The new earth and vegetarians

I just came to the conclusion that in the New Earth we will problaly be vegetarian again.

I can't see the Lord allowing animals to be killed again.

Is 65 :25 tells us that the wolf and the lamb shall feed together the lion shall eat straw ,the dust shall be the serpents food and they shall not hurt or destroy in all My holy mountain , says the Lord.

There is a Messianic Jewish Doctor named Gordon Tessler. He has written a book called "The Genesis Diet." He also authored a book called "Eating God's way." It has various recipes. I have not read the recipe book. I can't say if it is any good. Tessler believes that God wanted man to be herbivorous from the start. I can't say that I disagree, but don't know if I can go the vegitarian route myself. I am a sucker for BBQ brisket. Or some of those succulant beef ribs. If ya do it right, no sauce is needed.

I may be the only one here that believes this, but I don't think that once we are "changed to be like Christ" there will be any need for food of any sort, except for Christ. I believe those verses which insinuate that there will be eating in the New Jerusalem is symbolic of greater things.

I don't think we need to eat to live either, but we might for pleasure?

Shilo that book you mentioned might be interesting...I'm going to see if I can get more information about this book on the net.

I eat very little meat, I do believe its connected with high chloresterol and digestion.

Some scripture to think about.

Revelation 2:7

"He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life, which is in the midst of the Paradise of God."'

Revelation 22:2

In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

Revelation 22:14

Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city.

looks like we will be eating fruits from the tree of life. I feel that's all we will need.

Well the prophesy looks to be literal to me. I do not think there is any symbolism in the tree of life.

But I suppose we can all reserve the right to be found wrong when we get there

If we symbolize the tree of life and its fruits in Revelation, we have to symbolize the tree and the fruits in the Garden of Eden too.
