The EU was formed at the Council of Rome in 1960. Rome is known as the city of 7 hills.

It seems from these verses that the 7 kings correspond to the 7 mountains as kings, which couldn't be the Catholic Church but kingdoms or empires. The beast is a combination of all the world empires, past and future. The fact they are "heads" is also significant. These are the seven heads or ruling kingdoms of the beast.

Ok....I'm not saying it's the Catholic Church. I"m also not saying that is couldn't be. The present scenario indicates a high probability that it's the Vatican. Do you understand that the Vatican is not the "church" per se'? It is the political head of the church. Again...we are talking about a sovereign nation which has had ambassadors in every nation since the 4th century. They have the only claim to a spiritual organization "fornicating with the kings of the earth" up until this present time. It could be burned with fire in an hour easily...

That scenario could also change. The UN has drawn up a world religion which could be forced upon the world someday. Not likely...but maybe.

What is inescapably true is that this "spiritual confusion" is coming from Rome. It could be a New World Order religion that is an outgrowth maybe...

Who are what gave birth to prostitutes

What do prostitutes work for? Mammon of course.

Historically, prostitutes were priestesses. They worked in the service of the fertility gods.

Keep in mind that not all prostitutes are "street walkers." There are some who use their craft for power and usurping. And of course, there are many who are what they are because they are in essence slaves; to say they work for money would be farce.

And what are these abominations

There are lots of abominations. Idolatry and worship of mammon and materialism is an abomination, also called spiritual adultery and playing the harlot.

and what of "immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these," (Gal. 5:19-21)?

Was it for "the love of money" that the Lord caused His people Israel to go into captivity time and time again? As I read judges and the prophets, I see not "mammon."

Its problaly Rome and thats where the world religion might come from too, look how much they compromise already with all kinds of other religions .

Wait until we get another Pope, things could change very quickly.

It seems to me the Vatican fits better into the symbolism of the feet of iron and clay in King Nebecchednezzer's vision of the statue than to "Mystery Babylon."

The image is also representative of kingdoms. The iron and clay is a mixed kingdom of clay (democracy) and iron (communism & dictatorship).

The Kingdom of Babylon (head) was replaced with the Kingdom of the Medes and Persians (breast and arms) which was replaced by Greece (belly) which was replaced by Rome (legs) which was replaced by . . . .

Well, when the Roman Empire fell apart, who took power? The Empire became two. What defined these empires? Governments ruled by a religious institution? A churuch that acted as a government? A government that used religion to control? Iron and clay?

The legs were of iron (Rome). The feet are iron and clay. The inheritance of the Roman Empire? The Roman Catholic Church ruling in Rome's stead?

Although it does puzzle me that this government no longer has the power it once had (unless one of these behind-the-scenes conspiracy theories is true).

But there was no other power that directly followed the Roman Empire.

Democracy and communism?

The history books don't say anything about a Roman Catholic world empire. There hasn't been a world empire since the Roman empire, although America is coming close.
