Family Out of Order

I am deeply troubled that our family order (God implemented), has self-destructed. If you read in Scripture, there was a perfect order ordained by God for everything, but especially for the church body and the family body.

We have lost our heads! There is no order in either, (for the most part). Man and woman were to come together in marriage for a very distinct purpose in God's eyes, but we have taken it upon ourselves to superimpose our own order now, and that includes the order of the family body. Our children are confused! They do not understand commitment and the Oneness of the marriage covenant, and adultery, is the in thing now. Whether we want to admit it or not, we have now become a nation of fornication by majority. To live with another person, and not be married, is a work of the flesh, not the spirit.

I see how many problems this causes for the children, who have no say so in the matter, yet will reap a harvest of unrighteousness from this practice. They are being taught that the sanctity of marriage is no longer valid, and will continue the legacy. I am distraught over this. Marriage was to be a covenant, but we decided we didn't like that order ordained by God, so we think we'll go around it, and just not get married. It doesn't work, it causes us as a nation to jump from bed to bed and relationship to relationship. It is damaging to our children.

To destroy the order of families, is to destroy the very fabric of society. Once the family loses it's head, so does everything else, because the order is out of whack. The first order of things is God/Christ/Husband/Wife/Child. When that order becomes fractured, the whole of a nation does too. We have missed the mark in all the areas above. God is not revered, Christ is not revered, Husband/Father is not respected, Wife/Mother is not cherished. Children become out of control. The balance God implemented is off, due to the disobedience of the people, therefore the nation will suffer the outcome. You could do a whole study of each person being out of kilter. Men don't lead, women do, children do. All wrong. It is not according to the ranking that God ordained. A family is much like an army. It was established with a certain order/chain of command. If the footmen begin having authority over the captains, then you have a very inneffective army unit. It is weakened greatly.

Ephesians 5:22 Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. 24 Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything. 25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her 26 to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, 27 and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. 28 In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. Well said, God is a God of order. In the home, church and even government. Without order you have confusion. Who would be the King of Confusion? Satan. . . Enough said.

Abusive authority is oppressing, Godly authority is protective. Satan would like you to believe the only kind of authority there is, is the oppressive kind. This leaves us more vulnerable to Satan's attacks on us. Satan does not want families under the protective umbrella of God's design for authority in families.

We must avoid leaning on our own understanding and instead acknowledge Him in everything and He will make our paths straight, just like the top verse in my signature says!

How true! Does Jesus have not have authority over His church? And does He not say that His yoke is easy and His burden is light? Is this not what TRUE authority is - an easy yoke? And did Jesus not show how that authority was to be used when He washed His disciples' feet? Authority through service, even to the laying down of one's life. Any other use of authority is ABuse and not what God ordained, nor what Jesus practiced. How is it possible to consider the Godly exercise of authority to be oppressive when we have a clear example from Jesus showing that it is precisely the opposite - it is liberating.

Godly authority is protective and shielding. That is why there should be a return of the hearts of the fathers to their children. Our children need protecting again. Spiritual protecting! We can see all around a society of children that are feeling very neglected and unloved. They are acting out, due to their desire for real authority/parenting to take control and give them direction again. But, instead we have a society of parents who are so engrossed in making money for their material things that the children are left without direction and morals. It is showing, and the fabric of our nation is wearing thin.

Malachi 4:6 He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers;

or else I will come and strike the land with a curse."

Luke 1:17 And he will go on before the Lord, in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to their children and the disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous--to make ready a people prepared for the Lord."

This is an excellent word, Suzanne. It's not about "authority" per se, but about having the spiritual wisdom and power to do good and what is right for the benefit of others.

From my observations as a pastor the family order is completely inverted from what God instructed it to be. Most families are headed, run, and completely controlled by the wife. Most men have become wimpish little creatures who bow to every order they receive from their wife. The last Church I served in had the problem spilling into the Church. The women wanted to run it also. Two of them kept coming to the deacons meetings as guests. Their real mission was to try and control the deacon board. I finally told them that the Church charter did not allow women deacons so stop coming to the meetings and trying to be a deacon.

I agree hr.. This was the motivation for the Adam's Responsibility thread. The confusion IS spilling over into the church. And just as it began in the story of Eve and the serpent, so it still is the same story today.

The serpent will try to go around godly order, anyway he can, and thus the confusion begins.

Most men ..... meaning a majority of men, do not bow to every order they receive from anyone. And most men don't like being ordered about anymore than most women do. People who like to order others around are controllers and manipulators. The Gentiles and unsaved do that, Christians shouldn't.
