as controversial as it is surely the act of homosexuality is not a sin?

i have many homosexual friends who are just as confused about the idea of heterosexuality as i am of their outlook on life, it is something that is inherent to them. everyone i know who is genuinely gay and not just vying for attention has said that they were born that way and have known that as long as they have known love or understood sex. the way i see it God gave us sex to show our love and compassion for the one person in the world that we are meant to be with and if homosexuality on any level is done to express their pure and honest love for someone that God created then this is surely not a sin? is it right to deny 2 people love for each other if they are pure in their intentions? would you condemn someone to a life of lies and missery rather than let them pursue their own life? it has been proved that homosexuality occurs in animals too, therefore if it is a sin to do this, then can animals have free thought and choose to sin? if so does that not lead to the idea that all living things are animals including humans to some degree? the bible would disagree. it is clear to me that it is something that although we cannot understand and is in the minority it is not necessarily wrong, only different.

Some of you people speak as if you know how a homosexual works. You think they don't know how to read and comprehend what the scriptures think about them. Don't you think they ever pour themselves every night hoping God would change them? How can you ever phantom the thinking of another? How can you ever grasp any idea what emotions a person exhibits other than your own?

Does God love homo's? God has no emotion. He sees only the action. Therefore, they really shouldn't be putting things in the wrong place.

Why do you sound like you feel you have to be an apologist for gays...A homosexual is caught up in sin ...just like everybody else who is...God only sees the actions?...Wrong He also sees the intent of the heart and aren't we all going to have to answer for all our "Actions" and thoughts before the True and Living God...

Hbr 4:12 For the word of God [is] quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and [is] a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

...and who is the WORD?

A gay person is deeply deceived if he or she thinks that the LORD is going to cut them some slack because nobody can understand just how it is to be gay and to struggle within ourselves... because...Yada..Yada...Yada! Sin is Sin...and that particular sin God Himself says it is an abomination before His eyes...and I can't think of one other sin which has the designation of being an "Abomination"...

God is not going to change for anyone...It was an abomination in Sodom and Gomorrah's day...and it still is today...also... God is not going to change anyone who doesn't want to be changed ...and wants THAT above the pleasure of gay or lesbian sex...For sure...it is a hard bond of sin to break free from...but it can be and has been done...But the person in question has got to really want it...the hands-down... Gospel truth is ...Jesus will keep ALL who want to be kept!...albeit kept drugs, deviant sex, adultery, fornication, booze, witchcraft...whatever ...He is willing to forgive, wash clean and redeem!:)

We'll if your asking does God love a Sinful lifestyle, Then the answer is no

Yes, I typed this earlier but decided to post it as a topic so that I could get a legitimate response.

If God smote Sodom and Gomorrah (plz don't kill me on spelling, I do not have my bible on hand) for the homosexual acts committed there, does he love the gays? Or were they just so far gone that God knew that they would only pervert the world? What?

Many people try to put God in some trick bag with the specious questions...'Does God love Homosexuals"...when His Word clearly says to all who read it "that for God so loved the world" ...that includes everyone...well then since good loves them ...then hat they are doing can't be all that bad... well the balance of His Word is never followed up with...

Rom 11:21 For if God spared not the natural branches, [take heed] lest he also spare not thee.

Rom 11:22 Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in [his] goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.

Everyone is quick to say the first part..."God loves"...but forgets the ..."God judges"

He is both GOOD...and SEVERE! Great Goodness to the righteous...and Very Severe to all evil.

So despite His magnificent LOVE...He put His Word above the Love in His heart...and He cannot and will not go against His Word...All must repent...and be baptized...and turn from whatever sinful life they are in...albeit homosexuality or any else. :24:

I've been through this thought process myself. Let me share my thoughts on it.

1 God decides what is a sin. God said it is a sin in the bible, therefore it is a sin.

2 Animals were not created in the image of God, and are not accountable for their 'sins' (if indeed they do sin).

3 God designed sexual expression to occur between a man and a woman, and it is analogous to the love between Jesus and the Church (the bride and the bridegroom). To allow homosexuality is to blur this.

4 We dont really need to understand homosexuality, other than to know that it is sinful, it is a stronghold, Jesus died to cover this sin, and it IS possible to change.

Paul obviously agreed that God loves gays, because Jesus died to cover the sin. This is evidenced by the ex-gay christians in the Corinthian Church in 1 Cor 6.

So in short, yes, God loves gays. God loved them so much that He sent Jesus to die for them to forgive their sins.

The bible also says that God disciplines those He loves.

We must repent, turn from our sin, and turn to our maker. God Himself grants us the strength to repent and sanctifies us as we are changed to more reflect Him.To Him belongs all praise forever!

One of the things that I had a hard time grasping was the fact that God hates certain people:

Psalm 5:5, "The boastful shall not stand before Thine eyes; Thou dost hate all who do iniquity,"

Psalm 11:5, "The Lord tests the righteous and the wicked, and the one who loves violence His soul hates."

Lev. 20:23, "Moreover, you shall not follow the customs of the nation which I shall drive out before you, for they did all these things, and therefore I have abhorred them."

