As far as Joseph's character, he was no prude and would have known the possible results that would resulted from the temptation had he have not had sexual relations with Mary. Please quit trying to read things into the Bible that are simply not there.

Ronald, could you give me a reference or this statement? I am not at all sure that I understand what you are trying to insinuate, and I don't want to jump to any conlusions. But to put this into context: Your wife has just given birth to the Son of God, and you are raising Him. Would that not change how you look at your wife? Do you or anyone have a historical reference that shows that Mary had other children? Thanks.

The "reference," should you choose to read it apart from what some priest tells you to think about it, is the Holy Bible!

And why doesn't the Bible SPECIFICALLY state that Mary remained a virgin? It doesn't, but yet you keep touting it like it is a true blue fact. And, if indeed Mary was immaculetely conceived, shouldn't her mother have been conceived as such and so down the line?

Ronald your defense is as ridiculous as saying "well since Jesus was God does that mean that Mary was God and that her parents were God and so on?" Remember we are dealing with this guy called God, not a guy called Ronald. He can do many things that you may not understand, and he is not contained by your simplistic thought. He does as he wishes.

King David couldn't control his lusts... Maybe it ran in the family...

So what about Jesus did he contract this? How silly. We are speaking of the Mother of God and his stepfather.

Ronald, your condescending tone is offensive. I'm trying to discuss this nicely, so why are you being so combative? And why do you have such an irrational fear of Catholicism? I am not currently a practicing Catholic, so much of what you ascribe to me is not valid, but at least I try to understand their faith as well as yours. Could you be a little bit more specific than "the Bible"? Do you have a verse that says specifically that Mary and Joseph had children together? My point was that I have not seen anything in scripture one way or the other, so I don't see how any of us can state that their opinion is fact.

I just thought I would put in my two cents. First of all, I have many catholic friends, and I've studied Roman Catholicism for a couple of years, and I know for a fact, that the Roman Catholic SYSTEM is a false religious system. I've gently tried to tell my catholic friends without offending them, but of course they were offended, but they still speak to me,and I get along with them at work. My one boss is a catholic. Anyway, "transubstantiation" in the eucharist, "purgatory", praying to Mary and to dead saints, and Mary being a co-mediator between us and Christ etc. is NOT in the word of God. Infant baptism {sprinkling} is not scriptual either, and calling some priest "father" is a big no no as Jesus said in Matt. 23:9. Roman Catholicism is another gospel. Their Jesus only paid for original sin,and is not the Jesus Christ of the bible. They deny the finished work of a Lord and Saviour on the cross. The pope may be the head of his "Church",but not the head of the true Church in which Jesus Christ is the head {Col.1:18}. I'm not saying that all catholics are going to hell, but any catholic who is relying on Mary to help get them to heaven,or purgatory,or good works,or sprinkling and so on, will not make it to heaven. Being born again is the only requirement for heaven, and the catholics need to realize that being born again means to have a personal relationship with God through and ONLY through the Lord Jesus Christ.

We have to be careful when accusing someone of being offensive here...remember we are typing out our thoughts and cannot hear a "Condescending tone" K? :il:

I am still looking for a verse that specifically says Mary and Joseph had children..but I did find this...so I'm sure she did not remain a virgin.

Matthew 1:22-25

So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying "Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel," which is translated, "God with us."

then Joseph, being aroused from sleep, did as the angel of the Lord commanded him and took to him his wife, AND DID NOT KNOW HER TILL SHE HAD BROUGHT FORTH HER FIRSTBORN SON. And he called His name Jesus.

Now also the reference firstborn Son...tends to lead me to believe that she did have more children. But I won't assume anything without more looking.

Love and Blessings,

Angel

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
