I do believe that oil is part of the reason we're over there and I believe it's politcally motivated to some extent. However, something good has come from it and that is that the people of Iraq may stand to eventually have a country where they live freely and without fear from a reign of terror.

yep, that's part of that entertainment tonight analogy you were using, right? LOL... this wasn't about oil. and for everyone who thinks it was, then was it also about oil when clinton and his minions were saying we needed to go to war with iraq, remove hussein, and made countless claims about WMD? because they all did that, right through clinton's reign. they only changed their tune when it was bush sending the troops over.

anyway, i still love ya

'Smash, I agree with you on the war crimes angle, but this has turned into just another "for or against"

thread.

LadyC has provided alot of answers to questions that are posted in these WOT threads and it seems you still want to brush it off as a bunch of lies. Please open your heart and understand that there are legitimate reasons for us being here. I don't think that any of us here are stupid enough to fall for everything the Gov't tries to feed us. Trust me, I've been here for six months now and have seen enough to justify my being here.

One example? Last week, Taliban supporters blew off six bombs in a school that they decided was guilty of the crime of teaching female students in the classrooms. This happened less than four miles from where I work. I watched them pull eight dead children from the medivac helicopters and cried while I prayed right there next to them. Sure some of my friends saw me, but, well, who cares?

To say that all of this is about some oil soaked greed, well my friend, you are wrong. I have difficulty with people that try to tell me I'm wrong in trying to help prevent things like this. Search your beloved web sites to try and find the story on that boimbing and it's hard to find. Why?, Well, I guess it doesn't make the news unless an American soldier messes up. Any answers to that one? Do you see any bias here? Why would a bombing and killing of eight children not make the news but the beating of a prisoner would?

The rest of the world loves to see us mess up and reports anything that supports their case.

There it is.

I love you brother. Please try to see the whole picture.

In Christ,

t.

River - Well, of course politics is involved! It's the government! And oil is a national interest. Don't tell me you don't have negative feelings of some sort everytime gas prices are hiked! C'mon, be honest!

Ted - Wow!

You go, bro!

Thanks for that report, Ted...and that is just ONE example on ONE day, right? What happened today???

Oil is collaterral (sp?) for those mega-wealthy individuals who fund wars...but if the Taliban had not given us plenty of excuse we wouldn't be there. Same with Iraq.

Saddam could have come clean about his WMD programs during the CLINTON Administration and the Clinton-ites would not have been demanding regime change. Luckily, we have a President who wasn't afraid to follow through on that.

I agree that there probably not all the soldiers that have abused Iraqis have been caught. However it's very unfair to imply such abuse is widespread. People making accusations should be prepared to produce PROOF!

Do you still cry for them when it is Americans doing the killing???

All of us do.

It is a mistake to ASSUME that we dont' care about the lives of innocent people, Smash. When it comes to dictators, enemy combatants, and brutal terrorists it is BECAUSE we care about the lives of others that those kind of people need to be snuffed to end the misery of those they are intending to harm.

Why not just assassinate the guilty ones instead of bombing entire cities and villages of innocent people?

Ted,

I am sorry for the lack of support from some but know that I as well as most of us appreciate your service to our Nation. I explain to those critics of the war and the military that the war was going to be fought regardless of their views. We had no choice. I just appreciate that we had strong leadership who decided to fight the war on the soil of the aggressors rather than wait for them to come to our cities.

It gives me comfort to know that our troops are in capable hands of leaders like yourself and appreciate that y'all are the vanguard of our liberties. I can sleep restfully at night while men like you are washing sand out of your hair & breakfast eggs and living in less than desirable conditions.

May God Bless you and protect you brother,

Wayne

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
