I began to think about this today as I was thinking about what is being said in one of the apologetics threads. What I was thinking was that the people who participate here are either folks on fire for God or folks determined to oppose Him. Few who are straddling the fence or know nothing about Him. Those people probably aren't logging on to a Christian Forum.

Though we have the best intentions of trying to help people, are we neglecting our ability to help someone who may truly need it? For instance, if I spend time with a hardcore non-believer (possibly retrobate), I am missing the opportunity to spend time in prayer, in the word, teaching my kids, local missions, or helping others who are TRULY searching.

Something to pray about for sure... :emot-fail:

I don't know undone, do I spend too much time here, yes probably............but physically or intellectually I can't get out and become a street preacher. I do what I can to show God working in my life by the way I live it. I don't hide what I am and who I believe in, and answer peoples questions to the best of my ability. God didn't give me the type of mind needed to debate people, so thats not my gift. I give to Christian charities, and to causes that that touch my heart that I hear about. But, I've been told, and so I believe, that I have a heart for people, to help them to laugh and give comfort when they are in pain, or just be an ear when they need to talk. I do what I can, and what I feel led to, and thats all I can do. :emot-fail:

Only You can answer what it is the Lord is asking of you at any particular moment in time..

Whatever you are doing God will bless if you are doing it in His name.. :emot-fail:

1Co 10:32 Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God:

1Co 10:33 Even as I please all men in all things, not seeking mine own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved.

An interesting question that can't have a right or wrong answer. Everybody's life and responsibilities etc are so different.

Personally speaking, I am just so grateful that I have found this forum. On some days, it is my only contact with the outside world. :emot-fail: This might not be ideal, but that is the way it is at the moment.

I didn't mean to rain on the parade. I think it's true that this should be judged on a case by case basis.

I suppose I wish we could see more positive results with non-believers. Anyone who has paid much attention to many of my recent posts can probably tell that this is the case. It's probably selfish of me to expect results like this. I know, I know, we're planting seeds and such.

I think I'm still suffering the after effects of realizing that creation science does not have all the answers hammered down in a irrefutable way like I once thought. I still believe and that's just the point....it's all about faith...period.

I don't look at this as a place to necessarily lead people to Christ. If God puts someone before yes we should help us. I see this as a place those people who are on-fire for God can encourage one another. It is also a place that a non-believer can come and we should anwer any questions they have, but I use WB as an extra source of strength.

Undone: I know your fusteration. I'm an intellectual by nature, who likes to debate too much. I was recently trying to convince & prove the truth of the Word of God. I wasn't having any luck, so I went to the Lord about it in prayer. I was reminded that I didn't "see" the Truth until the Holy Spirit showed me. It was a humbling moment for someone who's been in the ministry. I repented, and took a different approach. More prayer for the individuals to have "eyes that see & ears that hear", and less debate. I don't have to prove Who I know. And as far as Creationalism & Science, we'll get all our answers in time. When I come across a question I don't know in reference to Science or the Bible, I refocus on Jesus. Either He is who He says He is, or not. I don't have any doubts about Jesus, I know Him personally.

Blessings Undone from New Orleans,

About the best we can do is follow our hearts. I have prayed on many occassions on the same concerns you have. The thing I have come to learn is , We need this experience with the world just as badly as the person who may be waiting for us later. All of life is a learning experience and we need to take it all in. God did not send us hear to be together and share our hearts and minds simply by coincidence. We are all here for varied reasons , but nevertheless , all hear to learn about God and HIS people. The more I come in contact with God's people, the more more I learn more about myself. I believe if God wanted me elsewhere, I would have already been there. Also, not everyone is needed to "preach to the congregations" as many of us are needed to work with the individuals who are still confused and have many other questions about what the preachers are saying. It can be a bit much for one who is just beginning to learn and find Jesus. And those of us here and there are much needed and necessary to be examples of what True Christians are to be like .

A lady where I work told me yesterday that she had been noticing me around and she noted that I always seem to be smiling and happy. She then said that she felt she could talk with me because I seemed easy to talk with and she knew I was a Christian. Oddly, that same week, I was beginning to wonder if I was having any affect on anyone since I doubted my own self at times. Why and how would God need me to work with anyone when I questioned my own reverence/undrestanding of HIM. The new friend was trying to find her own way to God and desperately needed positive support that God was there for her and wondered if anyone really cared for her well-being?? I smiled and simply asked her if she thought that I was there with her by accident?? She agreed and noted that there was no way that I approached her at the exact time that she was doubting God and her need to speak with someone that represented HIM> I have had this same situation happen with me approx. 40 times in my recent years. For me and my walk, this is suffient evidence for me that this is what God is using my life for. And I'm not hesitant to share my "cross" with anyone who may have the need to know if I feel it necessary, as I believe I am a miracle in the making directly from God.

Continue to walk and pray with God and listen to the others out there that are telling you what you need to hear. People like me or the ones that are asking for your help and guidance. These are the ones that will direct you to your calling. But I know that I know that it all begins here on this and other Christian forums.

In HIS own time.

Blessings

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
