It isn't all done once you get saved, that is just the first step. There are many people who take that first step and never go any further. It is a continual process that people can, and sometimes do opt out of.

i just noticed that you added "do opt out of."

you added this thought. the scripture didn't say that. ... 3xR0c|<stAr

This particular debate is the very reason I left the Pentecostal Church...

God's grace is sufficient to cover all sins. Period.

The church I attended taught that ANY SIN not specifically listed in prayer asking for forgiveness was enough to lose my salvation.

a pastor once said this

"We can let go of God but God will not let go of us"

he said that we get angry at God we walk away from God but God is still there waiting patiently

protecting some times becuase, of our own stupidity. He is still watching over us and Waiting for us to once again take HIS HAND

I don't know about osas but I do know that the Lord promised to never leave us or forsake us

I also know that HE looks at the heart

i once said on this forum that salvation is not a tangible gift. it's not something you can grab and give back.

when scripture says "you were sealed with that Holy Spirit (Eph 1:13)" that is not a ziplock back seal.

that is a stamp on you that you are pronounced to be God's property. No one can break that. ... 3xR0c|<stAr

Yet we know that by our own efforts we are doomed.

If we have faith we will want to please God and the churches role is to help us do that and to lead others to Him. If you don't want to please Christ you don't have faith (regardless of what you may think). These works are simply confirmation of our faith they give us peace of mind and we do them because we want to do them, not out of compulsion. If you are doing them out of compulsion, fear or hope of reward you have a faith problem, and it is a serious one.

But to sit around and worry over my individual sins, forget it; I am totally corrupt I realize that and I will confess my known sins, and confess my unknown sins and offenses daily, and my faith tells me that I have total confidence that those sins are wiped clean. Not believing that Christ can forgive any sin, now that is the ultimate work of Satan. Any good I do is from Christ not from me anyway. We can have confidence, fear breeds resentment and judgementalism.

Anyway that is off the main topic, I like Pentecostals and an honest search for Holiness is always a good thing.

Jesus made the issue quite simple. Jesus Said He would not let Satan pluck a sheep from His hand. Notice, He did not say that He would not let a sheep escape. He did not say He would not let a sheep leave. He did not say he would hold a sheep prisoner. He let sheep enter his sheep fold by choice. His sheep fold is a voluntary place to be, not a prison. His sheep can enter one time, His sheep can leave one time. Jesus promised He would protect these sheep from attacks. Jesus did not say He would hold the Sheep prisoner. Jesus gives us free choice. That choice is never taken away from Us.

it's great to introduce a bunch of "if's." but i dont stand on "if's."

many people look for different ways to look at things. some buy it and some don't.

a sheepherder that has an open gate that let's his sheep wander in and out at their ownfree is not a responsible sheepherder.

theyre playing more of a door attendant. ... 3xR0c|<stAr

Yes, but Jesus DID say that if one of a hundred wandered away from the flock, the Good Shepherd would go and seek it and bring it home. Sheep, in Biblical symbolism, are always believers. Do we or do we not have a GOOD shepherd?

In Jesus,

Ruth

You must look at what Jesus said. He said He would not Let Satan pluck one out of His hand. He did not say He would keep them as prisoners.

that's fine if you want to look at things in a different light.

but we can talk about looking at things in a different light with tons of other scriptures.

there is a point here and I understand it. I dont want to add or introduce anything else to it.

I take it at face value.

every wonder why Christ uses sheeps?

Because theyre not the smartest of animals and they lack intelligence.

the sheepherder knows this. he has a responsibility to make sure it behaves properly in the flock.

In Jesus,

Ruth

We have The Good Shepherd. He will seek to to bring back the wandering sheep that belongs to Him. However, freely we gave ourselves to Him and freely we can reject Him. If one Rejects Him and no longer desired to be His sheep, then He can not guard it because it is no longer His. God gave us free will. At no point does He ever take this Free will away from us.

There were ninety and nine that safely lay

In the shelter of the fold.

But one was out on the hills away,

Far off from the gates of gold.

Away on the mountains wild and bare.

Away from the tender Shepherd

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
