this post. I will be posting more chapters as this thread carries on in future postings. You can read and copy free the whole book my website at: http://www.thelordsplace.us

Chapter Ten

A Prophet

This will be a short chapter giving an Old Testament messianic prophecy, which reveals Jesus as a Prophet. This prophecy is found in Deuteronomy 18:15, 18 and 19. This prophecy was given through Moses.

Deuteronomy 18:15, 18, and 19 "The Lord thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken ...(Skipping to verse 18) ...I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him. And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him."

Peter quotes from this prophecy, and applies it to Jesus Christ in Acts 3:20-23 "And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you: Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began. For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you. And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people."

A prophet is one who is sent by God to deliver the message or words of God. Jesus always said that it was not his words he spoke, but the words of his Father who sent him. God said he would put his words in the mouth of this prophet in the prophecy above. Jesus Christ is actually called the Word of God in Revelation 19:13 and John 1:1.

A prophet is also one who foretells events which will happen in the future. Jesus prophesied beforehand three times in his ministry that he would be crucified. He also prophesied about end times in Matthew chapter 24, Mark chapter 13, and Luke chapter 21, and also a few other places.

A prophet is also one who can be associated with the working of miracles. God turned water into blood through Moses, but Jesus turned water into wine. Elijah prayed for rain, and a cloud came with rain. Jesus commanded the storm to cease, and the weather obeyed him. Elijah also prayed, and a widow

So the RSV says "young woman"...so what? She is clearly a virgin in all other versions. A young woman or girl meant virgin.

One cannot afford to have their "own thoughts" about such things, as they are unreliable and lead one astray.

as I remember it the Messiah was suppose to be fully human.

You remember almost correctly. He came fully human and also fully God. That's the miracle of Jesus! Remember now? If you have forgotten this fact about our Saviour, then how do you claim to know and love Him?

She was a virgin in the other versions due to a mistranslation. I'm referring only to the verse in Isaiah....not the NT verses; I've never heard or read of anyone saying the verse in Matthew or Luke is a mistranslation.

One cannot afford to have their "own thoughts" about such things, as they are unreliable and lead one astray.

The best way to be lead astray is to allow other people to do your thinking for you. Preachers lead people astray all the time.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
