I think pure theistic evolution ends up becoming indefensible for the Orthodox believer. Theistic evolution is going to say that God established the basis for everything and then let it go from there. In other words, His hand was not involved in the process. Under this view, Christians then have to explain evil, the fall of man, how to deal without a literal Adam and Eve, etc. Theologically, it becomes completely indefensible. That isn't to say they aren't saved, just that they'll have a very hard time explaining the Christian faith.

Well Said!

Good Think, Brother!

My All Time favorite thread at Worthy "If You're New Here Please Read" is currently showing scriptures which just break my heart!

http://www.worthyboards.com/index.php?showtopic=57193

I see myself within these scriptures and I take them very personal.

I also see my brothers and my sisters within them and I rejoice and I pray.

Many of these scriptures cause my spirit to cry out to The Lord for His Grace and for His Protection to cover and to enlighten our minds and our hearts with The Spirit of Jesus.

My prayer always is for The LORD Jesus to rein within my heart and yours and for us to eternally abide within Him!

I find within my being a growing deep anger at the demonic powers that blind this world to The Lord Jesus and that bedevil my dear family.

I rejoice in the sure promise that The One called Worthy will stomp the head of this monster once and for all!

Come Quickly Lord Jesus, Come Quickly!

Hallelujah!

So, with a heart of joy and thanksgiving to my LORD for Worthy, Brother Keifer, The Servants and for all of my Dear Brothers and Sisters here, I will post a few......

Blessed be the Lord God of Israel; for he hath visited and redeemed his people, (Luke 1:68 KJV)

He sent redemption unto his people: he hath commanded his covenant forever: holy and reverend is his name. (Psalms 111:9 KJV)

Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. (Acts 4:12 KJV)

For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. (Romans 14:11 KJV)

But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. (2 Peter 2:1 KJV)

Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time. (1 John 2:18 KJV)

Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; (1 Timothy 4:1 KJV)

As anyone reading through the Faith and Science threads at Worthy may have noticed, I believe the last 100 plus years of evolutionary investigation has shown evolution to be a total scientific fraud.

The fossil record alone shows me this.

The new knowledge of Genetic programing sets my spoof alert up to red alert and pushes this fable into pure statistical "what-if" nonsense.

However, all that is just a minor consideration.

When I look at the mockery this fable makes of The LORD Jesus Christ and of the Blood shed for the remission of sin and of The Holy Scripture, I fear and pray for the children who feed upon this poison.

Evolution says No Adam - No Sin- No Creator God - Death Forever!

Literal Bible! Ha! Ha!

Adam The Sinner

Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
Romans 5:12

Jesus The Savior

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
Romans 5:8-9

Jesus The Creator The Binder of All Creation

Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
Colossians 1:15-17

Jesus The Peace

And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.
Colossians 1:20

The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:

The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:

The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.

And they shall put my name upon the children of Israel; and I will bless them.

Numbers 6:24-27

But FresnoJoe, in no way do I take my eyes off of our Lord Jesus Christ. I completely believe that He created all things, and was with the Father in the beginning. He certainly proved that in His Resurrection.

Dear Brother

I have never doubted The Love of The Savior for you.

I rejoice in my brother's relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ.

I eagerly look forward to the time we will meet and to the Good Times we will share as we worship our God together!

Hallelujah!

Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

I see no problem with believing that when God created the world, He also put in motion the process of evolution. All the while He was lovingly in control of creation. At a time chosen by Him, God created a man and a woman and walked with them in the Garden. They were created in His image; He breathed their very life into them.

I honestly can't see the problem.

Peace,

Fiosh

What a bunch of crap!!!

How can they make the jump that evolution disproves the existence of God? It does nothing of the sort. Some economists during the industrial revolution used it to justify greed and now morality is somehow tied to it? And theology?

So these atheists make the assumption since evolution is true - there is no God. Some christians go along with this too.

If evolution is true - God doesn't exist- therefore we must attack evolution - instead of attacking this HUGE fallacy and leap of logic implored by these atheists who are dead wrong.

Its OK Brothers.

First Things First

The Message

For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.
1 Corinthians 2:2

Then The Callings

The Victory

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
Romans 8:28

I posted what I believe to be a really short Biblical view if Our Lord Jesus as our Creator and as our Savior.

The important point is Jesus our Savior.

The Truth Will Come Quickly!

And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.

His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.

And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.

And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

Revelation 19:11-16

Pray for the lost and the hopeless and for "The Peace of Jerusalem"!

Maybe this topic wasn't such a great idea after all....

As one body of Christ, we Christians should not be pointing fingers at each other. (And I am very guilty of this; Sorry FresnoJoe  )

An intelligent conversation concerning the validity of evolution under the control of God would be a much better choice of debate.

Whether or not our personal opinions prove to be fact is negligible. We are all saved under the Blood of Jesus Christ (those of us that have accepted His Blood of course).

So maybe this thread should end soon...

I personally think it would be best...

To me a great thread can be where we become close family, forged in The Heart of His Word and in our quest for mutual understanding.

I do not count the blessings of fellowship I've enjoyed on this thread as anything less than a God Given gift and I thank The Lord for all who post or who just "drove" by and read.

I thank Undone for starting this thread.

I am blessed almost beyond measure by Systemstrike_7's passion for The Truth and by his defense of The Blood shed for the remission of sins.

Wow!

What a rowdy wonderful eternal family my Lord has given me!

Systemstrike7 brother, your testimony on this thread thrilled me.

I rejoice in you and in your Lord Jesus.

Keep On Keeping On!

Pop your Old Brother Joe if he misbehaves!

Maybe you can keep me on the straight and narrow, maybe not. :24::24::24:

Because Jesus rules, love rules and that is, I believe, the true treasure found within this thread.

The unbelievers just add spice and hope into this merry mix!

They are welcome indeed and they may yet be with us before The Throne.

Thank You Dear Brother for your patience and for your fellowship and for your passionate testimonity!

Praise The Lord!

Love, Joe

Depends on what you mean by evolution. If you mean the earth (geology) evolved over time through entropy and other factors, that species are millions of years old and the dinosaurs did exist before man, and that some species have evolved into other species for adaptability to the environment, then no, there's nothing wrong with that.

If by evolution you mean natural selection coupled with "random chance" formed the universe...or that naturalism rules the day and is a proper guide within the evolutionary camp, then no, a person cannot claim that and be a Christian. He must, at some point, give up one or the other.

AK,

Why do you say the first is okay? It obviously contradicts the Genesis account. I assume it may have to do with some of the scientifically "testable" aspects of establishing the age of the universe and our planet.

NOTE: As I type this, I am currently watching the Discovery Channel's, "Before We Ruled the Earth: Hunt or Be Hunted". These people throw around some of the wildest speculation of what man did before and after he discovered fire as though it were fact. They've painted a picture they like with a few of the actual puzzle peices and pass it off as science. It's insulting. They may as well make a sitcom of it because it's that laughable.

Hi Undone,

have you ever looked through Ken Hams stuff, ther is a web site www.AnswersInGenesis.org

You may find information there to help you.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
