Therefore, barcodes are the number of the beast. I've heard this one many times before. Been there, done that, saw the movie, bought the t-shirt.

While folks are out there crunching all kinds of numbers to find out who the Antichrist, let me show you a very simple and Biblical solution:

According to Revelation 13:17-18 , the number of the beast will be the number of his name (cf. Rev. 15:2). Therefore, we only need to look at the number to determine the name.

The name of the beast, and the corresponding number is "Caesar Nero." Here's how we get that: The corresponding numbers represented by the Greek and the Hebrew all add up to the number of the beast. I can't show you what they look like due to the limitations of the text here. Greek and Hebrew characters will not show up on the forum. However, consider the following.

Take a look at the following verses: Rev. 17:8 and 13:3; 17:10-11.

According to Rev. 17:8 "The beast who you saw was and is not and is about to come out of the abyss and go into perdition..(Emphasis mine)

So, the beast, who is Antichrist "was" the person of Caesar Nero before John wrote this book. He "is not" at the time John wrote the book because Nero had died by that time. That he "is about to come out of the abyss" implies that Nero's spirit is now in the abyss and is about to emerge from it to take possession of the body of the slain and resuscitated Antichrist, which is indicated in Rev. 13:3

In Rev. 17:10-11 there are two items to consider. The first is the seven kings. The seven kins in Rev. 17:10 are the seven Caesars of the Roman Empire. The first five "have fallen," meaning that they died unnaturally (cf. Judges 3:25; 2 Sam. 1:10, 25, 27). Those five are Julius Caesar, Tiberius, Caligula, Claudius, and Nero, all of whom were either murdered or committed suicide before John wrote this book. The sixth, Domitian, who was also murdered, was living when Revelation was written; therefore it is said of him that he "is." The seventh, "The other" who, "has not yet come" is the Antichrist. He had not yet come at that time. when he comes, he will remain only a short time and then will be slain, later to be resuscitated by the spirit of the fifth, who is Nero, to become the eight.

Confused yet? There's more:

The second item in Rev. 17:11 is the ten kings. The ten kings will be raised up in the days prior to the Tribulation in the revived Roman Empire. They will be one with the Antichrist in opposing God and persecuting His people - The Jews and the believers. These ten kings are likened to the ten toes of the great image seen by Nebuchadnezzar in his dream (Dan. 2:42). They will submit themselves and their kingdoms to Antichrist (Rev. 17:17)

So, finally, who's to say that the number is a barcode or a chip implant. Why can't it be a tattoo, or why not a brand? Why a number, when it very well could be a name? Do you know that there is a group of people who want to raise up the fallen Roman empire? Wanna know how they're going to do it? Ever hear about something called the Eurpean Union?

How do you think Jesus wants us live?

Someday soon we might meet Him and He will be asking us what we did for Him..

Well, strictly speaking the Antichrist need not believe in Christ in order to persecute the church of God. But I think that any dead unbeliever certainly knows the truth by now.

P.S. The anti-christ is "adonikam" as found in the book of numbers where also the first mention of 666 is found in the bible.

I stand corrected, it is Ezra not Numbers. It has been years since I've done my studies and I no longer possess my materials. I am recalling from memory.

However, the word "adonikam" means "whom the lord sets up" i.e.) as in government,

or the word also means "lord of the enemy" (of god). It further states -

"the children of adonikam are six hundred, sixty and six"

I hope this clarifies my point.
