Ok, 20 pages later and no one has answered the question.

Why does it matter? saturday, or sunday, monday, tues wed thurs or friday. What does it matter as long as you take a day for Christ? in all reality, were supposed to live for christ, worship him daily, not just on a sabbath!

its not going to make one bit of difference in the end on whether you go to heaven or hell.

Shalom,

Au contraire! The question has been answered repeatedly and from Scriptures.

It matters because G-d said it does. He put it in His Word that the 7th day is the Sabbath, a day to be set apart for Him.

And He never rescinded it or changed it to another day. He says a LOT about the Sabbath. That is the simple, Biblical answer.

Why does it matter? saturday, or sunday, monday, tues wed thurs or friday. What does it matter as long as you take a day for Christ? in all reality, were supposed to live for christ, worship him daily, not just on a sabbath!

It matters because G-d said it does. I obey HIM, not man who wants to dismiss G-d's truth from the Scriptures.

Yes we are to live for Messiah and worship Him daily, that is not the point, if you read the posts.

Living daily and worshiping Messiah daily and going to church any day of the week do NOT negate or conflict with the Biblical truth that G-d set down the 7th day as the Sabbath, and it remains as such.

its not going to make one bit of difference in the end on whether you go to heaven or hell.

Ummm, salvation is not the question. You are arguing a point that has not been raised. Which day is the Sabbath is the topic at hand.

Ahh but that is the bottom line, the ultimate point. The old covenant is done away with. Were now under a covenant of Grace, and one day this covenant will be done away with and a new one will be made.

What matters and all that matters IS Salvation!

IF you look at Christ, you find that we are to rest in him, not some day of the week, and that is done everyday of the week.

Shalom,

Well, if you think this is pertinent to the topic, I will reply.

Observing or not observing the Sabbath will not affect whether one gets into Heaven or not. That is not the point of this thread and no one (that I know of) has made the statement that it affects salvation. If they have, I may have missed it. But, MY Biblical foundation is that it is a matter of honoring G-d, not salvation.

If you look in the Bible, the 7th day Sabbath still remains. Not as part of the Law, because it PRECEDES the First Covenant. But because G-d said it and He never changed it.

And to everyone who keeps going down the side trail of salvation, law vs grace, covenant - that is NOT the topic of this thread. The DAY of the Sabbath is the topic.

Hello Eliyahuw

Could you show me the scripture that says that the old covenant has been done away with?

Also the scripture that says we are to rest in Jesus? Thanks.

Shalom DY,

Hebrews 9

11But when Christ appeared as a high priest(U) of the good things that have come,[e] then through(V) the greater and more perfect tent ((W) not made with hands, that is, not of this creation) 12he(X) entered(Y) once for all into the holy places, not by means of(Z) the blood of goats and calves but(AA) by means of his own blood,(AB) thus securing an eternal redemption. 13For if(AC) the blood of goats and bulls, and the sprinkling of defiled persons with(AD) the ashes of a heifer, sanctify[f] for the purification of the flesh, 14how much more will(AE) the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit(AF) offered himself without blemish to God,(AG) purify our[g] conscience(AH) from dead works(AI) to serve the living God.

15Therefore he is the mediator of a new covenant, so that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance, since a death has occurred that redeems them from the transgressions committed under the first covenant.

16For where a will is involved, the death of the one who made it must be established. 17For(AN) a will takes effect only at death, since it is not in force as long as the one who made it is alive. 18Therefore not even the first covenant was inaugurated(AO) without blood. 19For when every commandment of the law had been declared by Moses to all the people, he took(AP) the blood of calves and goats,(AQ) with water and scarlet wool and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book itself and all the people, 20saying,(AR) "This is the blood of the covenant that God commanded for you." 21And in the same way he sprinkled with the blood both(AS) the tent and all the vessels used in worship. 22Indeed, under the law almost everything is purified with blood, and(AT) without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins.

23Thus it was necessary for(AU) the copies of the heavenly things to be purified with these rites, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. 24For Christ has entered, not into holy places(AV) made with hands, which are copies of the true things, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God(AW) on our behalf. 25Nor was it to offer himself repeatedly, as(AX) the high priest enters(AY) the holy places every year with blood not his own, 26for then he would have had to suffer repeatedly since the foundation of the world. But as it is,(AZ) he has appeared(BA) once for all(BB) at the end of the ages to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. 27And just as(BC) it is appointed for man to die once, and(BD) after that comes judgment, 28so Christ, having been offered once(BE) to bear the sins of(BF) many, will appear(BG) a second time,(BH) not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly(BI) waiting for him.

No work, no school, worship praise and prayer. That sounds like the sabbath day to me. Why is it that God commands no work on the seventh day, yet we wait till the 1st day to stop working?

I am a new member, I have been studying the scriptures very hard on this subject. God set up the sabbath in Genisis chap-2 and from there he says he blessed it and sanctified it. Then in Exodus chap 16 vs 4-5 he states that it is a test whether they will walk in (MY) law or not. So in the beginning God made it for man in Exodus he gave it to Isreal. It is YAHWAH's law not Isreal's law, made for man. In Exodus 20 the fourth commandment is (Remember) the sabbath, to keep it holy. then in verse 11 it refers back to Gen 2 and that he blessed it. In Exodus 31 vs 12-17 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying Speak also to the children of Isreal, saying: Surely (MY) Sabbaths you shall keep, for it is a sign between Me and you throughout your generations, that you may know that I am the Lord who sanctifies you. then the death sentence is applied. No where in the bible does it say the death sentence applies to sunday. No where in the bible have I seen where God says I am now changing my commandments. In Malachi chap 3 vs 6 For I am the Lord , I do not change. Jesus says in John 14 vs 15 (If you love me keep my commandments.) Then in chap 15 vs 5 I am the vine , you are the branches. In the new testament Jesus kept the sabbath all his apostles kept the sabbath and Paul the gentile apostle kept the sabbath. The last verse that Got me was in Isaiah chapter 66 verse 22-23 For as the new heavens and the new earth which I will make shall remain before Me, says the Lord, so shall your descendants and your name remain. And it shall come to pass that from one new moon to another, and from one Sabbath to another, all flesh shall come to worship before Me, says the Lord. So this my conclusion of my studies that my God created the sabbath, He says I will be blessed and sanctified if I keep it, My Lord and King kept it, and my lord is an Isrealite from the tribe of Judah, I am grafted into his vine which makes me what he is. So YAHWAH made the sabbath for man and he does not change, and by his word in the beginning the 7th day sabbath was made, and in the new earth all flesh will keep the Sabbath and worship him. So He also says it will be a sign that I am his from generation to generation. I have been a christian for 22 years and I have broken the 4th commandment my whole life. 10 years now I have been a minister, I have made every excuse why not to keep God's commandment. I am a Pastor of a small church we have now decided to keep the 4th commandment now this was the first week we did. It was very very hard to break man's tradition which I have kept my whole life, I cannot condemn anyone because I am guilty. But this week we have kept all 10 commandments of YAHWAH. As we strive to be more like Jesus and to love him and keep his commandments I hope this helps others like myself

And Hi to you to Vickilynn

Im not sure that was the covenant Eliyahuw was refering to. Hebrews 9 and 10 are talking of the blood covenant which was written in the law of Moses. The shadow of Christ. That covenant arrived at the cross with Jesus. I could be wrong but i think he was refering to the heart covenant when the law will be written in our heart. Im not sure, so i guess ill have to wait on him and see what he says.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