Prov. 6:16-19, "There are six things which the Lord hates, yes, seven which are an abomination to Him: 17 Haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, 18 A heart that devises wicked plans, feet that run rapidly to evil,

19 A false witness who utters lies, and one who spreads strife among brothers."

Hosea 9:15, "All their evil is at Gilgal; indeed, I came to hate them there! Because of the wickedness of their deeds I will drive them out of My house! I will love them no more; All their princes are rebels."

It's often said that God hates the sin but loves the sinner...but that is not what is implied in those scriptures. He is speaking of the people...

Thoughts?

Wow this is my first post on this board and I am so impressed with all I have read..

First of all to Justaguy.. I am not a guy nor am I a homosexual but I do have some insight into what you are saying.. I have known and loved my husband since I was 16 years old.. We have been married for the last 32 of the 45 years since that time and my husband spend seven of the between years living as a homosexual. While this whole discussion is enlightening. I have to add one important thing has not been mentioned.. or perhaps I missed it in trying to keep up :emot-hug: That point is this.. We are made in God's image, truly.. but that is where the comparison ends.. All the emotions we talk about are viewed through the eyes of those who exist in a fallen world.. God has never been there. When we use words like Jealousy , hatred, love, forgiveness .. we are describing them much as John described the battle of Armegeddon.. as well as we can.. as we know them.. just because some of them have a more negative standing in our fallen world it does not mean that in their pure form in God that they are negative at all. Jealously could be the only way to decribe a preference for each of us stronger than we are capable of perceiving. Forgiven a grace too high for us to perceive, and hatred could mean a complete exclusion from God...instead of a viseral passion against someone. Even Love as much as we desire and honor it cannot compare to His love for us. I am the mother of five children.. there are times when I completely abhor the actions of one or the other of my children.. but I do not hate them, I do not wish to be excluded from them or to make them suffer.. but , like God has shown us, discipline at times is the only way to innoculate an ignorant mind against a greater danger. making discipline an act of love not hatred, dislike, or detachment. (as the Bible, and many of you have already stated) Justaguy.. yes I know many same sex attracted people who want to be anything but gay.. and thankfully most of the ones I know have managed to become post gay.. and no I do not think it is just a choice.. I believe that homosexual activity is a choice once you are an adult and you know that God says don't do it.. but I also know that long before most of those actions ever begin, many deep set emotions were perverted early on in life by situations over which the affected child had no control, making choice out of the question at that stage. However, God loves you just as you are.. too many times He speaks of His love without qualifying what you must do to have it for it not to be so. But because He loves you, He will not allow you to stay in a bad place without making every effort to save you. No matter how our culture may change what they consider to be acceptable, or our lawmakers put into law.. nothing will still that small voice inside that says, this is not right come to Me and be made whole.

Hi,

I am very new to the Bible and this topic is one that requires a lot of thought. Being so new to the Bible (I have only read through Deuteronomy) I have a question. Mostly when I talk to people about this subject they bring up that God said it was an abomination to have sex with another man, and they cite Leviticus. But also in Leviticus, God goes through many laws, for instance he says that people who follow Him cannot eat pork. Now I know for a fact that some of the people I talk to eat bacon, however as there is so much of the Bible that I have not read I am wondering if God ever decided that it was ok to eat pork...

I am just curious,

Thank You

"LOVE THE SINNER, HATE THE SIN"

God loves all people....but all people but realize..... God will judge those who fail to repent (even though God may love them deeply).

Our God is a righteous God, demanding righteous behavior. The motivation of the heart should be to "repent" or "turn away" from all sin.

If we love God we will, with the power He gives us only, begin to change our lifestyle. Will we slip up? most certainly. Will God forgive? YES.

What then shall we do? "Press On"....fighting the war against sin. Homosexual behavior is clearing a sin, according to the Word. Once we know it's a sin

we should then make sure we "repent", turn towards God for the power to fight the sin..... and as such, God will give us the victory. One persons sin might

be homosexual behavior, others it might be stealing, or adultery..... sin is sin We all will gain power to overcome sin only as we seek complete

dependence on God. Does God love the sinner? Yes.. but He hates the sin. But as we love Him.... we will strive to repent as never before!! Why? Becasue those who love God

seek to please Him, our Master!

Hello CaseMan

Glad to see that the bible is part of your getting to know Jesus... Let me ask you first...Are you using the KJ version of scripture? The LORD will fulfill all of His Word..as it is written in the KJV... If you don't have one here is a link to a searchable online AKJV

http://www.apostolic-churches.net/bible/search.html

I am just curious,

Well this is the TRUTH about the matter... Jesus fulfills ALL of the Law... and that which "CEASED" to be an abomination before the True and Living God...ie: Dietary Laws ...Was done by Christ... read: Acts10

9-15... Here is where Christs replaces the Hebrew dietary laws for a New Law... Christ did NOT do that with the abomination of homosexuality... it was and abomination in the OT...and that law was reaffirmed in the NT...Read:

Romans 1:26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

Romans 1:27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

So..... This PARTICULAR ABOMINATION was NEVER changed, revised or reversed... Look food is just that FOOD......A man won't loose his soul for all eternity for eating at Red Lobsters... CHOOSING TO LAY WITH A MAN AS WITH A WOMAN... is a conscience choice to defile not only the Word of God (WOG) but the "Temple" of God too!...and no matter how "MAN" tries to subvert the WOG... by saying it doesn't mean what it clearly says... it is man trying to please the flesh more than God!...I hope this helps!

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
