Pornography Statistics in the US

Wow, that is scarey stuff. I want to thank you all for the statistic site, as I want to show this to my church for our Encounter we are having in March. An area they address is pornography and many other addictions. It is sad to think someone would get financial pleasure, among other things, off of our children.

Our computers use to be in the living room, until viruses hit through an email and what took over.......pornography pop-ups and other sites. We did get the computer fixed, to just have it happen again months later. We had many virus protections on there also. So, as a result the computer sits in our bedroom and is shut off. My husband and I just use the laptops and if the kids need to do a school paper or report, they use ours (with us helping in the same room).

It sickens me to think even when you feel your home is safe and Christ centered, the enemy can evade through computers, TV and radio against our children.

Women, far more than men, are likely to act out their behaviors in real life, such as having multiple partners, casual sex, or affairs.

Women favor chat rooms 2X more than men.

1 of 3 visitors to all adult web sites are women.

9.4 million women access adult web sites each month.

This tells me two things: There are a whole lot of unsatisfied women out there, and there are a whole of clueless husbands/boyfriends who need to grow up and start wearing the long pants and find out how to please their mates/partners/whatever. If a person's needs are being met in real life, their addiction to porn will fade away.

Where are the stats on men??????????

Real men don't need porn or fantasy The reason imo that the figures are really not shown on men is because the industry (porn) survives on the backs of these guys and the information is stifled. Secondarily, i would question the truthfulness of anyone who said they had never seen or been exposed..does that make one an addict?

The obvious answers are prayer, Bible Study, and a real repentance from the sin. But a real "partner" in life is the real answer as Marnie pointed out.

It truely is sad that instead of using the principles taught by Jesus our culture provides Total Freedom with no responsibiliy andthen says - turn off the TV; don't let yu kids use the computer alone; use our new filter;... Me thinks man cannot make enough laws to control his sinful nature!
