Fred Phelps preaches a gospel of hate, not the gospel of the bible.

Fred Phelps does not have the fruits of the Spirit.

Those Christians who know about his cult know its not good Christian theology.

Dont listen to the filth, the obscenities, of Fred Phelps hate.

I'm just trying to understand why his theology is any different from anyone on this board.

Oh, he DEFINITELY does not have the fruits of the Holy Spirit. But if you grow up in a very fundamentalist environment, then what he's saying might resonate.

I would be considered "fundamental" but his views do resonate with me at all. What Phelps teaches is not fundamentalism, and it would appreciated if you would not attempt to compare sincere Christians with the lowest common denominator. Fred Phelps is not even a Christian and does not teach biblical Christianity, so there is no comparison.

Phred and his group are a result of extreme Calvinism and extreme fundamentalism combined. I know many who hold to the TULIP Calvanist doctrine who do not go as far in their theology as Phred does. Most, in fact, do not ... because Phred is either insane or demon possessed. I would actually assume the latter, since he actually managed to convince people (albeit, mostly just his family and close friends) that he's correct.

NOT JUST YOUR AVERAGE DAY AT THE BEACH

"These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without

I know God doesn't change, but if He took many lives for their sins in the past, then why wouldn't He want homosexuals killed these days?

Well, Fred Phelps sounds like a wacko, but lots of gays get AIDS as a result of their own behavior, and suffer greatly and die of it. God isn't killing them, they are killing themselves, but God is allowing it, probably because He is trying to say something to them, and the rest of us. Of course that doesn't mean He loves anyone any less.

Phelps is a false teacher of the worst kind. His hateful antichrist gospel is not that of our Savior. His church is a joke. It is made up of his family pretty much. The evil these people do will not go overlooked. They are driving the unknowing away from God.

15Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

16Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?

17Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.

18A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

19Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

20Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

21Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

That's the first time I've ever seen "Fred Phelps" and "Theology" used in the same sentence. Sorry, this demon-possessed wierdo, and his whole inbred clan don't COLLECTIVELY have the IQ to do Theology!

By the way, preachers who preach a LOT about one 'pet peeve' sin, are usually plagued by that very sin themselves. They are trying to 'preach themselves out of temptation,' and that just doesn't work. So I'm guessing here that Fred Phelps is as gay as a debutant!

Good point Leonard. They are also lawyers. The whole lot of them. :emot-hug:

They kind of remind me of the Pharisees.

It seems odd that God would punish virgin girls in Africa and blood transfusion recipients as well.

Anything can be viewed as divine judgment (ie: Katrina, September 11, syphilis, earthquakes). I want some sort of proof before I accept that sort of conclusion.

- Well, sincere Christians on this board probably think I'm a shameful abomination who is oppressed by demons and such. So yes, sometimes I see a hazy connection between FP and SOME members here.

I wasn't implying that God was punishing anyone, tho this is possible in the case of gays. I was just making an observation. We really don't know why things happen, and we just have to accept that they do.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
