Good morning!

As some of you know I have been accepted to Oklahoma Baptist in Shawnee, Ok. I am awaiting word from both Messiah College and Toccoa Falls.

Here is the situation.....from Monday April 16 to Sunday the 22nd of April I am on vacation.

I am going to be paying a visit to Messiah College on April 21.

I have received an invitation to attend a day at Oklahoma Baptist. That is on the 18th of April. The same week I am on vacation. And the same week I am going to Messiah.

The fact that I received this invitation for the same week I am on vacation leads me to believe this is from GOD. Then again, it might just be my frivilous nature that is telling me to go.

I know that it is HIS will for me to go to school. Or I would not have been accepted. At least that is my thought.

Baring a miracle influx of cash I would be Greyhounding to Shawnee, OK. I cannot afford airfare. That is a 2 day journey. Leaving on the 16th would put me there late on the 17th.

The gist of this is that I need to know if I am meant to go to Shawnee, OK. Why is it that I got the invite for a visit the SAME week I am on vacation? Both the invite to Shawnee and Messiah in Philadelphia came after I selected my vacation days.

So is it GOD saying go?

Is it GOD saying "Let's see if David makes the right choice by not going"?

Or is it a strange coincidence?

This is God's sense of humor. He probably means either is OK with Him, and your choice should be based on what you think is best.

That is encouraging Leonard. Should I make a week out of it? So does that mean that Toccoa, the only one I am not scheduled to visit, is not for me?

Stick to your original plan. IMO Correct me if I am wrong; the original plan was to visit the school you are going to attend, no? It that is case, stick to it. How could you not?

I did not get accepted to Messiah College, yet. I got accepted to Oklahoma.

I don't know yet which I will attend. Since I don't know which one God wants me to. Although I pray that Leonard is correct. And God is telling me, in a humorous way, that both are according to HIS will for me. Or I will not be accepted to Messiah, or Toccoa. And then HIS choice for me will clear. I did not get invited to attend an open house at Toccoa.

Ah............okay, gotcha!

Well, perhaps He is giving you the choice. Perhaps the Lord wants you to make the decision. Maybe we're overthinking this. Maybe either choice is the right choice.

Hey Mikado -

Right now isn't the time to try to figure out God's will. You see, often He will exercise our discernment by teaching us how to figure things out. What I mean is this: visit both schools. Pray for "signs" to look for while there. Listen for what the Lord may be saying while there. As was said, it could be that either school may be OK with God for you; that's why you need to check them out. You may learn something in the journey. And often, the journey is more important than the destination, if you know what I mean.

BTW, I attended Messiah from '88 - '92. I know the school has had some changes since then - but do you have any questions?

I would love to hear your whole story from Messiah.

What did you study? What was it like Campus Life, did you get a job on campus, is the food any good, the dorms? Pretty much the whole schmear. And I think I will visit both. Here is a new portion to the situation.

Owing to the travel time situation. Is it right to ask the folks at my Churches if they can help fund the cost of airfare. Two days bus travel is a bit much for me. And I would have to pay a hotel for a couple of nights. Since the bus arrive in OK at 3:30pm the day before. And depart at 11:05am the next day. If I fly I could probably take a plane the same day. And return the same day.

Marnie: I do tend to overthink things. It's a weakness of mine, sometimes.

:whistling: That would take a while.

What did you study?

I eventually studied Natural Science - Biology. But since you are interested in theater, I believe you would benefit more from my sharing on the theater department. I did participate in the Drama Club for a year, as well as participate in two plays. I don't know how different things are, but they do seem to have a decent program. I'm not sure if they have anything that will help with the media side of acting, but the stage acting training is well taken care of.

Do you have the Web link to Messiah?

What was it like Campus Life,

I unfortunately, had a rough time on the social aspect of things . . . but I could have had that anywhere. But there are opportunities for interaction. Dorm floors have a leader (Resident Assistant, I think it's called?) and usually a spiritual leader. I recommend you get involved in a club - there are many, many ministry-oriented clubs on campus. Find one or two that appeals to you - I recommend no more than two . . . more than that and you have time issues.

did you get a job on campus,

I worked custodian over one summer. They have conferences throughout the summer, so students are needed to help keep the place running. You'll appreciate this: aor the time he was a student there, among the kitchen staff, there was a guy and his girlfriend who mimicked Monty Python and the Holy Grail around the eating area. He would "ride the horse" and she would follow - only using bowls since they didn't have coconuts. They would come out the kitchen and loop around us, then head back to the kitchen. It was hysterical!

is the food any good, the dorms?

Food is great!

Dorms are good, too. Most residents, guys are and girls are in separate buildings. But in some, they are on opposite wings. They've fancied up the residences since I was there; now they have very nice lobbies in between buildings that used to be separate.

Pretty much the whole schmear.

OK, I'll have to get bakc to you on this, when I have more time to write, OK?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
