We are also told to watch out for "wolves in sheeps clothing" so trying to use all this guilt to make people not say what they believe about someone's teaching by the fruit they show the world, is just as wrong. Evidently alot of people think she is wonderful, but her fruit shows greed and materialism. So ya'll just keep on with the trying to shame people into shutting up, and I'm sure you'll succeed with some, but if I'm wrong in what I'm saying the Lord will show me, or I will pay for it when it comes time for the Lord to judge me.....................if I'm right, we'll I shouldn't be shut up by you or anybody else. The Lord Jesus didn't have a thing, neither did the Apostles.........but somehow its okay for those that are supposed to be Preachers of the Gospel to hoard up treasures on earth....... :emot-headphones:

I agree Scarletprayers :emot-rolleyes: and we are also told to test every spirit too. It's all in the Word of God. Jesus says we will know them by their fruits. He is the Good Shepherd and His sheep hear His voice and follow Him. :emot-pinochio:

So because Joyce Meyer does things that are not completely of the Lord, does that mean that the Lord can not use her to bless and edify some people?

I don't believe that to be true. I believe the Lord uses who he uses no matter who they are, to reach those he wishes to reach.

She is still a willing vessel, just a very beautifuly adorned vessel, surrounded by very expensive things. :emot-headphones:

ya know, i've been guilty of something and i'd like to confess.

i've had a very negative opinion of joyce meyer for years, because even though i'd never listened to her myself, i'd listened to what people here had to say about her... and i JUDGED her, accordingly.

last week i watched a video of one of her conferences, and i was BLESSED by it. and i LEARNED from it. the subject was control freaks.... either being a control freak and hurting those around you, or being such a wuss that you let yourself be a doormat for a control freak in your life. and the overall message she gave was to stand up and be a woman of God, and allow Him to be in control.

i wonder how many people buy into the gossip they hear on worthyboards about her, and develop a hateful attitude towards her because of it? i know i've been guilty. and yet even up until this moment, even as i type this out, it never occurred to me to repent for my attitude.

i think i'll go do that now. have a nice day, everyone.

Hey LadyC,

I totally agree, I actually like Joyce Meyer I find her very down to earth and from what I have seen of her it is always God that should get the glory.

Although she along with many other big ministries offer things for sale I dont buy unless I feel led by God to do so.

I do not like it when a ministry says for a gift of $25 you can have..... this nis not a gift its a sale Paleeeeseeee do they think we are all daft.

Only my opinion.

I didn't get to see the link before it was deleted. But I've seen Joyce speak on tv, and to me she is a powerful speaker. She has overcome a lot, having been sexually abused. That struck a chord with me, having someone in my family who was sexually abused.

I've never heard of this Manning guy.

I think it is because people (including me) categorize and in doing so, they have lumped Joyce into the WOF group. I have met some WOF folks that are solid believers and I have listened to some WOF folks teach twisted doctrine. The same goes for just about any other category you can name. There is good and bad... ALL fall short. It's just that some fall more short than others so they become the benchmark for the group.

You have blessed me LadyC with your expression of humility. :whistling:

She teaches the false "prosperity gospel". Joyce may not be as blatant as some of the other WoF people, but she is one of them. There is no need for hundreds of thousands of dollars of decorations in a ministry's offices. There are also questions about the objectivity of the ministry's board members who are all either lifelong friends of her's or her children.

***LINK REMOVED***

Hiya all,

Just sharing what a Pastor Manning is petitioning Joyce Meyer to. This is different, he petitions Joyce Meyer live, see above, not to hold one of her annual conferences for woman but to help women's shelters instead. I don't know of Pastor Manning but perhaps some of you saints in America know of him.

Just thought it was interesting and different from the usual things I read about televangelists. :whistling:

Well, there is not much money in actually helping people and serving others, hence the reason why many televangelists avoid doing so...

Cajunboy::: I'm just curious, are you that familiar with "televangelists," in particular the one you're referring to here, enough to know what Joyce Meyer is doing with God's monies? Or is it not worth you finding out more to see all the countries her ministries' been dumping funding into? Naw.....I guess it's just easier to listen to the gossip around town and the media and draw ones' own conclusions?

Prayers

Cajunboy

Ma'am no one is trying to "shut you up." You are entitled to your own opinion, as all others . But I'm just curious as to where you have acquired your information? I'm seeing evidence that MRS Meyers is allocating great monies for God's work into foreign countries as Africa, India, Panama, South America, and several countries. It's difficult to for a televangelist to stand next to a complex of housing that was newly built in Africa and have the native people standing and smiling with her and be lying about all she is doing. It is hard for me to believe that she could be standing inside of a newly-buiilt hospital that her efforts are responsible for in Africa and Doctors standing next to her, and summize that "she just being greedy and is a fake."

Philippians 1:18

But what does it matter? The important thing is that in every way, whether from false motives or true, Christ is preached. And because of this I rejoice.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
