i was most certainly not bashing the pope, he is not the Antichrist! Like I said, don't leave any comments unless you read it (edited by moderator - please keep the discussion on the issues not our opinion on how peoples actions reflect on their intelligence).

It certainly IS Rome bashing. There was nothing new here, this is all very very old stuff. You could have taken most of it from the margin notes of the Geneva Bible of 1560! But I didn't claim you said the Pope was the antichrist....do pay attention my boy!

My main point is really that the problem with Christians today is they'd rather know about antichrist than JESUS CHRIST!

ive read things like this before ,,, and its interesting ,,, there were christians in the temple too ,,, some of the pharrasee followed jesus and the saducee too ,,, i believe that there are alot of catholics that are true belivers ,,, and i was raised southern baptist (im nondenom now) but there is somthing in me that says that somthing aint quite right about all this pin pointing who the anti christ is ,,, if satan is the great duplicator (how i understand it ) wont he like jesus come outa the faceless masses ??? (the anti christ that is) wont the anti christ have the same powers ??? like raising the dead (except he will say its his power and give no glory to god) i just cant see the whole world blindly following the cathlic faith ... maybe its just me ,,,arrow from god

The oldest manuscript shows 616, not 666. Given the uncertainty around what the number really should read, I doubt you can rely on this to tell you who the antichrist is.

15 other popes had that name, but none of them this close to the end, when the revived Roman empire is already here, the European union.

We've apparently been "close to the end" for about 2000 years. There has been time enough for 15 other Pope Benedicts, for all we know there is time enough for 15 more.

The real number John wrote is 666, it is not 616.

The oldest manuscript does not have the oldest text copy.

The oldest text is the byzantine text from antioch in asia minor. This is the majority text that is an accurate copy of the original text circulated by the apostles and their followers.

The King James version is translated from this original unaltered text, byzantine majority text also called textus receptus.

The text that has 616 is from corrupted manuscripts that were corrupted in Alexandria Egypt by gnostic heretics in the 4th century. Most modern versions of the bible use this corrupted texts, primarily the corrupted vaticanus and sinaiticus manuscripts. 5% of the Alexandrian text was deliberately altered and is not the original writing.

If you want the real bible, then use the King James version. The KJV has 666 in Revelation 13 and that is what John wrote.

The power of the antichrist is going to come from kings and people supporting him. Like it says in Dan. he will have mighty power but not by his own power.

Daniel 8:24 And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practise, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people.

The way it is written, the woman in Rev.17 has the name mystery babylon, and it says the woman is that great city that reigns over the kings of the earth. Rome is the city that reigned over the kings of the earth when that was written. Rome reigns over catholic kings now. They must obey the pope or be excommunicated. John is spiritually calling Rome babylon like he spiritually called Jerusalem, where our Lord was crucified, Sodom and Egypt.

Bible scholars have for centuries identified the babylon in Revelation as Rome.

Babylon in Revelation is going to be destroyed. The 10 nations that give their power to the antichrist are going to destroy babylon.

So it looks like, about 3.5 years from the end, the antichrist is going to have no more use for Rome or the Roman catholic church and he is going to order Rome destroyed, probably by a nuclear attack since it says it will be destroyed in one hour.

The antichrist is going to set up his kingdom in Jerusalem for the last 3.5 years pretending to be God in the temple.

[Hitler showed an example of this. The SA brought him to power beating up people in the streets, and when he was elected he destroyed the SA and then used the SS to stay in power. It seems the antichrist is going to do the same sort of thing. He uses the catholic church to obtain his power, then by flattery he gains control over 10 kings from the EU to support him, then he destroys the catholic church and Rome, that brought him to power in the first place, and then he rules using the 10 nations as his support, and rules from a different city, as world dictator, in Jerusalem. Pope benedict was a Hitler youth in germany, he saw Hitler do this sort of thing. He was also the grand inquisitor of the modern office of the inquisition, which is now called the congregation for the doctrine of the faith.]

So, toward the end when the antichrist sets himself up as world dictator people will not need to belong to the catholic church to support him. He will have destroyed Rome and the catholic church by that time.

Let's just say the religion is going to change into something resembling the old babylonian religion of Nimrod and his wife, from long ago, setting up the eighth kingdom of Revelation 17, the beast that was and is not and yet his.

The book of Revelation is understandable. Ask God in prayer to show you the proper understanding of it, and then listen to the King James version bible on tape of the book of revelation about 100 times, more or less. You should also know the rest of the bible very well to help avoid contradictions with other books.

You should start to understand it.

The book is not sealed, it is understandable.

The way I understand prophecy, the next big prophecy to happen is the Ezekiel chapters 38 and 39 prophecy about nations uniting with Russia to attack Israel.

God gives Israel the victory over them, by an earthquake and they destroy one another, with fire falling on them and on mainland Russia, it looks like from the prophecy.

The nations in the prophecy are: Russia, Iran/Iraq, Ethiopia, Turkey, and maybe Germany or France. That is what scholars say are the modern countries occupying the lands in the prophecy.

I believe the 7 year reign of the antichrist cannot happen until the Ezekiel prophecy is finished for some time.

As you can see from world events, the Ezekiel prophecy is not about to happen yet.

Israel was threatening to attack Iran, because they are developing nuclear bomb technology and have spoken openly about destroying Israel. Russia warned Israel to back off.

I saw an Israeli leader on TV say that they would attack Iran if threatened.

If Israel attacks Iran, then this could provoke a counterattack by Russia and a coalition of nations to fulfill the Ezekiel prophecy.

After that happens, Israel rebuilds the temple and sets up a daily sacrifice.

Antichrist gains his control over the 10 nations from the EU, and makes a 7 year treaty of some sort with Israel. Then the last 7 years till Christ's return begins, and the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse start to ride.

It would start with war, in the middleast region, getting closer to Israel, according to Dan. 7 and 11; and some of God's punishments falling on men for their sins, which they refuse to repent of.

3.5 years into the period the Antichrist takes over Israel and sets up his throne in Jerusalem.

The two witnesses prophecy against the antichrist and smite the earth with plagues for the last 3.5 years while the final and most devastating punishments from God hit the human race.

Two main reasons why the end cannot be too far off, is the population of the human race is now so high that it threatens to interfere with the eco system that supports the human race; and every year it increases by about another 100 million more or less. Prejected 9 billion in the next 40 years; the technology we have now cannot support such a population.

It looks like large famines and disease must happen on the malnurished human race in the near future.

The second reason is global warming which will accelerate to destroy crops and change the weather and cause seaside cities to start flooding. [Over population is the main cause of global warming.]

Even without bible prophecy the prospects for the human race as a whole show trouble coming because of overpopulation and its effects. So, the end cannot be too far off.

[One more awful idea: The people in control might think in the future that nuclear war is desirable to decrease the human population. Since nuclear bombs were developed there have been no major world wars; people are afraid of nuclear war. In the future, when the population is so high that 70% or more of the whole human race is malnurished, nuclear war might be seen as a means to decrease the population rapidly. They won't be so timid about using those big H bombs then.

Example: In africa elephants are shot to keep the population down, otherwise they would eat too many trees and they could lose the whole herd of elephants.]

When the antichrist goes forth conquering and to conquer, nuclear bombs could be part of that.
