:24: Glad to see the "costal" part in your title Marnie.

Yeah, I figure I "think" in tongues.... :24: In heaven I'll get the speaking part!

Hmmm no lutherans?

I know there is a Lutheran around here some place, because I've gone a few rounds with him, but his name escapes me at the moment. I guess he hasn't come across this survey yet.

I am pretty sure that SmallCald is an LCMS Lutheran.

I missed that first one on you. I had you pinned for a Baptist. I don't know why though.

Is a Presby-costal a Charismatic Presby? Like a Pentacostal that serves coffee and bagels after service? :24:

I remember when you found out I was an Episcopalian, you were like "Oh, that explains it" :24:

I was going to ask you what you answered, but as it turns out, I had guessed right on my own. From my viewpoint, you are liberal and more than slightly left of center, but we have to answer these according to how we view ourselves.

Believe it or not, I disagree with hard core liberals nearly as much as I would disagree with hard core conservatives. (I think you are so far to the right you that the center looks at little closer than it really is :24: )

One final point, I was raised Catholic, and I am a member of an Episcopalian Church, but theologically I am probably closer to a Lutheran than anything else.

I go wherever the worship is lively and I feel at home. So I started off and got saved in the Baptist church, then went to a Pentecostal church for many years, then free evangelical but charismatic, and now again a free non demoninational church that is also charismatic. I'm very conservative and also, though I hold charismatic beliefs am not a downright Pentecostal!

To summarise, I'm a bit of a mongrel! :24:

:24: Forrest, I like you man.

I go to a Presbyterian church because I really like the order and structure. The church is very full gospel and evangelical, though. I have experienced the "second blessing" of the baptism in the Holy Spirit, hence Presby-costal. I was joking about you being Episcopal. Around here that denom. has the "frozen chosen" reputation, and plus they are very liberal theologically.

I was raised Catholic however, what fundementals were stored in my heart, the restrictions and traditions did not draw me closer but away. Now, this is not true today as far as their teachings regarding a personal relationship with Jesus. They are so much more open and call themselves Catholic Christians and it's very gratifying that Jesus is mentioned time and time again during service. But the traditions and such I feel may give one a sense of closeness to the Lord by obeying what "man" has developed. The intimacy I grown in is so simple in that it is a simple belief in Christ, becoming obedient in my journey, finding complete trust and walking in the Spirit not in the flesh though still sinful in nature. It is through the divine word of God that has deepened my awareness. His Word, the Bible, my daily bread, the fellowship with others and my sealed eternity through my acceptence and surrender.

That is so plain and simple so I fall into the majority in that I consider myself non denominational, conservative, and alive in the Spirit through Jesus Christ who has revealed so much to me this last year.

God is so Great!

Well, actually, some Episcopal Diocese are liberal, some much more moderate to conservative theologically. The parish I am a member of is very traditional. In fact, I would not attend one that wasn't. My wife and I don't like contemporary services at all. I am pretty reserved on personal matters, so a Charismatic Church would definitely not be a good fit for me at all. You know the Episcopal Church used to be referred to as "The Republican Party at worship". At least back in the days of the "Country Club" Republicans it was.

The parish we are members of is a fairly large one (I think about 2000 members or so) and a particularly reserved one. We joined because we liked the senior rector, but I don't know that we really fit in with the congregation that much. It

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
