Hi Datan,

I real feel for you I know what it is like to feel totally alone, my situation is different form yours but non the less devastating.

I have found that you have to trust God to work in your life, not easy to do when everything around is bleak.

Look at the psalms for encouragement, David was loved by God but got into so many difficulties and cried out to Him all the time, that is my suggestion to you.

Cry out to God for change and 'believe' that He has heard you, keep praying and searching His word, you will find peace, believe me I have but it has taken a lot of heartbreak and hurt to get there...Trust God He will se you through.

Love in Jesus

Hiya Datan,

Reading you post brought back a lot of memories for me too. I grew up in a home with an alcoholic mother and I know that life can be so unbearable and lonely. But Datan you know God and I did not know Him like I do now so that is already the best thing in your favour in this situation.

Know that God loves you and you are very precious to Him. You could also pray that God would use this situation to bring your dad to the end of himself and into accepting Jesus. In fact God most probably has great plans for your life Datan and could also use this situation to mold and refine your character for His glory.

By the way my mother is now sober over 20 years and is a Christian who loves the Lord.

I will pray that God will strengthen and encourage you in your home and that you will be a blessing to your family.

Be encouraged,

Estie :emot-think:

I'll be praying for you Datan!

You see, if I distance myself enough from other people, then I can't get hurt. Then I'm safe from whatever possibility of pain there is.

You can't live your life afraid of being close to people! I understand how hard it must be when you don't feel safe in your own home, but you can't hide from people your whole life. Go to church youth programs and spend time with friends. Sometimes you will get hurt, I can't deny that, but you need friendships to feel like you belong. Despite the occasional hurt, it is well worth it to make friends and have people you can count on.

I'm really sorry to all those people I've offended and/or ticked off and/or confused and/or annoyed with my views on this site. I realize I'm not always right -- more to the point, I am always almost wrong.

You don't offend anyone here. No one here has all the answers and only someone thinking foolishly claims to. We're all either here to help or here to get help and often both.

But right now I'm asking for help. I need help. I need ... that's just the thing ... I don't know what I need at all.

I've explain to some of you how my father is an alcoholic, and I can't deal with it anymore. I really at my wit's end.

I hate his addiction, not him. I know the difference well enough, but it's just that I can't deal with the constant anxious lurch in the house, or the tension always rising -- the stress is really getting to me. I'm the point where I'm constantly snapping at people because I'm so off beat. I'm either always on guard against his moods, or trying to tell myself that I'm living a normal life, with normal people, and everything is okay.

Everything is not okay. Everything is very, very, very wrong.

I don't know if anyone can really understand what that feeling is like -- to know no peace within your house is the worst feeling possible. One's home is supposed to be a safe haven against the rest of the world, but, for me, it's the complete opposite. I feel safer outside where I don't know anyone, and because they're strangers, they can't hurt me.

You see, if I distance myself enough from other people, then I can't get hurt. Then I'm safe from whatever possibility of pain there is.

It's so lonely that way, though.

And that's why I'm asking for help. I don't know what it is I need, but whatever could help, I'm open to suggestions -- or prayer if you can.

Please help me and my family.

Thanks.

Lord bless.

-Datan.

Sounds like my house, sometimes. It gets better, believe me, know when? When you "trust in the Lord with all your heart and you lean not unto your own understanding". Give it up to God and he will make your "enemies" to live at peace with you.

Proverbs 16:7

7) When a man's ways are pleasing to the LORD,

he makes even his enemies live at peace with him.

That's a promise from God Himself. Bring that up to Him in prayer and see if He doesn't come through for you. God doesn't make promises He doesn't keep. Be sure your heart is right with Him first, but don't let the devil use that as an excuse to hold you down and convince you God won't deliver. God is always there, ready to help you. When you take Him up on His promises you prove you have faith in Him and His Word, that glorifies Him. Take Him up on that promise of peace in your home. I'll be praying for you. :emot-fail:

Dear Datan,

I am very sorry. I know it is painful. I hope you will go to God's Word to find comfort, He's always got advice for you there! And, maybe you can share some of His comfort with those around you when you find the Truth of His Words. I would advise going to Psalms as mentioned above.

Stay in His Word, so you'll know what to do.

In His Love,

Suzanne

Hi Datan,

Am praying for your situation too.

I can appreciate how you feel its like walking on eggshells not knowing how someone is going to be.

Keep in the word. Keep praying.

Bless you.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
