Satan loves discord and differences. Hates unity. Anytime he can impress upon the human mind that anything of works is beneficial to achieve joy, he is very happy.

okay then the subject of tithes was brought up and tithes is a "Work" even though it was before the law was given in which was looking forward to the offering up of Christ body on the cross. Now I have to say from what you have said here that you are sowing discord :24: as you are uplifting tithing so if what you are saying is true you are just as guilty discord and differences as others do not feel they have to pay tithes.

I have actually thought this thread was pretty friendly and have been able to converse and share my thoughts and opinions in my beliefs. I would hope we all could do this. I don't personally believe either side of the issue is sowing discord by sharing what they believe about the OP. There is always going to be differences of doctrine but our unity is in our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

thanks for your reply

I never brought it up! I have never insisted that people adopt tithing...it is simply giving to God,sowing into the Kingdom, out of a heart of love, not duty, and not for recompense. I sense discord in your post addressing me, though...

I like the way you play tricks with the editing button so I'll respond to the things you've added here after replying before.

No matter how you want to slice your pie up into little bitty pieces tithing is a "work" one does out of faith it does not matter if you do it with a heart of love and generosity or grudgingly and sparingly and whether you give to get or want nothing in return the fact is that it still remains a faith based "work" that you practice while others don't believe they should tithe.

There is no discord in me addressing you as we are actually on the topic of this thread in our discussion. I am just trying to make a valid point to you in what you have said.

OC

No tricks, just slow down bit.

Tithing is not any "work" in the sense of works! Neither is partaking of communion, attending church services, or serving God is the ways He has called you. It can become a work. however, if one's heart is wrong about it, thinking that you will win position with God, His favour, or rewards, or even salvation. That makes it a work in the wrong sense.

LOLOLOL!! :24:

Shalom FA,

Sooooo, anything that brings us joy is of the devil? Really?

The Word says differently:

John 16

24"Until now you have asked for nothing in My name; ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be made full.

Galatians 5

22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

23gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

24Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

25If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit.

26Let us not become boastful, challenging one another, envying one another.

I never said that you did bring it up I know who brought it up and I know you responded to it. I never said that you did insist that people adopt tithing I said you are practicing a "Work" by doing it by faith to be more clear and you are as guilty in the things you have said as the other side with differing views of sowing discord and disunity from the things you have said. The same with smoking it is also a "work" one does not do by faith.

Smoking? Like as in bacon??????? :24:

No like tobacco :noidea: assuming you are serious about your beliefs of course :24:

Shalom FA,

If that were really true, you would not be so condemning to anyone who says they believe following parts of the Law is how G-d has called them. You are being hypocritical if you say you believe these things and not the others. You can't have it both ways.

Who is condemning? I am not hypocritical in the least.

My goodness, for one who cuts people down with so-called jokes and so-called humor, ridicules people's beliefs and even the Word, your response is more than strange.

Excuse me for my joy! My happiness comes out in witticisms!

You have misunderstood in that the devil will impress upon some minds that performing certain works garners the joy of the Lord, but it is a counterfeit joy. It makes him sneer.

This I find very confusing. Are you saying that when we partake in communion, attend church, and serve God as he has called us to, we don't receive his favor or rewards? Matthew 19:29 says "And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life." That sounds like rewards for giving things up for God. Then in 1 Corinthians 3:8 it says, "Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour."

Come on, Butero. You must know that we don't DO to GET.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
