I beg your pardon, yes we do! I paid medicare tax, as well as social security tax as well as unemployment tax, out of my paycheck. Then my employer paid me less money than i should have gotten for my service because he had to cover the other half of my tax.

You had better go look again on what is taken out of your paychecks.

As far as dying at a young age, you don't collect a dime if your young, thats a crime in of itself! They steal all of the money that person pays in.

And if you are a property owner like ME, you pay for public education.

That is my point, you pay for all of those things. This social safety-net is something we all pay for. Its not just some handout.

simple they whip out a EBT card and they don't pay taxes on what they buy either

Food stamps and WIC are much more of a farm subsidy than a welfare program.

Wrong. The maximum amount of time an adult can draw it is 2 years unless they have kids. tHen they get to draw it along with the kids until the kids are 18 years old!

True, but what would you have as an alternative. These people don't have kids they cant afford in order to collect welfare, they have them because they are to irresponsible to abstain or use contraception. The moral dilemma that arises for society is that we cant exactly have children living in abject poverty simply because their parents are worthless. Moreover, as I pointed out, we are talking about a very small portion of federal outlays.

What a crock. The only one that ever helped me was coverdale and he died. he is a conservative. The liberals, told me not their problem go ask the welfare department.

The only reason why we even have Medicare and Social Security is liberals and progressives. President Bush was pushed into supporting a Medicare drug benefit by liberals and progressives. The Republican solution to the healthcare crisis is for you just to show up in the emergency room or get a savings account.

I gotta say that those EVIL pharmaceutical executives are doing more for me than any liberal political! the EVIL pharmaceutical companies are the ones who make sure i don't do without my lifesaving drugs. i still pay them for them, but its a reasonable price.

The spend more on advertising and promotion than they do on R&D. Moreover, many of the drugs on the market today were developed with taxpayer funding.

personally i myself don't want anything i don't earn. If i have to suck it out of someone elses pocket, then i do without.

No one is saying that anything is free. I think what moderates and progressives are saying is that there is a better way of doing this. For example, why should Medicare not be able to use its purchasing power to negotiate better prices for prescription drugs for Medicare recipients?

The solution to the folks needing a social safety net is education. Its a crime that in this country people do not take advantage of the free education offered them. A person can go from grade school to 4 years in college and in some cases if their intellegent enough they can go for free all the way to completion. Theres no excuse for not educating ones self. Secondly these same individuals need to educate themelves in a field that will support them instead of going for some obscure field that will never employ them.

I certainly agree with that.

One thing I should point out here seeing as it is now routine to accuse people of being liberals or even communists on worthy. The majority on worthy is extremely-conservative, meaning we have a skewed view of the political spectrum. In Canada, I am conservative; on worthy, I am a left-wing worshipper of karl marx (or so I'm told). Just keep that in mind when telling people they are not moderates, or conservative or whatever. Out there in the real world, they probably are moderates.

This should especially be kept in mind for those of us who are not american. Here in Canada, just about all of the people I know who consider themselves conservatives support our socialized health care for example.

Keilan, you make a pretty good point. Even here in America many 'conservatives' have allowed bits of liberalism to get to them. It gets to the point where true, staunch, conservatives are fairly rare. Then you get a guy like Kilgore who represents conservative values and he looks like an extremist because so many conservatives are moderates. In reality, Kilgore is just trying to espouse conservative values that were in place not so long ago in this country.

The world is becoming 'progressively' more liberal and old school conservatism is viewed as extreme.

That's sad, and needs to be stopped.

execution for adultery is not biblical. and define homosexual acts! That one worries me. Some people consider anything other than missionary position a homosexual act.

I like: Execution for murder including abortion, but child sex abuse and getting kids hooked on drugs and selling drugs to kids should be added.

Requiring restitution from thieves, to the victim, not the government.

Eliminate the budget for public schools and welfare.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
