have seen where there was not even enough to do that, but yet they had extra matresses, and some of the sailors would place a matress on top of two torpedo's for their rack.... worked real well too, for the torpedo's would cradle them......

something that also took away sleeping spaces for the men aboard ship, was the interduction of women on ships, for there was not enough women to fill a birthing space, but yet, they had to be totally separated from the male population ( as far as birthing and heads ).......

we had 4 women on board, and a birthing space may have around 72 racks.... some may be less some more.... so you see, if you have empty racks in one birthing space, but because of gender, they will remain unused while others will have to share one....

one more question for you... if someone broke into your home and was about to murder your child, or your spouse, would you hesitate to kill that person to protect those you love? (with or without a gun)

I would do my best to disarm and subdue the person and tell others to run. I would not kill the intruder. I would prefer to be killed then kill. That may sound evil to some, but to die is to be with The Lord.

You seem to forget that God used war to do his bidding. I know, you're going to say that was OT and during the time of the law, not grace. Now the Israelites did not always obey God's command to kill every living thing during those battles. See what kind of problems they ended up with now? Yep, some of the present day Arabs that are bothering Israel are decendants of those tribes.

I wonder what your opinion is of politics and governments is. Could you enlighten me?

I believe God allows the worldly powers that be, to continue, as long as He wills them to continue. One day He will smash them all. If you look at the nation that God set up in OT Israel you will see it had no Government no king ect ect all it had was prophets/judges who voiced Gods Directives to the people. It was the Jews who demanded to have a king over them, to be like other nations. Now we know God allowed it. If you read about it you will know that He was not impressed at all, So God created the best system but the people demanded a worldly system. once they rejected Gods governance for mans governance they where doomed.

Um, Adstar, perhaps you should read Romans 13:1-7 in regards to conduct in relation to the state:
