Those who have the mind of Christ can spiritually judge all things, because they have Learned to compare scripture with scripture. 1Cor 2:16-13 with Is 28:9-12

Once we believe in Jesus, we need to come to learn, under His light yoke of repentant faith so that we could be instructed and have rest (the holy understanding, see Prov 9:10) for our soul. (Matt 11:28-29 cf. Jer 31:18-19) We are given the knowledge of the glory of God, by the mercy of God through His servants manifesting the truth by the scriptures. (2Cor 4:6,1-2) This is the form of teaching which causes obedience from the heart so that we would no longer serve sin. (Rom 6:17 with Titus 2:12) Because ALL scripture is given unto us for our instruction in righteousness, we can be perfected to go on to do good and merciful works (2Tim 3:16-17) ; that ministers grace through the good communication which edifies those who hear. (Eph 4:29, Rom 15:2) These are the servants who labor among us (in the word) who should be highly esteemed because of this loving work. This is how we live in peace. (5:12-13)

We can only go on to love others and increase in this, more and more, IF we will study, (as commanded) how to walk honestly, so that we will lack nothing... (1Thess 4:9-12 with 3:12)

We are called by God to abstain from all appearances of evil. (1Thess 5:22) What does this mean? It simply means that we are to ask God to help us walk uprightly, (Gal 2:14) speak with sincerity, reject any unjust gain, to not listen to gossip and slanderous conversations, and not be into watching evil. (Is 33:15) Our earnest prayer should be pleading with the Lord that our

That was a good read on my Photoshop break. And a bit of work on your part to type out. (There should be a book published of the best Christian forum internet posts) Thanks.

Are you claiming that only "born again" christians can understand the Bible?

Yes, this seems to be the general outlook in Christian circles. I do not believe this to be true (and yes I am a "Christian"!). All too often, I meet Christians who have never even read the bible. How can they have a better understanding of scripture when they have yet to read it?

If Z isn't claiming it I am :emot-highfive: It is possible to read the Bible but impossible to fully comprehend if one walks in darkness. What I mean by darkness is that Jesus is the truth the way and the light. Our surrender, acceptance, repentence and total commitment in Jesus results in a deeper Spiritual knowledge as our Spirits awaken in Him and become alive. He is the way of salvation, being saved from an eternity of torment in hell. You cannot know the Father if you do not know Jesus first... thus, a transformation of mind, body and soul, "born again" not of the womb but of the Spirit and the results are a wisdom from the Holy Spirit who is like our interpreter and never fails.

Not only do born again believers, Christians, comprehend the Bible through the light of Jesus but they are saved and can have peace and joy in the knowledge that God keeps His promise and what we have to look forward to is so vast and beyond our imagination but we believe because He is faithful in His Word.

That is absolutely the outlook in Christian circles. You seem to have a double minded aspect to your thinking. If you are a Christian, then you are one of the "they" that you are talking about. Understanding is given by God, and to those that seek understanding it is given. It is reasonable to assume that an unbeliever is not seeking understanding from the God in whom he (or she) does not believe.

All too often, I meet Christians who have never even read the bible.

I suspect that you might have met Christians that have not read the bible entirely through, but I doubt that you have met any that have not read it at all.

I have gathered from your own words in various posts that you claim to be Christian and yet pick and choose what you want to believe in and discard what you don't when as believers we are called to trust in His Word. In All of His Word. This is an indication of surrender, complete trust and obedience. There are some parts of the Bible we are not meant to know of yet. But accept and truly have faith that it will be revealed in God's timing.

It happened to me system. I grew up never owning a Bible and the moment I became born again and my spirit became alive with His, I suddenly had knowledge I dis not have before. Now this doesn't mean that becoming alive in the Spirit will give you all knowledge all at once could cause a system over load and God won't do that to us. He gives us what He knows we are ready for. He reveals to us more and more wisdom in our commitment and obedience. It was evidence, proof as I felt it and changed in the blink of an eye. Took me a while to grasp but then all of audden like WOW I totally fully completely surrendered in my belief that came out of a desire to know Him. It does happen and from that point on, as I read the Bible, everyday I learned something knew. Sometimes tiny steps closer, some bigger ones, some days no steps at all. It is in those days He choses to silently build in us. When we feel separated is when we should rejoice in the belief that we are growing as He allows us experiences and the difference with believers is we know there is hope waiting for us and a new joyful journey. :emot-highfive:

AMEN CJ!!

Without the Spirit of God we cannot understand the full meaning of the Holy Word of God. That is precisely why there are so many misintrepritations of the Word, and why some will say, even professing christians, that the Bible contradicts itself.

And Amen to you Akabu!! There is a bridge between man and God and to fill that bridge is only one way through Jesus. Those that walk in the dark cannot possibly understand our enthusiasm and strong belief and that we can receive message through the Word daily. The Spirit in the lost who are in the dark is dead. And this is why Jesus came to spread the good news of salvation, for the lost. And those who refuse to believe and depend on other sources and references ( and I seriously believe there are some who come here to sound intelligent only to end up behaving badly and never to be seen again) It is so difficult yet so incredibly simple to step across that line out of the dark and into the light. Our spirits are calling to us and it is up to us to answer. And there are no contradictions in the Bible. It is exactly how God intended it to be and He does not make mistakes or contradictions.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
