In case anyone is interested, "Raiders" posted the answer to the meaning of the symbolism behind Satan carrying the "baby."

You know, I like what Wayne had to say -

Let's wait and see what fruits come out of this.

Of topic, the other morning, one of the Christian radio dj's here mentioned a comment made by Jay Leno.

After the overwhelming success of "The Passion" at the box office opening weekend, Hollywood is scrambling to create more movies based off the Bible.

The trouble is - where are you going to find a Bible in Hollywood?

by the way... in caviezel's interview, he said one of the most amazing things about filming the movie was seeing how many of the cast and crew became Christians during the filming.

I didn't quite get that either. After some searching it appears that this is one instance of the influence of Emmerich's "Dolorous Passion". It is not biblical obviously, and it struck me as odd at the time. All I could think of was that after the Last Supper they understood how sacred Jesus's blood was and did not want it left that way.

I will answer Cats verse with this one:

Isa 5:20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

What: That's too funny... :laugh::P:P

Don't worry about me, lil' bro....I'm doin' just fine here. I know evil from good. If you want to understand the verse you quoted, go check out the threads on "homosexuality".

I live with a negative person. I love him but he's very negative. People like that look for clouds and complain continually. They're never happy...always complaining.

They pick and pick ...looking for trouble everywhere. They never see the beauty of a warm, sunny day or the sweet melody of birds singing...they walk around with a dark cloud over their head.

The fact that you counter with this verse only confirms what I said. In your mind, what's really good is evil in your mind; what's evil goes unnoticed.

Maybe you should check out all those threads concerning truly sinful behavior and the applause some are giving those who practice such things.

That would apply nicely to your verse.

Growling at a movie about the Lord Jesus hardly qualifies as "evil"...How incredibly silly....

Boy, I keep thinking of new things to express.

Has anyone noticed the dynamics of the reactions to this film? It's either really love it or really hate it - both sides showing very strong emotions. There is no middle ground it seems. This film sure did provoke emotions.

Take that as you will; I just find it interesting.

Another point. I personally, believe that having such a strong visual is a good thing (whether you were in favor of this particular one or not). Why? It is so hard for us in 21st century America to really grasp what Jesus went through for us. We just don't understand such brutality.

Back when Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, and even Paul to an extent, wrote about Christ's suffereing and death, all they had to say was that He was flogged and crucified and the reader had a full understanding of what that meant. I doubt a single one of them had never seen a Roman flogging nor a crucifixion. There was no need to explain what kind of suffering He endured.

Today, what do we understand? How could we?

To a society where the cross has become a useless piece of jewelry, what will they think of now?

I'm not sure I'm getting out what I wanted to, really.

Did you know the four major house church groups are organizing to send 100,000 missionaries to the Muslim countries between China and Jerusalem?

Yes! Someone else posted this in a different forum. That is so awesome that these Christians in China are becomming missionaries like that! And I'll bet they know by now how to face the threat of persecution in the Muslim countries. We know so little about suffering and persecution here. It is . . . kind of scary if you think about it.

Anyway, I hope to hear more of this as time passes.

Whatsit:

As to the naked man walking out of the tomb with a smirk like arnold swartzenegger saying I'll be back.

Christ will be back. He promised that. I thought it was artistically done and nothing but the side of the fanny and thigh was shown besides the pierced hand. You have a problem with that? Want to tell Christ you have a problem with that?

You will have your chance when Christ returns.

i don't recall scripture indicating that Christ wore a loin cloth when he was resurrected. that being said, i have to admit, i thought the last scene was poorly done. it just looked cheezy. i would have liked it better if a semi-transparent Christ with nail holes in his hand appeared to the women when they discovered the empty tomb.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
