Is anybody else getting the eerie feeling that the end is so close you can touch it?

I just have an undeniable feeling about it.

I had a dream the other night, it said something along the lines of in the end darkness will disguise itself as light. I can't just shrug that kind of thing off. That was a downright spiritual thing. Anyway, what are your thoughts and feelings?

I'm nervous and excited!

Yeah I think we're close. Very close.

The darkness disguised as light thing...that's pretty much on the money too.

Personally, I don't give "end times" much thought - I think Christ wants Christians to live in the present and let Him do our "worrying" about the future.

I have mixed feeling how some churches approach "end times" - converts are used like a religious "scorecard" to measure success.

Its often used as a "veiled" threat to promote salvation for all the wrong reasons - out of fear - protecting our best interests - guilt -well-intentioned coercion - pleasing ones friends or family.

I often wonder if "salvation" under these circumstances is salvation at all !!!

I've felt this way nearly my entire (young-ish) life (30 years). The only trouble with a sense of "near" is a relative time concept.... near could be 150 years. I figure it's my job to live for now and follow God and teach my boys how to help save the world when the time comes around. Before I realized Christ though I worried about this constantly!

exciting? ABSOLUTELY! I hope I get to see the new world.... can you imagine what a blessing to be a part of that revolution?

i used to think about it when I was first really digging into scripture years ago.

now i can care less if it happened tomorrow or 500 years from now.

there are some sign that show that it's near but there are some signs that show that it's not.

we'll never really know until it's here. God doesn't even "see" linear time in the same way we do. Quantum Physics has nearly proven that linear time is only a human perception - God's time is all it's own.

The point is the same as it's always been: Be ready. Be on guard. Be prepared for the bridegroom.

The "end" may or may not come in our lifetimes, and it doesn't matter. Our mission has been the same for 2000 years: "Go into the world and make disciples..."

Eschatology is an important study, but it doesn't change our role.
