I get a little worried when people say scripture is nonsense and ridiculous. What can I say, scripture says what it says, and not just one passage, look at the sweep of scripture and tell me what it says about ordaining women , what it says about women in the Church having authority over men? Of course Paul did not set those guidelines, the Word of God clearly shows who should be ordained a minister, and it is an institution that has been set aside for males. I don't know what else to say you simply cannot get around the plain and simple words which point this out.

Look at the major denominations that have ordained women in the past 50 years and tell me what they are doing today? You cannot ignore scripture and have it simply affect one issue, once we start relying on our own ideas we are going to do that on many other areas also.

Shalom Smalcald,

Amen.

1 Corinthians 1

5 For the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

Ohh really, more relevant than "I" think...........................I think their reasoning has absolutely nothing to do with with God says in scriptures. You and firehill and a few others can bandy about your "itching ears" version of the Bible all you want. I've read all of these threads, and the twist and turns and jumps made to make the Bible say what ya'll want it to say is remarkable, totally wrong, byt still remarkable.

Are we being just a tad self righteous here. :P Did you get up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. I've heard the numbers bed will give you the best sleep, perhaps you should try one.

Nope don't think so, got up on the same side I always do..............and as for self rightous................................

But we all know the scriptures which discuss who should be ordained, after reading those I don't know what else there is to discuss?

Yes we do! :P

Never women

Never unmarried men

Never unmarried men without children

And if a husband's wife dies who is a pastor then he needs to step down too! It's so simple.

Yes, we know, don't we! :24:

;)

Yes it is simple.

You really believe that a pastor has to be married, male and have children while alive otherwise he doesn't meet the requirements. Being consistent here one would HAVE to accept those requirements. There is no way around it. You think Paul set those guidelines?

Nonsense and ridiculous. Common sense speaks here.

You need to prove that Paul gave a universal prohibiton, by 'I do not allow at this time.' Do you really think that this is how God gives universal laws? Do you really think He forgot about it intell Paul? Think about these things for a minute. What also you need to do is show Paul repeating the guidlines that only married men with children while they are alive can fill those positions. The scriptures make sense if we let them.

Of course Paul did not set those guidelines, the Word of God clearly shows who should be ordained a minister, and it is an institution that has been set aside for males. I don't know what else to say you simply cannot get around the plain and simple words which point this out.

I'm also talking about males who are married and with children. Funny how you not ONCE responded yet to such status that I've been pointing out.

Look at the major denominations that have ordained women in the past 50 years and tell me what they are doing today? You cannot ignore scripture and have it simply affect one issue, once we start relying on our own ideas we are going to do that on many other areas also.

See here you go again. What about Pastors only who have children. If his children die and his wife then he MUST get married again AND MUST have more children.

You're avoding the illogical conclusion and how the IC has not lived up to those standards.

Shalom Ooops,

and a hearty Shalom to you dear sister.

Am I pious. Wow what a compliment. Thank you. Now isn't it better to give compliments. :P

pious = of or pertaining to religious devotion; sacred rather than secular: pious literature.

And thank you, I've been checking my mirror all morning..... and all I see is the cheerful dude with a silly smile on his face trying to spread Christian cheer. Here I'll turn the mirror toward you so you can see tooo.

Saints,

Gotta go but if Brother John happens to come back, show him some grace and patience.

Don't argue with him...just send a Report and one of the moderators will check it out.

Our intention is NOT to censor but rather it is to promote Christ. It isn't always a word and idea that offends but rather the presentation. It's that simple. Context is so important is discussions.

John appears very sincere and firm in his Faith. In the 4 years I have served here, I have seen many come ready for a fight and end up softening when they come to trust the brethren.

Y'all have fun with your discussion. I'm going outside now.

May the Lord Bless all of you richly!

brotherJohn. I have to say that I am very disapointed that you would post a private PM. Doesn't matter who is right or wrong. That shows a lack of integrity. Please reconsider doing that in the future. And please consider deleting that from your posts.

I guess then that settles it. As much as certain ones want to push for the prohibition on women, they better be doing it regarding single men and married men without children and married men who's wife's and children die. But ofcourse that's never pushed is it. Yes, truley remarkable.

As far as I'm concerned it does. These post do nothing but cause divisions, you believe one way, I believe another.......one day we will all know who was right, who was wrong. But here and now.................go your own way, I'll go mine. I have had my mind changed here by good honest scriptural supported debates, the debate about women preachers has "in my opinion" failed, and has been proven wrong over and over again. I at least, give the other side the benenfit of the doubt, and because of that, have changed my mind. But not on this one firehill sorry.

Don't avoid the implications I'm making please, like smalcald did. Just answer those because obvioulsy that has been what I've been addressing this whole time yet I keep getting in response this and that.

On the other hand be my guest keep avoiding the 'disobiedience' of the IC.

Just be consistent at least.

Shalom Ooops,

OOOPSSS! I forgot the word "false" before the word "piety." And no it wasn't a compliment, but I'm glad you took it as such. In other words, you are not one to call people catty or self-righteous when you are guilty of the same actions. So, please, just drop it OK?

Now, why not go outside and enjoy the lovely day?? :24:

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
