Lets see.... First of all I belong to The Church..The Body of Christ....... I got saved in a Assembly of God church as a teen...was out in the world for alot of years and didnt attend church....After The Lord brought me to a place in my life where i could only look up ..... I was invited to a Southern Baptist church I serve at to this day.... I love it There We Get fed By The Truth and The Holy Word of God ... every sermon comes straight out of The Word of God.....I've nothing against most other denominations or Non denominational churches as long as The True Word of God is taught .... There many members to the Body ..we all have differents functions......We all arent goin to agree on everything ... Its our human nature .. But as long as we are all serving The Lord Jesus Christ and accept His Eternal Salvation ..We will all Be in Fellowship together :t2: And Will Have a Great time Praising Our Lord in Heaven one day ....All Together!! :D Love you all !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! God Bless you all!!!! Onward and Upward!!

Sooo... I don't go to Church anymore.

John

John, I went through that several years ago. And when I did, my mother told me that the light went out of my eyes. I was no longer the same person, someone who seemed encouraged and uplifted. I was just wandering. I read my bible.....sometimes.......prayed.......sometimes. I believe you can grow in when you are not in a church as long as your prayer life and bible reading are strong. Very few can handle a situation like that well though. But, you will not grow the same, you will not be encouraged the same, you will not be able to celebrate the same as if you had a body of believers around you. To spur you on to greatness in the Lord, and all He has for you, and all you can do for him.

My prayers are with you brother. May your need for fellowship with true believers be met soon. I pray you find the unconditional Agape love in a group of people who will encourage you and be a family - unlike any earthly family, could ever be.

We are with you John, as well as all of you who have no church or body of believers you can call home. May God lead you to where you should be,

Much agape love and affection,

Willow

People aren't quick to accept new comers.

And that's a shame, since evangelizing the lost is supposed to be the reason we're in business.

Those didn't pan out because I am a smoker and single and was not accepted by any of the "cliques". I resented being "preached" at about my shortcomings as though I were the only sinner in the crowd.

There are plenty of single smokers at my church. Our pastor wants to put an ashtray outside to collect the butts, but fears the backlash he might receive from all the 'holy people'. He did mention his intents and thoughts publicly but so far I haven't seen an ashtray.

Just like Island Rose here I'm also an Independent Fundamental Baptist, I had been since birth, even though I studied other Religion's. I perfer this church, because they only go by the King James Bible, because they don't have Rock Concerts, and because they don't believe they can loose their Salvation from their Lord Jesus.

Do you mind if I continue to pray for a church home for you?

Please do gymrose! I need all the help I can get and prayer works wonders.

Thanx Sis!

Love,

John

We live in a rural area and the choices are limited. We attend a Baptist church and are very happy there. The Pastor shares much of our beliefs and preaches the unapologetic Word of God every Sunday.

My heart, however, will always be "Presbyterian" as I believe it is the closest to Scripture.

Lcpguy - I am wondering why your smoking was even an issue at that church? Sometimes we get lured into being an "open book" at church. It really is no one's business but YOURS and GOD's. You don't need to make every detail of your life known to attend a church - it often leads to major hurt. Been there, done that and I feel for you. Don't mean to be nasty, but those 'christians' are jerks and will be ashamed one day. I sincerely hope and pray you find a church home soon. In the meantime, you can't go wrong by tuning into "The Coral Ridge Hour" on Sunday mornings at 11:00. Dr. James Kennedy is the Pastor and is not your usual "televangelist". I heartily recommend it.

I'm Baptist, and the reason is, I believe that they teach closest to the Bible, as most of you believe about the churches you go to. I believe in OSAS, baptism not for salvation, works not for salvation, and everything they adhere to. The only part I might stray from is the timing of the Rapture. I am just not sure about that, but it isn't a major issue with me. Was raised in a little Missionary Baptist church, have attended Independent Baptist churches also, and now attend a Southern Baptist, but we are "inbetween" churches and have not joined it yet. We had a couple of bad experiences in a little Independent church here, or Independent Fundamental church really, and was very discouraged for a while. Not a pretty story, but we are fairly happy where we are attending now.

I am Independent Pentecostal - get to make our own rules - woohoo! We follow the Assemblies of God doctrine pretty close, with a few moderations. I'm happy with where I am. I think the excuse "i'm not being fed there" is extremely lame - if you sit down and listen, you will be fed. I just thought I'd toss that in there.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
