Well I dont know about that John, but I've always said that it is better to be prepared for the tribulation and be surprised by the rapture than be prepared for the rapture and be surprised by the tribulation. I was pre trib not long ago, I must admit, but after a lot of serious study and listening to what some of my brothers and sisters were saying on this board plus the most important influence of all, the Holy Spirit, I realised I was being deceived and pretrib was not an option, well not as far as I am concerned.

Anyway thanks for your input John and you go and have a great in the Lord.

eric ;)

Eric,

thank you for your reply. I too did much, much study on the subject. I prayed fervently about it. I read and re-read the scriptures. I read the books authored by some of the most fervent post-tribbers. And yes, the Holy Spirit sopke to my heart. That is why I am a firm believer in the pre-trib rapture.

Gosh, guess we'll just have to agree to dis-agree. :P

However, this is NOT an issue to divide over. When we get up there before the tribulati

You're right about that John, It doesn't matter when we get there, as long as we do get there. I've long given up on speculating about times of anything.

Cheers.

Eric,

you want to reconsider the above statement. Jesus commanded us to look and watch for the signs He gave regarding the last days. To be ready.

Remember, the reason that the Temple was destroyed and the Jews were scattered into other nations was that they "failed" to know the time of His first coming. The scriptures were all there, the signs were there, but the people refused to see/accept them.

Just another of my 2

Oh I agree John, The signs are most definitely there and I am Ready. Maybe the first century Jews wern't ready but I am. Now I dont want to be a hero or a martyr, but there are going to be a lot of confused young christians during the trib period, including my own kin, and I would like to be around to encourage and minister to them that they endure to the end Like Jesus said. Those who endure to the end shall be saved.

in Christ.

Before I reply to your obviouse caustic posting about the series I prayed about it. I cannot see why you are so negative. I already stated that it is a work of fiction but it is done tastefully and in fact has led many of us to do "research" using our bibles. How is this a bad thing if it gets you courious enough to want to know the truth? Sure bugging the AC plane etc are fictional but it does add to the intensity of the story. I enjoy the series very much and so do most of the people who read the series. We all are of sound enough mind to know fact from fiction.

Which leads me to believe that you are either a frustrated author yourself or that you would begrudge someone who is a good author the rewards of his work. Either way your pettyness is showing. You need to relax and enjoy life more because if you view life this way you are really pretty sad as a human being. I will keep you in my prayers.

Hey Pangel, Chill out here, you are not reading my posts properly. I am not an author, or am I frustrated and I'm totally relaxed and if you enjoyed your life as much as I enjoy mine then you would not have to read a whole of fiction to give you a buzz. I never criticised anyone who reads LaHaye's books, I merely stated that I wouldn't read them and if I think they are a load of tripe, then I have every right to voice my opinon I was talked into viewing one of his vidoe tapes of his left behind series and I was not impressed. I dont care personally whether you read LaHaye or Mickey Mouse and I haven't suggested anywhere what you should or should not read. And I dont make caustic remarks as you suggest. I speak openly and honestly and It is my opinion that the left behind series are leading some people into a false deception. You can attack my opinions if you want but please dont attack me.

I am now withdrawing fron any further discussion on this issue.

I hope you don't mean that Eric. Even though you and i disagree on this particular topic, I encourage to stay. You ARE entitled to your opinion, just like we all are.

Please stay!

Thanks John, but no thanks. The topic is going nowhere. Now I dont mond my opions and beliefs being opposed but when I am being attacked personally it's a different ball game I do not like people telling me I'm frustrated, petty and a sad individual, and when the accuser has been around the block as often as I have and clocked up the mileage I have, he/she might pay a little more attention to what God wrote. And hey, God did for free.

Thanks again John for your post but I'll catch up with you on another thread. BTW I saw your prayer request on the board and I hope things are panning out for you now.

cya.

Now if LaHaye is right and there is a rapture and all the saints will be taken before the trib and those that miss the rapture will have a second chance, there is no harm done. But what happens if there is no pre-trib rapture and all those who believe LaHaye find themselves floundering around in the tribulation. Dont you think that they will feel deceived and fall away from their faith? Because I do.

If there is not a pre-trib rapture you and I will be here to help those people not loose their faith. I am more concerned with your other problem of people coming to Christ as a fire insuriance policy. I don't think it works that way either, but I have more problems with "hell fire and brimstone" preachers than Lahey's books even though they are not scriptural (to me anyway).

I do like to read your opinions. They make me think and consider my own thoughts. I really don't undestand the personal attack. Must have touched on a problem somewhere neither of us know about. At least my experience over the years lead me to think that way.

Keep up the posts, for in reality, we have eternity to talk about these things. Maybe we'll see each other on the way up whenever it happens........

My dear brother Eric...

you are certainly free to do as you wish, BUT, maybe, just maybe the person who attacked you was just having a bad day? Maybe? :x:

In any event, FORGIVE, FORGET, and above all LOVE. :il:

I sincerely hope this doesn't offend you brother!

I, for one, appreciate you........

In Him,

John

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
