As far as Jedi's post goes, I think I came back and apologized for jumping the gun with my first response, but I will do that again. I don't think he intended to offend, but to cause us to think. The title was what got me, and my first response was a lot to do with that. I have apologized to him via PM, and asked his forgiveness for my first comment, and I do hope he returns to continue posting.

About VOG - I believe with my whole heart and being, that he is dangerously deceived and is doing his best to spread that deceit on every board he goes to. That is serious, and needs to be addressed by Truth whenever possible. I tried to be civil in my responses, but I know there were times when I could've done a lot better and didn't. I'm only human, and when I see false teaching being spread, it bothers me inside and out and it's almost impossible for me not to respond. I was even "chastised", if that's the correct word, via PM, by another board member about some of my responses to him, and all I could basically say back, was that I felt it necessary to try to counteract falsehoods with Truth, if possible.

I don't think what VOG was doing, and what Jedi posted are the same thing at all, though, and I truly hope Jedi comes back and continues posting.

Well, I disagree. I thought he was a nice guy but confused. I also thought too many people (me included) could've been nicer. I have to stand before God with my conscience. I've self-examined myself and feel I could've acted nicer.

If no one else feels that way...hey! It's a private matter between you and God. I'm not going to be there when God examines your heart...it's just you and Him.

As far as this "Jedi" guy goes...don't know him. Don't have an opinion.

Finally, this topic isn't fun. I'm going to watch television with my husband and munch on some leftover turkey tonight.

I'm going to enjoy the life God has given me and tell the people I love how much they mean to me...and kindly bow out of any more unpleasant exchanges.

As far as "wimps" go...I suppose if the shoe fits, one should wear it.

Life is too short to let anyone disturb your peace. I think I'll just go and enjoy the family God has given me and spend some sweet time with the Lord Himself...

Thank heavens, He's alway my peace....

Written by a Friend in Christ:

I was wondering if you considered yourself a real threat to the Kingdom of Satan?

Do demons know you by name like the bible says they knew Jesus and Paul?

Are you a wimp at work? Does anyone know that Jesus is your lord at work, or have you bought into the conservative and passive lie of tolerance and diversity?

Do you stay silent on what you know God's word to say about homosexuality when the topic comes up at work or school, because your afraid you'll be called a racist or accused of not following your companies diversity rules?

Why did this get so many in an uproar? It seems as if most of the post is stated in the form of questions. The writer is ASKING if you are a Christian wimp. The is understandable considering the behavior of many Christians today. Can you really deny that there are many Christians that are not living the life? With this being the case why would you take such offense at the question being merely raised? If it doesn't apply to you then great. But why the venom? We need provocative questions like this to shake us out of the slumber that we sometimes fall into.

Didn't offend me at all...

If bothered some and not others...Bro Elliot, that's because people are different. Different strokes for different folks.

I'd rather just go back to the Ladies forum and check out new Cookie recipes, myself.

Hi,

Ok where do I start?

First to those that I offended I ask for your forgiveness. I pray that this offense was for your good and not for your loss. The original post was intended to offend some but others it was simply a higher calling to live above the norm and to others it was a simple amen. Again my intentions were not so much to offend but to challenge, but sometimes the truth does hurt and offends but others see it as a wake up call.

I guess I should have titled my topic "Most American christians are wimps" because it is really addressed toward western christianity. In alot of countries most christians are not wimps but are strong and live like Christ and are not ashamed of the gospel and they do not love thier lives unto death. For example my Christian brothers in China, North and South Korea, India, and many Muslim countries where believing in Jesus, being baptised or attending a prayer meeting is a simple death sentance muchless preaching the gospel. Yet these brothers and sisters proclaim the gospel with boldness and without shame.

The "90 percent issue" may not be absolutely accurate but in America I would say, it is very close if not more.

God has not called us to be ordinary people but to be extraordinary bold and powerful witnesses of the kingdom of God. God has called us to be to radicals/extremist of the kingdom of God. Demons should trimble when we show up. Your life should radiate with Christ everyday in character, word and in deeds. In the book of Acts the goverment officials told Christians that they were not allowed to preach in the name of Jesus, but they responded and said "Who should we obey man or God?" and they continued to preach with boldness about Jesus despite who it offended.

When I first read the "Christian wimp" post I was not at all offended but convicted and challenged. I confessed to my friend that I had been a wimp in many areas in my life and that I want to change and be a bold witness for Christ no matter what the cost. I did not lash out and say how dare you judge me nor did I call him a immature christian that needs to grow up. If being a mature Christian means losing the fire of God and compromising the truth then I dont want to grow up. If preaching the gospel makes me look like a fool then Iam a fool for Christ. If preaching the gospel makes me look like a radical then I am a radical for Christ. As a mature Christian we should be growing in our love, passion, and boldness and not the opposite.

Amen

Well Good nite and God bless you all,

Jason

Brother Jason, it is nice to finally hear from you. I believe you actually showed a lot of restraint and maturity waiting a few days and letting the posts (critical and supportive) add up. Your original post sparked a healthy discussion in my opinion and the thread was not tainted by barbs back and forth.

You make some very valid points and I for one appreciate your comments. I feel much the same way that you do. I am humbled every month when I receive my Voice of the Matyrs magazine and read stories about the suffering that takes place across the globe by those brothers and sisters that take a stand for Christ. I constantly ask myself and others, what would you do if faced with such opposition? There are many who speak of persecution but have never felt the sting of death and physical pain as those in other parts of the world have. I read a story a few months ago in one of my VOM magazines about a group of Christians in Viet Nam who traveled over 100 miles to meet together with other Christians and be baptized in the dense jungle watersheds. Most of us can't even show up to Church or Sunday School on time much less do what these brothers and sisters do everyday just to serve the Master. The problem with Western Christianity is that we have too many distractions...wealth, food, comforts and so on whereas these other brothers and sisters have nothing but Christ.

None of us should take offense when what we should really be doing is a little self reflection. Does this apply to all? Of coarse not but it does to me. I don't mind looking at myself routinely and adjusting my path. Most of us would call that the process of sanctification.

God Bless you Jason...and nice to meet you brother.

Wayne

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
