whether you practice homosexuality, had a bad thought or have pre-marital sex...its all the same.

Shalom Ex,

You always come to this. No one is saying that homosexuality is any different. Please understand that.

BUT, the OP was asking specifically about homosexuality, so please, stay on that topic. The "select group" is what the OP asked about. It's considerate to stay on that topic and not decry using homosexuals as the topic.

The point is, once you are saved, you are FREED from sin. If you choose to walk in it, continue it, you turn your back on Jesus and His commands. If the Uncle is willfully practicing homosexuality, he is not living for Jesus, he is living for sin.

How do you know if someone is a "practicing" homosexual? I mean I am not going to ask someone if they are sleeping with their girlfriend, likewise I am not going to ask someone I suspect is gay if they are having sex.

Shalom,

The Scriptures say those who "practice homosexuality", so this is a distinguishing point. In other words, one who continues in sin, willfully, after they are saved.

Paul also tells us not to speculate who will go to heaven and who will go to hell, he says turn our eyes on ourselves in these matters.

Shalom Smalcald,

The OP's question is valid. It is not wrong to ask these questions here.

The question is, does someone in willful sin go to Heaven? The Bible says no.

1 Corinthians 6

9Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality,[c] 10nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.

Oh, I am sorry Vicki, certainly the OP's question is very valid, that is not really what I meant.

Working at celibacy isn't necessary. Jesus heals and restores, and frees people from homosexuality.

Are you saying that we will be free from all temptation? Are you free from all temptation to sin?

I don't think that is what scripture says. Homosexuality is no different from any other sin.

Temptation never ends.

I think sexual sin of any kind is different from other sins and much harder to maintain the victory over.

lovely, we have a troll. i'll report that. in the meantime, i have some questions for exrockstar... or is it smalclad... i'm getting confused on who i'm talking to, maybe to both?

first ... do you agree that if a homosexual is living with someone, shares the same bed, refers to them as 'lover" or "partner", that they are voluntarily acknowledging that they are continuing to walk in sin?

if a homosexual identifies someone else as their 'lover' or 'partner' even though they don't share the same home, you're pretty safe in assuming that the individual is involved in a gay relationship with the person they call lover?

if you witness affectionate moments with sexual overtones between two individuals who identify themselves as gay, do you acknowledge that they are most likely still engaging in an inappropriate and unbiblical relationship?

if a homosexual is hanging out at places where other homosexuals often meet, such as a gay bar, do you think it's safe to assume they are still living an unrepentant way of life?

this is not about passing judgement on someone, it's about assessing a situation.

it may not be up to us to admonish them.... but if they are living a homosexual lifestyle and calling themselves a christian, we'd BETTER be about the Father's business and admonish them, according to scripture! (col 3:16)

my most important question:

do you believe that a practicing homosexual will enter into heaven? and if so, and if they consider themselves "saved", do you feel exempt from any responsibility to warn them of the risk they are taking with their soul?

Hebrews 12:6

Shalom

Ex, the Scriptures are clear. They say what they say.

Romans 1

18For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. 19For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. 20For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. 21For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22Claiming to be wise, they became fools, 23and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles.

24Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves, 25because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen.

26For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; 27and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error.

28And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done. 29They were filled with all manner of unrighteousness, evil, covetousness, malice. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, maliciousness. They are gossips, 30slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, 31foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless. 32Though they know God's decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them.

youre taking scripture describing atheist and paganist (Romans really) and making it fit to this thread.

go ahead...if you push hard enough it'll fit.

the passage was written about those who had KNOWN GOD (not had some abstract knowledge of, but had known Him personally), not about those who had never had a relationship with Him. you and i have had this discussion before. if YOU push hard enough, it still won't fit...

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
